    Pumpkin II (2008)

This smells like the Butter Cream Yankee candle to me. Almost to a T. I've had this one almost 2 hours, and it has yet to fade at all, which is rare for a sweet foody scent. I'm still not detecting any leather, or anything woodsy... just butter cream, vanilla, sweet foodyness. I don't get any Perversion out of this whatsoever, although I was hoping to because that's one of my favorite GCs.

    Pumpkin V (2008)

I was worried about the florals in this one because florals are always wrong on me, but this one is wonderful. It reminds me of walking by the Sweet Factory candy shoppe in the mall. I guess it's the strawberry and carnation that do that. The carnation doesn't smell floral-y, it smells spicy and sweet (actually like the spray we used to use on carns when I was a florist, which smells nothing like the flower itself. I like it better.) This is definitely sweet without being foody. I like it. I am only allowing myself to get one pumpkin bottle, and so far it's a tossup between... all of them except III.

    Pumpkin III (2008)

Umm... this might make me an alien, but I got a lavender/licac smell for a while after putting this on. I thought at first that maybe my decanter had confused some pumpkins as there were florals listed in another one and not in this one, but I can smell the citrus now, so it has to be this one. The lavender headache smell has almost disappeared and I can small grapefruit and a hint of sweet lemon. I like it better the longer I wear it, but all in all, I think I'm safe from this one.

    Pumpkin I (2008)

Oh my... This is a Yankee candle. I can't figure out which one, maybe Pumpkin Spice? It would make sense anyways. The local shop that sells Yankee candles was all I could think of when wearing this. It's a warm, spicy pumpkin. I didn't small any of the coconut, which I was disappointed with but it's still a nice scent. I don't know about Halloween but I think I will want to wear this one come Thanksgiving.

    Boomslang

Snake Oil with cocoa, teakwood, and rice milk. Velvet meets Snake Oil. I was a little hesitant to try this one because, as much as I like chocolate, I don't really want to smell like it. Wet, this is just Velvet. Identical to my nose. On the drydown, the Snake Oil peeks it's head out a bit and it becomes a really lovely scent. I will have to try this a few more times to see if I like it neough to keep it. It's definitely nice, but may be a scent I would like better in a candle than on my skin.

    Hades

This smells weird... First time I wore it, I couldn't even decide if I liked it or not. Second time wearing it, still weird, I don't really recognize any of the scents I smell but I'm not that familiar with the ones listed so I guess that's why. To describe this without the aid of the scent description, I would say it smells really herbal. I smell something like cinnamon, but not the warm cherry cinnamon most BPAL boasts... like a cinnamon stick, and a stale one at that. I also smell something kinda like... cloves maybe? and some sort of dark but not heavy incense. It's weird, and strong whiffs of it actually make me a little sick to my stomach even though it's not really a BAD scent, really. Probably won't wear this again. I don't smell any florals I recognize as florals in this, even though florals tend to go awful and overpowering on me.

    Aureus

I'm not sure why this is so wrong on me. I like resins, and amber, and woody scents, and incense, and pretty much everything that I have read in all the other reviews of this. It just smells like floral soap to me. Florals (in any form, as far as I can tell) and I don't get along, so when I smell something that threatens to give me a migraine on first whiff and has that soapy aspect to it, I assume the culprit must be a floral. But I haven't seen anyone else mention this. (Unless vetiver is a floral? I don't even know!) Anyways, I've tried this one twice and it's still a no-go. Swapper.

    French Love

A warm, soft, sexual blend. Sweet and alluring. Used to entice new lovers and add an aura of temptation and carnal sin to your environment. This definitely has a bit of Dragon's Blood in it, which rocks for me. All my favorite scents have that little hint of cherry cinnamon vanilla going on. It also has something sexier than just the DB in it, though I can't figure out what it is. Tonka? Honey? Something deep and sweet and creamy, but not foody or sick sweet. This one has moderate throw for me and the more it ages the deeper it gets and the more i like it... and the longer it lasts. Originally it would disappear within an hour or two, now I can smell it for a good 6 hours or so. I love it.
  9. Perversion, Lust, O, Snake Oil and French Love are all instant Ineedaman scents for me.
  10. I haven't tried many of the scents recommended but I have had very good luck with Chimera. It's Tonka, which is really just a richer vanilla it seems.

