    Namaste

Origin - imp received in a swap. Wet - primarily lemongrass. Dry - still primarily lemongrass but with a lovely sweetness underneath. After an hour or two it becomes a calming blend of lemongrass and cedar. By the way, this has tons of throw. Even a few hours later I can smell this without sniffing my wrists, a rarity for me. My skin has a tendancy of amping up both lemon and cedar, and I guess lemongrass is no exception. I would like this much better if I got any of the sandalwood, jasmine, rose and patchouli notes. Even though I am not a big fan of lemongrass, this is lovely, and I will definitely hang on to the imp. On the wickedgoddess scale of 1 to 5, with 5 being best, this rates a 3.

    Vicomte de Valmont

Origin - gift imp from the lab. Wet - this smells very much like commercial men's cologne, and not in a pleasant way. Dry - Ugh, I really dislike this. It smells like cheap cologne and I am allergic to it, just as I am to cheap cologne. I go wash it off…it's still there. Wash it off a second time....now the musk is the most prominent. Wash it off a third time....yep, that's musk alright! On the wickedgoddess scale of 1 to 5, with 5 being best, this rates a 1.

    Blood Countess

Origin - gift imp from the lab Wet - I'm not sure what's not working for me in here, but something smells like dirty diaper. Dry - I still get the dirty diaper smell, mixed with plum. As it dries the foul smells fades and it begins to smell like overripe fruit with a twinge of decay. After an hour or two it's all plum. Considering how much I like Queen of Spades, I thought I would like this more. But sadly, it just doesn't work with my chemistry. On the wickedgoddess scale of 1 to 5, with 5 being best, this rates a 1.

    The Coiled Serpent

Origin - imp received in a swap. Wet - I really couldn't name what I am smelling, but looking at the boards I see that it is patchouli. It seems both familiar and darker than patchouli somehow. Dry - The patchouli note doesn't change at all, but I get some frankincense lurking about. This is a strong scent that wafts around me. It's very invigorating. Two hours later it is still going strong, I feel like I am enveloped in a cloud of fragrance. Several hours later this is still going strong, but has mellowed out to a beautiful patchouli scent. I like this quite a bit, but I don't love it, and I already own quite a few patchouli scents. On the wickedgoddess scale of 1 to 5, with 5 being best, this rates a 3.

    Dissipation

Origin - received in a swap Wet - Green! Primarily ivy. Dry - still very green, ivy and wormwood. If the poppy is present I don't notice it, and I don't get any sassafras at all. It reminds me of Whippoorwill, but not as complex. Pleasant enough, but not really for me. On the wickedgoddess scale of 1 to 5, with 5 being best, this rates a 2.

    Eve

Origin - Sampled at Black Broom Wet - Roses! This is an absolutely gorgeous light floral. Dry - I never get the apple blosson and honey, which are the ingredients I was most looking forward to. It's all roses and ylang ylang. Quite lovely, and I might buy a big bottle some day, but I wish the apple blossom and honey notes were more prominent. On the wickedgoddess scale of 1 to 5, with 5 being best, this rates a 4.

    Alice

Origin - Sampled (on two different occasions) at the Black Broom. Wet - very sweet and creamy. Dry - oh there it goes again, vanishing into my skin. It leaves behind a light spiciness, the carnation I presume, which is very nice. If it were a bit stronger I would be interested in this, but it's another milk-based blend that doesn't last on my skin at all. ETA - I got a new imp of this, and have a different opinion this time, so a new review! I had tried this before and hadn't really liked this, although with milk, honey and carnation I don't know how that would be possible. A frimp from the lab was the perfect thing to allow me to test this again. Wet - Primarily carnation. Dry - Carnation, a tingle of bergamot, and every now and then I get a lucious honey note. It doesn't last very long, but I do like this. I don't need a bottle right now, but I would consider one in the future. On the wickedgoddess scale of 1 to 5, with 5 being best, this rates a 4.

