    Persephone

In the bottle: Lush juicy pomegranate! Wet: See above, sweet but not too sweet, very nice juicy fruity smell. Drydown: The rose starts to come up and mingle with the pomegranate. OMG these two scents where made to be together. The rose keeps the pomegranate from being to sweet and foody, and pomegranate gives the rose a nice juicy twang. It pretty mutch kept that scent for the next few hours. It faded really fast, but then again I was cleaning all afternoon so I'm sure that did not help. Persephone is a beautifull summer day blend.

    Sacred Whore of Babylon

I had no clue how this would smell from the description, I admit it, I got an imp soley for it's name. I figured if I could pull this one off, hell yes I wanted a perfume called Sacred Whore of Babylon, and you can bet your ass I will be wearing it over to the inlaws the next time I happen to wander over there. *evil grin* I could not do this one justice trying to describe it. It's way to complex for me to put my finger on any one thing but insense! In the bottle it's a very heavy sweet floral, wasn't all that impressed at first whiff. But once I got it on I was head over heals. This stuff is amazing. On me it's mostly inscense with something sweet, something spicy, and something floral playing around in the back ground. After a few hours of wear this turns into the most sexy dark smokey vanilla. I can not stop smelling myself when I wear it, not that I need to spend the whole day with my wrist glued to my nose. It's very strong and I can smell it every time I move. It lasts all day long too. Honestly, this is a very heady blend, probably best suited for special occasions. Sutch as a night out when your going to be dressing up, or a night in when you plan on dressing down. Not that I care, it's so damn good I wear it all the freaking time! ETA: The first time I wore this I was on my period, and my overactive hormones really love to amp up any kind of inscense note. I wore this one almost exclusivley that week, and then I finally moved on and tried out the rest of my imps, when I finally came back to the Sacred 'Ho I coudn't believe it, but it was even better! Since my hormones weren't making the Myrrh go haywire I could smell more of the lovely spicy floral, and the myrrh became more of a back ground note. I really thought that Three Witches was going to take it's place as "The Favorite BPAL", but nope, she's still holding the #1 spot.

    Hellfire

I'll warn you in advance that my review of Hellfire is going to suck. Anyway, I was so anxious to try this one out. Just reading the notes and the reviews was turning me on! Pipe tabacco, leather, musk and brandy, oh yes! In the bottle it's awesome, musky and boozy and lovely pipe tobacco. On me Hellfire smelled like crap My chemistry hated this. All cheap inscense and baby poweder. Whatever, it's not like I bought it for me anyway! Now on Mr. Rainy this smelled just like I had hoped it would. He had a very good night by the way. He thought it was way to strong for him to wear as is, but promised to give it another shot if I found something to dilute it with. No problem!

    Endymion

I had very high hopes for Endymion. Pear and white musk, mmmm. I'm not all that familiar with lilly of the valley or bois du rose, but I've never met a lilly or rose I did not like the smell of. This sounded right up my alley, and it was (sort of). In the bottle: Mmmmm rose smeared with fresh pear, loving it so far. Wet: Once I get this on the pear really stands out, more so than in the bottle, and there is the rose, didn't really pick anything else up at this point. Dry down: This is where Endymion started playing he loves me, he loves me not with my chemistry. Five minutes after application I really had to sniff hard to smell it on my wrist, and I smelled disenfectant, yech. I reapplied, there is the rose and pear again. And so it went for the next two hours. The pear faded out rather quickly. One moment it would be the most lovely white floral, with the musk giving it a nice clean finish. Like the scent of flowers floating on a cool spring breeze. And then I'd smell again and it would be soap, and not a nice soap either, disenfectant soap. After two hours the florals took a back seat, and thank the Gods that awfull soapy disenfectant smell never came back. All of a sudden it was lovely white musk with just the faintest breath of floral. Now this I like, and it stayed that way for the rest of the evening. I can still smell it now almost eight hours later, which is a real suprise because I though this one would fade in to ovlivion rather quickly. Final verdict: Endymion is definatly a keeper, even if it was rough going there for a while. It never got bad enough that I wouldn't bear through the I think I want to smell like crap on you stage to get to that beautifull musky finish. I'm hoping it was just a hormone thing making it go wonky, it is that time of the month.

    Black Phoenix

Black Phoenix and my chemistry did not play well together at all. It was the first BPAL I sniffed (what can I say it seemed appropriate), and I was blown away by the overpowering sickly sweet smell of almonds. I mean it screamed almond in the bottle. I imediatly put the cap on and moved on to other smellies. It was awhile before I actually worked up the courage to try it, and that only came after noticing how other blends changed so dramatacly on my skin. On second sniff in the bottle I decided that it wasn't just almond, but cherry almond. Alot like original Jergens lotion (a smell I actually like) but with a major case of ADHD. Wet: more of the same, sickly sweet cherry almond. dry down: This is where things went from bad to worse. I'm convinced this has frankinscense in it, suddenly it started to turn into cheap dollar store inscense on me, as do the two other blends I've tried with frankinscense. The almond toned down a little, but the cherry got even more candyish. Dry: Yep cheap inscense and cherry lollipops, not a good combo at all. After smelling this way for about an hour I finally gave in and washed it off. I've tried other blends that where meh, I liked them, but wasn't wild about them. Black Phoenix was the first blend that I actually disliked (allthough it now has company in Eclipse and Hellfire, see the frankinscense just does not like me). I would like to see how this one works on someone who can get away with it though, maybe I'll test it out on the husband before I swap it away.

    Alice

I wasn't sure how I would like Alice, but she quickly became one of my favorite scents. In fact I would say she is tied with Sacred Whore of Babylon for the number one spot right now. In the bottle: very floral, I can definatly smell the rose and carnation having a party in there, and in the back ground is just a wee bit of creamy sweetness. On wet: I'm amazed at the transformation once it hits my skin. The milk and honey take over and the carnation makes Alice smell like a very milky sweet cup of tea. Dry down: The rose comes out a little more, reminds me of a little girls tea party in the middle of a rose garden on a sunny spring day. Dry: On me Alice is mostly milk and honey, but the rose and carnation keep it from being overly sweet. It reminds me of a young lady just dicovering the world beyond her back yard for the first time. Or a crazy mad world of white rabbits, chesire cats and loony tea parties! I'd say Beth captured the essence of Alice just prfectly.

    Jack

This is my first review (first post actually). I was drooling over Jacks description, but decided to wait untill closer to fall before ordering. Then I saw it being sold on LJ so I jumped on it, I'm so glad I did because it's not an autumn scent on me at all. In the bottle: Smells like melted butter and pumkin pie spices, but not a hint of pumkin anywhere. wet: Ok, it smells a bit like pumkin briefly when I first put it on, but still mostly butter and spice, and then the peach comes out, oh boy does the peach come out! dry: It's all peaches and butter and spice, smells exactly like a peach cobbler fresh out of the oven. I love Jack, it's my perfect just want to be comforted scent. Makes me want to put on something comfy and curl up on the coutch with a good book and a cup of tea. While it wasn't the pumkin pie scent I was hoping it was, I will definatly order a 5ml of this.