    Recs for Longest Lasting Oils

I have found some scents last longer than others, but I have also found that depending on how I apply it, some scents last way longer than themselves, too. For example, Velvet disappeared in 30 seconds flat the first time I tried it, because I put it on my wrists. If you put it on the inside of your elbows, it lasts all day. Also, I use coconut oil with my BPALs. Just take some oil, (doesn't have to be coconut) and put a few drops in your hand, and add a few drops of BPAL, and apply to neck and wherever. For some reason this does loads for wear time, and doesn't affect the scent much other than making some of then (Like Black Phoenix) a little less heady initially, which I have also found to be a benefit as some scents are so incensy to start off with that they give me a bit of a headache.

    All Night Long

The first time I tried this was a disaster. DBF and I stayed up all night alright- fighting. Somehow I didn't think that's what it meant. I could have done that without the smell, which was awful and gave me a headache anyways. But, 2 months later, I pulled it out again. And while DBF is no longer around so i can't attest to it's purported capabilities, it does smell a LOT better. It's not overwhelmingly old lady floral perfume anymore, and it pretty nice. It's still a bit heavier than I would like at first, but it calms down very nicely. It's kind of a woodsy, earthy cinnamon but there's something kinda sweet too, maybe honey? The imp is definitely a keeper, but I don't think I will be buying a full size of this one.

    Hetairae

I'm wearing this one today and I love it! It's a bit overpowering at first, but it dries down very nicely and I can still find it on my wrist... about 8 hours now after applying. I love honey scents, and BPAL does them so well. It's a very sweet but deep scent because the other notes in it contrast so well but blend perfectly. I can pick out the incense, and the fig, and some spicy something. I may just have to buy a bottle of this.

    Magdalene

I can imagine that this scent would be very nice for someone who likes florals, because it is a very complicated yet light scent. I got frimped with it so I gave it a try, but I don't do florals.

    Twilight

I think I ordered this one mostly based on the name. I'm not entirely sure why. It's the first floral anything I've ordered because I typically hate the smell of anything that claims to be 'floral' as far as commercial scents go, but I thought maybe I would like real oil 'floral' smells better. Turns out, I was wrong. This just gave me a headache.

    Love Me

I love this scent. It smells similar to Perversion to me-they both have a sort of cherry-cinnamon-vanilla thing going on that is perfect for me. But, most of the time, I will reach for the others in this group before this one, because it doesn't last as long. It is a bit softer, though, so I wear it if I'm feeling... umm... soft.

    Black Cat

I really loved the description of this one and was expecting to love it, but I just don't. It smells like there's a floral in there, but since joining here I've discovered there's a lot of flowers out there that I don't recognize by name! Many of the imps I've ordered have turned soapy floral to me. It does turn quite nice on the drydown, and I find that in this case, it's usually worth it to stash the imp somewhere and pull it back out in a month or two. The other notes come out more when it's let to age a tad.

    Eclipse

I absolutely adore Eclipse! It smells wonderfully fruity and sweet. However, it disappears within 5 minutes on me for some reason.

    Blood Kiss

Reminds me a bit of Lust as well. Definitely cherry vanilla yumminess. This is the first BPAL I decided to buy a full bottle of.
  20. OhioSky

    Blood

This one smells exactly like the description. It has a lot of Dragon's Blood, but a little something more... wet in it. It a very rich scent.
  21. OhioSky

    Black Pearl

I can definitely smell the coconut when applying, but it disappears very quickly. VERY quickly. It's a shame, because I do love coconut.
  22. OhioSky

    Inferno

Wow, that's Cinnamon! And not the sweet cherry-cinnamon I get with Dragon's Blood scents, but a hot fiery cinnamon. Like those fireball candies. After a few hours, it toned down and I could smell hints of something sweeter in there, maybe almond. it's definitely a lovely scent, but wow! what a kick in the butt.
  23. OhioSky

    Black Opal

This smelled like absolutely nothing on me. it smells like strong, cheap floral perfume in the imp, and then even that disappeared after putting it on.
  24. OhioSky

    Debauchery

I like this one! It's a mix between Perversion and Dragon's Blood on me. I smell a lot of cherry, which must be the red musk. This dies down after a while and it turns really vanilla-sweet on me, then fades away. It lasts longer than many scents on me, though.
  25. OhioSky

    Perversion

The description of this one caught me right away. This was in the first set of imps I ordered, months ago, and I got frimped with a second bottle in the same order. My first thought was "hmm, hope I like it..." And it must have been fate, for this is my all time favorite, sexiest, best scent ever. I could bathe in it. It's definitely a dirty scent... it's like a wet, sexy woman in a catsuit holding a whip in one hand and a clove cigarette in the other but while wearing some deceivingly innocent beautiful honey-vanilla perfume.