    Milk Moon 2005

Origin - Bottle purchased 5/23 at Black Broom. Preconceived notions - I love milk scents, but they don't love me. They usually fade away to nothing in a matter of seconds, but I still wanted to try Milk Moon, because it sounded so lovely. Still, I didn't have high hopes for it. Wet - oh my, this smells delicious! Rich and creamy, almost buttery. Dry - sadly this fades on me like all milk blends do, but it doesn't fade quite as much as the others! There's hope! This is odd because I can't smell it on my wrist at all, but I can smell it lightly wafting around me, so I know it's still there. I smell the same bottom notes as in Chaste Moon, presumably that's the lunacy blend, but this is more buttery than butterscotchy. There's some coconut in here too. After a few hours this truly becomes a light milk and honey scent. This is similiar to both Chaste Moon and Snow White, but I like it better than either of them. On the wickedgoddess scale of 1 to 5, with 5 being best, this rates a 4.

    Ra

Origin - Imp received in a swap. Wet - the same pungent spiciness I get from the other Stations of the Sun along with dirt. There is a note that doesn't work on me in here, I think it is the same amber that is in Haunted. It manages to smell both foul and powdery at the same time. I wish I were getting the scent the reveiwers mention on the board, because it sounds really good. Dry - After about an hour it mellows out, and I get some frankincense. But the foul, powdery scent is still there behind it. Add Ra to the list of scents that don't work on my skin. On the wickedgoddess scale of 1 to 5, with 5 begin best, this rates a 1

    Iambe

Origin - gift imp from the lab Wet - a sweet floral, primarily gladiola, and white tea. Dry - this is a fresh, light floral. The gardenia becomes more prominent as it dries and mingles with the gladiolas and tea.I don't smell any amber, rose, or patchouli in this at all. After an hour or two, the floral and tea are completely gone, and only amber is left behind. This is a very pretty light floral, and I love the tea note, but I already have a few light florals I like and really don't need another. But if I were considering another light floral, I would definitely think about this one. On the wickedgoddess scale of 1 to 5, with 5 being best, this rates a 3.

    Mabon 2004

Origin - decant from a forumite In the bottle - apple cider. Wet - Oh this is so good! Crisp apples and hops and sage and ivy and…too many scents flashing by, all delicious. Dry - It stays true to the wet scent, but then suddenly the blackberry wine comes crashing in, and it's very boozey. But that stage doesn't last too long. It settles down to apple cider and sage and I want to lick my wrists. I was debating buying a bottle of this unsniffed on eBay, but I didn't. Oh man, what a mistake; my next obsessive quest will be tracking down a big bottle of this. On the wickedgoddess scale of 1 to 5, with 5 being best, this rates a 5.

    Lughnasadh

Origin - Imp received in a swap. Wet - cherry cough syrup. Dry - At first it's still cherry with something underneath. As it dries, it becomes apparent that what is underneath is the same notes as in Samhain. This is Samhain with cherries instead of with pumpkins and apples. Unfortunately, as much as I love Samhain, I am not a cherry fan, so this doesn't work for me. But if you like cherries, it would be fantastic. On the wickedgoddess scale of 1 to 5, with 5 being best, this rates a 2.

    Succubus

Origin - tarted imp, received in a swap. In the bottle - I was initally afraid to try this because it smelled so bitter in the imp. Wet - Bitter neroli and the skin scent. Dry - This dries down nicely. The neroli is the most prominent note, followed by the clove. After awhile, the bitterness fades, leaving a soft, sensual skin scent. The description, "The scent of their skin is bittersweet, dusky and terminally seductive" fits this perfectly. This is a skin scent; once it dries there is minimal throw. Probably not a big bottle for me, but much nicer than I expected. On the wickedgoddess scale of 1 to 5, with 5 being best, this rates a 3.

