Did you give your int'l address in the comments when you made the order? You should see if Paypal will let you add the address to your "shipped to" options even if it can't be your primary, to avoid future mixups. You can usually select "no shipping address" when you send payments, rather than letting it automatically attach an address that is incorrect, as well.

You should definitely contact answers (at) blackphoenixalchemylab (dot) com with your order info right away, it may not have been picked up by the post office yet.

If it has, do you know the people at your old address still? Any chance they'd be able to forward your package for you?

They *probably* won't be shipped together, but they will likely ship soon, if orders around the 9th are being filled now. Keep an eye on your inbox!

It's more likely that CCNow is behind on their processing than anything, actually.

I realize I'm replying to an old thread, but this is driving me nuts.

 

I've just started looking into the idea of creating rollerballs/atomizers/etc of some of my imps, and from what I understand, I need to dilute or use a carrier oil (which makes sense). I know that there USED to be carrier oils on the BPAL site, but I can not for the life of me find them. Are they still available? Can somene tell me where to find them? I looked at the menu on the side of the page, and didn't see anything that seemed to fit, I did a search for "jojoba", and got 0 results... I tried randomly clicking through the different categories and scanning the lists, and didn't see anything... I tried doing a search on the forums, and couldn't find a link. I'm ready to pull out my hair here!

BPAL stopped selling carrier oils a looong time ago, around the same time they stopped selling bath stuff on the main site.

Incidentally -- MODS: You moved this thread so I had to go lookin' for it when I tried to type up a reply and got told the thread was kaput. Any particular reason? Would there be a problem starting a thread to discuss these in the BPAL Chatter area?

 

I didn't move it just to make things difficult for you, I moved it because this thread is for discussion of the authorized retailers in general...and we don't need two. Whole foods has its own thread for discussion specific to that store's lines, and Nailpolish Etc has the ECWC thread for discussion specific to that store and its events. Feel free to PM me if you'd like to discuss it further.

I would wait a little while...sometimes the USPS CnS software is a little wonky, so your order may have shipped already and you just didn't get the notice. Definitely don't go by the US shipped through rate, as domestic mail is SO much quicker, but really, you only ordered three weeks ago...I wouldn't be surprised if it is either about to ship or already out the door. However, if you really are worried, the Lab won't snap at you for inquiring or anything.

Paypal is really the best way to order, you just need to do it directly from paypal.com rather than through CCNow. It's when you pay with your paypal funds through the CCNow shopping cart that the Lab incurs huge amounts of fees.

Paypal really is easier and less headache inducing overall.

I was placing an order for Beaver Moon and 2 imps.I went and did the CC Now thingy,went to pay and my computer hung due to a rain storm here.I hit submit to go to PayPal and I got a message that PayPal would send me a email.Is that right??? I have done orders before withh CC Now and never had a problem before.I dont even have a order number to email anyone and I dont want to get stuck with multiple orders.Any help would be great!

From the front page of the Lab's website:

IF YOU ARE PAYING VIA PAYPAL, please do NOT use our online credit card processor. Place your order through PayPal using the payment address paypal [at] blackphoenixalchemylab [dot] com and fill your order info in the comments field.

So, you should not be using CCNow and hitting submit to go to PayPal, you should be opening a new browser and going to www.paypal.com and using the "send money" tab to send your order.

Haha yeah. AND it was my Formula 54 order, so I was like, triply worried because once that scent sold out, there wasn't any chance of buying a replacement if customs ate it! SO nerve wracking. But it did arrive, in perfect condition! I was soooo happy.

Sit with me, AuroraLlew, and let me tell you about the time customs sat on my order for three months...

That was an unusual delay, so don't worry about it being THAT bad, but it can take a few weeks sometimes depending on how fast they feel like workin'. Another influence is the fact that packages only cross the border in BC and ON, so if you're in a middle or an eastern province, you're at the mercy of Canada Post's cross-provincial services too. Isn't it fun?

I'd just put the properly-formatted address in your comments field, with a basic version thereof in the existing fields (i.e. sans uni name and your res hall name in with your name, and the room number in your street field) just in case. You might write to Paypal customer service as well; this sort of thing has to have come up before!

If you're sending to your friend's house, I'd include the address in the Notes field, so you don't have to add her address to your Paypal account. Also, I'd use your first method of listing the order, it's just a bit neater.

Not daft at all! These things can be confusing.

It's 100% ok to pay BY credit card THROUGH paypal. By that I do mean going to www.paypal.com, logging in, and sending your order via their "Send Money" feature.

The "not okay" thing, which the Lab references on their font page, is using the CCNow cart to place your order and selecting Paypal as the payment method there. That is what gets the Lab charged double fees, which they can't prevent because CCNow doesn't allow them to take Paypal off of the options for payment through the cart.

Does that mean that lab is getting charged percentage fees by BOTH CCNow AND Paypal?!?!?!

Yup. That's why the main Lab page says:

Personally, I'd wait another couple o' days, since it is just "packed; still have to go through QA and then off to shipping"...give 'em time to ship it, eh?

Are you emailing from a gmail or hotmail type account? If not, the Lab's replies may be getting blocked by your server's spamblockers. Try again at the answers (at) blackphoenixalchemylab (dot) com address.

I'm sure the Lab has not forgotten your order; if you check out the Click'n'Ship thread over in BPAL Chatter, you'll see that a number of international folks have just gotten shipping notifications for orders placed during that week, so I wouldn't doubt it if your order has either already shipped or is about to.

You'll have to ask Paypal directly about any change in their processes, but to the best of my knowledge, echeque payments are queued by date placed rather than date cleared; they just can't ship 'em until it clears.

Did you get an email confirming your order from CCNow? If so, don't worry. (You can use the link it contains to review the order, too) If not, worry, and email the Lab to see if there's any evidence of that transaction on their end, because if there isn't, your order wasn't processed by CCNow.

It's a new USPS thing. Your tracking info probably won't actually ever work, but who knows? Maybe they're shooting for international tracking in future.

I pronounce it, roughly, gæl-en-gæl (tried to put proper characters in there, but the forum spazzed on me ), with stress on the first syllable...dunno if I'm right though.

ETA: Your second pronunciation seems to come from an alternate form of the word, "galingale." The OED considers that spelling standard.

Yeah, CCNow does that sometimes. It's still authorized to charge your account, but the charge won't go through until the Lab harvests your order from CCNow's servers. 'S weird, but CCNow is kinda crappy like that.
