  1. Super juicy and green. Plenty of throw. I hardly need a drop and I can smell it for ages. If you like Amsterdam then you'll probably love Slippery Poppy, too.

My nose agrees with Leopard403, cranberry, maribouquet, and Mamacat! This smells like a juicy tulip and a tiny bit of its stem. I love Amsterdam, and I love Slippery Poppy too!

  2. That looks like one of the ones that were sold on sites like eyespyeclectics.com, years ago, -- maybe 2003? it was before i was collecting BPAL but i remember seeing them on that site (gothic clothing; i don't think it's in operation anymore). there were about a dozen BPAL varities including Wilde, Absinthe, etc -- a lot of the early ones -- and they looked like that. those are the type of tags used for imps back in the day too. at the time i thought they looked neat but i didn't buy any because i didn't think i'd ever have a use for perfume oils! :D

You're totally right about the vintage - eyespyeclectics seemed to do a big blowout of a lot of their stock on ebay before they closed too (or at least I think that is what they did since they vanished after that and their webpage which they linked to in their ebay profile didn't work).

I picked up a couple bottles Satyr and Villian that are the same as yours from ebay in late 04 or early 05. :D I remember bidding on some Embalming Fluid and just not winning it at the same time as well.

So they DO exist! Really! :D

I also have a bottle like this that I purchased off of ebay from eyespyeclectics. And I am sorry to say, LupaWolf, that I think I was the evil one that snagged that bottle of embalming fluid (unless they were auctioning multiples) :P

  3. On me, Thunder Moon smells "flowery fresh", like a meadow of wildflowers after a storm. When I first put it on, the smell was very strong. The smell was slightly reminiscent of mountain rain dryer sheets, but without the itchy nose. (Scented dryer sheets usually make my nose itch, but I do like the smell.) After five minutes, it calmed down a bit. No more dryer sheet smell, just wet flowers. I think this is a very uplifting scent.

This also has great staying power. I tested it last night, and I can still smell it this morning.

    Thumbs up!

  4. Oki, I've looked at ALL 18.2 pages in this wonderfully evil thread (my to-try list has grown considerably!), but I've seen no mention of Dance of Death, which is one of my bestest favouritest scents! It smells like crushed dry November leaves with powdered bone sprinkled over top just for good measure.

Omen (and Nemesis, kinda sorta) comes close -- they have the warmth but not that dryness that I lust after. Any other ideas?

Anyone tried Spirits of the Dead or Dragon's Bone for comparison with Dance of Death?

    Kettu,

I haven't tried Dragon's Bone yet, but I have tried Spirits of the Dead. Spirits of the Dead smells like linden tea to me (almost a "fruity" tea) when I first put it on. After awhile, it is slightly woody. IMO, it's not a very dry scent. You might have better luck with Dragon's Bone. From the description, it sounds like a dry scent, but I haven't tried it:(

  5. Can anyone compare Hurricane and Storm Moon?  I love Storm Moon (ozone?  salty aquatic?  YUM.), but since I'm from the coastal Southeast I'm really curious about Hurricane :P.

I don't know if this is gonna help but....

To me, storm moon is a lighter, brighter aquatic scent whereas hurricane is heavier and darker. Storm moon is like a thundershower in the daytime, and hurricane is like a thunderstorm in the darkest part of the night.