    Saturnalia

Origin - impr received in a swap Wet - yuck! Dry - so that's what vetiver smells like. I have smelled it in blends where it doesn't bother me, but this, this bothers me. I had a similair reaction to Bloodlust , so now it know I was reacting to the vetiver in that as well. This is a dirty diaper smell covered up by flowers. It's a death scent, but not in a good way, it's the stench of decay covered by something overly sweet. Must go wash this off right now! I have now thoroughly scrubbed my wrists twice and guess what...it's still there! Why can't I get this can of last from the scents I do love? Interestingly, now that it's been washed off twice, I don't hate this anymore. The vertiver has mellowed and it's a green, earthy scent. Of doesn't smell horrible after it's been washed off...twice, isn't the best review. On the wickedgoddess scale of 1 to 5, with 5 being best, this rates a 1.

    Khephra

Origin - imp received in a swap Wet - a pungent spiciness that is similar to Ahathoor. Dry - oh no, this is that baby powder and dirty diaper scent I got from Haunted. I smell something herbal trying to break through, but the amber is overpowering it. The reviews sounded great, but this obviously isn't going to work on me. On the wickedgoddess scale of 1 to 5, with 5 being best, this rates a 1

    Ahathoor

Origin - imp received in a swap. Wet - Hmm…the spiciness of Morocco but with a citrus base. Dry - Pungent citrus, spices, and a touch of carnation. I think there is something herbal in here as well; maybe sage? Oooh, I just got some frankincense. This has a warm, sunshiny scent, with just a touch of exoticness. On the wickedgoddess scale of 1 to 5, with 5 being best, this rates a 3.

    Anubis

Origin - decanted by the lovely Ayrdaomei Sniffing the bottle to see if I want to try this today - oooh that smells good! Preconceived Notions - I love all things Egyptian, but I must admit that the ingredients of this are a bit off-putting. Myrrh is one of my favorite scents, but embalming herbs? I expected this to be dark and sharp and masculine. Wet - this smells golden and beautiful. I have no idea what I am smelling here, but I like it. There are certainly some ingredients in common with Cairo, because that golden honey/apple scent is here, but there is so much more going on. Dry - as it dries the myrrh comes to the forefront. Do I smell just a hint of rose? This is everything I like about Cairo, but amped up. Golden and sweet and spicy and incensy and absolutely incredible! I am going to order a big bottle of this right now, because this just shot to the number one position of catalog scents! On the wickedgoddes scale of 1 to 5, with 5 being the best, this rates a 5.

    The Dormouse

Wet - Yum, tea! Dry - this is already a keeper. The tea is quite prominent, but as it dries I am getting a floral scent; presumably the peony. A nice summery scent. On the wickedgodess scale of 1 to 5, with 5 being best, this rates a 4.

    Nefertiti

Origins - imp received in a swap. Preconceived notions - I love all things Egyptian and am making my way through all of Beth's Egyptian scents. So far I have loved them all! Wet - a soft, light floral. Dry - At first I get iris and olibanum (which I looked up and it's a resin that is similar to frankincense). I don't get either sandalwood or myrrh, which would really help ground this fragrance. This is a beautiful scent, lush and tranquil, but it is simply too light for my tastes. It also fades on me relatively quickly. I will try this one again, because if I get the sandalwood and myrrh this would be the perfect scent! As it is, I will hang on to the imp for those days I am in the mood for something soft, but I won't be moving up to a bottle. On the wickedgoddess scale of 1 to 5, with 5 being best, this rates a 3.

    Decadence

Origins - Imp received in a swap This imp leaked in shipping. I was going to wait to test it tomorrow, but it is sitting on my desk and I can smell it. At first I get almonds, but then I smell cherry, oranges, clove, cinnamon, and honey. Oh godddess, this one's calling my name! Must try it now! Wet - cherry-almond. Dry - luckily the cherry-almond fades quuickly into spicy orange honey. Most of the BPAL oils with honey haven't worked on me for one reason or another, but on this the honey is coming through strong, and I love honey! It smells like an orange clove ball sitting in a dish of honey. After about half an hour it's turned into fruit punch, with a little bit of rum. This is a near miss; I could have loved the orange spice version of this, but it's too fruity/foody for me the rest of the time. On the wickedgoddess scale of 1 to 5, with 5 being best, this rates a 3.

