How long are art copyrights held after an artist's death? Tenniel died in the early 1900's, didn't he?

I have unfortunately discovered, through two swapped bottles, that at some point, there was a Bengal/Baghdad labeling mix-up; I'm now the owner of two bottles of Bengal with Baghdad labels

Could be that someone decanted/dumped imps into an empty bottle with the wrong label. Josey, hun, where did you mean to post this? It ain't got nuthin' to do with aging...

Hmm, I resent the one from 3-4 weeks ago, but I still haven't got a reply from one about 2-3 days ago. I usually get replies within 36 hours. I tried to do a Hungry Ghost Moon order and I don't think my Paypal went through. =(

Do you have it in your Paypal account's transaction records? If not, then it definitely didn't work...

As far as the emails, are your span filters set to accept mail from the answers addy? I don't know how quick the answers response time is atm, but I know it's probably slower than usual, on account of the Lab moving around so much and inevitably having more C/S emails about orders than usual. I'd give it a few more days at LEAST before resending.

Have you checked your spam filters? Sometimes replies from the Lab get trapped by 'em. Make sure the answers addy is on your approved list, and try again?

apparently some people outside the us are just trying to check out, get the 'no orders outside the USA' message, and go aw no... oh well... (two just in that lj comment thread...) never seeing the FAQ bit about international orders.

Yeah, recent convert here, and I got all excited when someone pointed out that they *do* ship to Canada. Alas, in my haste, I ordered directly through CCNow and not Paypal (though I have both). I mean, I checked the "Paypal" option but it gave me a receipt as a CCNow order. I used a "CA / 910210 address and then uppercased a comment that this is GOING TO CANADA.

 

I understand now that we're supposed to go straight to Paypal for orders? Will my use of CCNow instead of straight Paypal totally screw up my order, or will they be able to sort through it? Hopefully so. Also, what's anticipated shipping nowadays - month, month and a half?

You should contact the Lab at answers (at) blackphoenixalchemylab (dot) com and see what they say. You may have to cancel and resubmit your order via Paypal, as they do not accept non-US CCNow orders. Plus, you'd owe some $ for shipping up here, as it's more expensive than shipping to the US!

Unless something has changed recently, they have regular labels.

That's just a CCNow SKU glitch...the Lab should be able to fix that pretty quick. If you order via Paypal instead, though, you can get around CCNow's asshattery.

I have a question...I placed an order to BPAL with my non credit card paypal account which is linked to my work account, at the end of this week I will no longer be working here (YAY!!), should I send the lab a new email address where they can CNS me or just leave it?

No, as long as your physical address is correct, you should be fine.

They're working on it, actually. It's not as easy as it may sound, but they are looking at changing CC processors in the future. They dislike CCNow even more than the rest of us.

In the Bottle: The first thing I thought of when I opened Toxin was Blue Moon. Your mileage may vary quite a bit on that one, as it has been a very long time since my Blue Moon moved on to a more loving home, but it seems to me that they share at least one common sweet, fresh top note. The more I sniff the bottle, though, the less alike to BM it becomes...there is a light, almost aquatic note and something citrussy in there, too.

On my skin: The citrus note comes out immediately on my skin. It doesn't seem like lemon, but perhaps lemongrass? It is very calm and refreshing. This slowly gives way to a light, fresh floral scent.

Dry: Whatever the top note I initially smelled was, it seems to have resurfaced as Toxin dried. It is resting atop the floral notes, keeping them from becoming cloying and producing an overall effect almost like clean linens.

Overall: I think fans of clean, light scents such as Dirty will absolutely adore Toxin. It is soft and subtle while still pervasive enough to be noticed, and its refreshing tone makes it a perfect fun spring/summer scent.

Ok, my paranoia is getting the better of me, so I have to ask this. Has anyone had a problem with the lab not harvesting their CCNow order. I ordered on Jan 31st and it still hasn't been harvested. I normally wouldn't worry except the lab is now shipping for orders placed on the 27th. Should I just wait or should I email the lab?

I'd wait a little while. There are any number of reasons yours might be in a later batch to be harvested, and it could also just be CCNow fucking up and delaying notifying you of it being harvested. If the Lab has shipped THROUGH the 31st and your order still shows as not harvested, then drop 'em an email. No reason to worry yet, though.

I've got two questions and I wasn't sure where to ask them, so I'm putting them here.

 

First, it looks like the Budding Moon shipments are arriving for many people, but I haven't received my 01/05/06 order yet. I feel silly asking this because I just got my CnS on 01/26...but how long should I wait before contacting the lab about a possible problem? I'm betting I'll get my shipment in the next couple of days, but in case it doesn't arrive, how much time should I allow to pass before trying to get help?

You only need to be concerned if it is past the window of 21-45 business days and your order still hasn't arrived. The Lab doesn't process orders *exactly* in the order they were placed (though they stick pretty darn close)...which means that if, for example, you ordered the only 5mL of Bloodlust sold that week, and everybody the day after you ordered 5mLs of Budding Moon and nothing else, then yours might be processed after theirs, if the Lab doesn't have a 5mL of Bloodlust on hand (and thus has to make a new batch), but has all of the Budding Moon already done. Does that make sense?

My other question: if you make a post and it gets moved, how can you find it?

I've noticed the "thank you for your order" thing...I think it comes up any time you hit "continue shopping" in CCNow instead of using the back button.

Nah, I use my credit card through PayPal. I think it's just referring to those who don't have PayPal but who still want to use credit.

Ordering via Paypal is not ordering via credit card as far as the Lab is concerned, because it just goes into their paypal balance, rather than through a credit card processor operated by the Lab. CCNow is (currently) the Lab's only credit card processor.

Are you sure it cut you off? Sometimes, Paypal appears to do that, but when you check in your history (i.e. rather than the confirmation email), the rest of your message is intact.

That aside, how long ago did you email them?

Everytime there is any sort of rush to order, the autoresponder craps out. It sucks, yes, but as long as you have your Paypal reciept, you've nothing to worry about.

C'mon, P...You KNOW you want to own a bottle with the new label anyway...

You'll get either a Click'n'Ship (if you're in the US, and USPS' software is cooperating at the time) or a by-hand email notification (if you're international) when the Lab ships your order. I've not noticed anything changing on my Paypal screen to reflect this, though.

Yup. As long as you explained in the notes section that you were paying the remainder from the other order, the Labbies'll understand.

The problem, Rhowan, is unfortunately that you misread the website. The estimated timeframe is 21-45 business days until your order is shipped...you are only on day 30.

Also, re: it taking a long time for the labbies to get back to you...they still don't have internet at the Lab because of their forced move. They're doing customer service from home on their own time, so yes, it is taking longer than usual. Be patient, though: they'll get back to you as soon as they can!

The big thing here is that you are in Canada.

Sadly, Customs can slow orders BIG TIME, and the Lab has no control over that. I've had orders take an additional month on top of the usual week-to-two-weeks that it takes to get here, and when they finally do show up, they've been taxed. It has only happened twice to me in the time I've been ordering from BPAL (almost 2 years now), but it does happen.

So, don't give up hope *just* yet!!! If it doesn't come fairly soon, though, the Lab is very good about reshipping like Macha and aedes said, so you will get your goodies eventually.

Hmm. I could've sworn there was a delay on mine, but they probably either changed it since way back when when I last used it(I hardly ever use bank transfers), or maybe it's just different for international Paypal users. That's cool, though.
