  1. I've changed addresses with Paypal before...what you need to do is go to "my account" and click on "profile" and then "street address." Then select your NEW address and hit "make primary." After that, you can select your OLD address and click "remove."

Presto-changeo, no more address screwups! :P

  2. Blood Countess is one of my all-time favourite BPAL oils too. I'd recommend you try Yerevan and Suspiro from the GC, and Midwinter's Eve if you can get your hands on it. (It'll be easier to find than Red Moon, at least!)

Additionally, I organize my BPAL box by scent similarity, and the scents I've got neighboring Blood Countess and some of your other "likes" are Blood, Rage, Le Petit Mort, Sed Non Satia, Tanin'iver, Hymn to Proserpine, and Black Opal. You might want to check those out!

  3. I had the same problem as dorothy_humbird. I made an order yesterday and I didn't get an email confirmation. I checked my email and all the junk folders and everything, but still nothing. What should I do?

Just gonna quote myself from above cos it's easier. :P

If CCNow definitely made a charge to your account, I'd contact them here with what information you do have, since it's their auto emailer that's apparently randomly screwy and not the Lab's. They should be able to provide you with order details...

  4. It works, it just positively reams the Lab with fees, because CCNow charges fees and then Paypal does too. That's why the front page of the Lab's website says:

IF YOU ARE PAYING VIA PAYPAL, please do NOT use our online credit card processor. Place your order through PayPal using the payment address paypal [at] blackphoenixalchemylab [dot] com and fill your order info in the comments field.

  5. Isn't there some kind of mail-order law in the US that you're not allowed to actually charge the person's card until the item has shipped? I know that many online retailers may do a card authorization (to make sure you have enough money) but they don't actually collect the funds until they ship. CCNow seems to have completed the transaction and pulled the money, and is showing "shipped," but since it was showing "shipped" three days after I placed the order, I'm pretty sure this is still a glitch and not a note that I'll be getting my BPAL in a couple of days....

I think the loophole here is that CCNow has completed their service for you when they hand your order over to the Lab, so that's when they charge you.

Honestly, this is one of the many reasons PayPal is just plain better. No confusion, no crazy fees, no third party glitches... :P *is a Paypal cheerleader!* :D

  6. I think a lot of people do that. As long as you remember to copy/paste it into a paypal window (rather than using CCNow to complete the transaction with their paypal option, which charges the Lab double fees), it's a good way to make sure you're paying the right amounts. :P

  7. As some of you know, Beth and I are moving and Trading Post is moving with us.

If everyone can have a little patience with me for a few days, I will try to sort out the boxes and figure out where everything is.

The new and improved Trading Post should be up and running by this weekend and I will resume shipping early next week.

Thank you for your understanding in this.

Just bumping this to let those of you who don't regularly check the forums that we have word from Beth that the printer has finally delivered all of the backordered Trading Post tees, as well as everyone's Pink Moon shirts. Sadly, Beth and Ted both fell ill this week (while they were in the process of moving), and are still quite sick. This will further affect the speed of orders leaving BPTP, but rest assured that once they are well they'll do their best to get everything out the door.

Thanks so much for your patience, everyone! It's definitely appreciated.

  8. The Lab's autoresponder was never very reliable, and I haven't got a message from it in ages, so I'm not sure if they've taken it down. All you need to know, though, is that as long as you've got a receipt from PayPal indicating your transaction went through, your order is fine! You don't need further confirmation.

  9. The Lab, sadly, has no control over CCNow, so emailing CCNow is probably your best option as far as having their security people look into it, but I'd definitely advocate switching to Paypal. Paypal is better overall, you can use it elsewhere too, and best of all, the Lab actually gets more of your money when you order with Paypal...they charge something like 2 or 3% in fees, where CCNow charges 9 or 10%!