    Scorpio

Origins - part of a discontinued imp pack bought off of eBay from the lab. Preconceived Notions -BPAL does such a good job with Scorpio-like scents (such as Sin, Red Devil, Debacuhery and Queen of Spades) that, being a double Scorpio myself, I HAD to try their interpretation of Scorpio. I basically bought the imp pack just to try this scent, although the fact that most of the others in this imp paclk sounded appealing to me didn't hurt. Wet - Spicy, sweet and a little bit woody. Dry - cloves, cinnamon, musk and a wood element, not cedar, something else. This reminds me of Silk Road, only sexier. This is the silken tent off of the marketplace where you can buy anything if the price is right. On the wickedgoddess scale of 1 to 5, with 5 being best, this rates a 3. ETA - I pulled out my imp of this to retest it, since the lab has a bottle up on eBay now. Wet, it stills smells of me. I love how this smells wet! But dry, I was getting a scent that reminds me of civet, except I usually like civet. But it was the cat pee smell I here people talk about when they describe civet. Reading over the reviews, I realize it's not civet all all (whew!) but my nemesis, violet! LOL, violets smell like cat pee to me! Anyway, I am sadly going to have to revise my ranking of this from a 5 to a 3, because those violets on dry down seriously affect my enjoyment of this.

    Eidolon

Origins - part of a discontinued imp pack I bought from the lab off of eBay. Wet Wet - mostly lemon verbena, with a bit of woodsiness. Dry - Love! As it dries the verbena mellows just a touch, and the sage comes out. The cedarwood is very well behaved, which is surpising becaues my skin usually amps it up. This is a fresh, herbal scent, exactly what I have been looking for. Why oh why has this been discontinued? I need a bottle of this. On the wickedgoddess scale of 1 to 5, with 5 being best, this rates a 4.

    Queen of Spades

A contemporary incarnation of the tarot’s Queen of Swords. A card of decisive action, strength of Will, progressive action, justice, and, sometimes, revenge. The scent is a sophisticated, deep, and smoky floral with a decidedly exotic spice. Moroccan myrrh and black amber, with muguet, opoponax, deep black plum, cyclamen, galbanum, and wild blackberry softened by pear blossom and a swirl of exotic wood notes. Origins - decant received in a swap. Wet - Mmm…spicy wood! Dry - I am in love! It's all wood and myrrh with an undercurrent of plum and blackberry. As it dries the fruits come on very strong, but they quickly fade into the background, leaving that lovely wood note. The blackberry and the plum both resurface in waves. I wish I could find the pear blossom, because I love pear notes, but it really doesn't matter; this is heavenly. Must find a big bottle of this. On the wickedgoddess scale of 1 to 5, with 5 being best, this rates a 5.

    Imp

Origins - imp received in a swap. Wet - sweet, fruity musk. Dry - peach and musk, very sunny and golden smelling. I only get the tiniest trace of patchouli once this has dried for awhile. Very summery and pretty, probably not something I would wear often, but I will hang on to then imp. On the wickedgoddess scale of 1 to 5, with 5 being best, this rates a 3.

    Dia de los Muertos

... This is a Mexican paean to La Huesuda: dry, crackling leaves, the incense smoke of altars honoring Death and the Dead, funeral bouquets, the candies, chocolates, foods and tobacco of the ofrenda, amaranth, sweet cactus blossom and desert cereus. Origins - I love everythingDia De Los Muertos, and I had high expectations for this scent. Wet - Nothing in particular stands out, maybe a slight liquor smell, but that's about it. Dry - Candy corn! The predominent note besides the candy is rather cactusy, probably the cactus blossom. I don't any chocolate or tobacco, which makes me sad. I like this because it's sweet and festive and really does remind me of Dia De Los Muertos. It's an atmosphere in a bottle. I am rather neutrul on the scent itself; I neither like nor dislike it. I don't really see myself wearing this very often, but it is fun. On the wickedgoddess scale of 1 to 5, with 5 being best, this rates a 3.
