  1. CTIII: CDLVIII(458)

In The Bottle: Almond and Cherry?

Wet, On Skin: Almond, after about 1min. something green comes out, faintly minty.

Dry, On Skin: the Cherry turns out to be Papaya! (thanks graycat for helping me figure this out!)

15 Minutes: Starting to smell creamier.

30 Minutes: Light, creamy, almondy floral, minimal throw.

45 Minutes and Beyond: Faint, creamy, almond scent, very minimal throw.

This would be a migraine-sufferer's dream scent: very pretty, but very soft.

    CTIII: CDLIX (459)

In the Bottle: Syrupy fruit, maybe cherry?

Wet, On Skin: Fruity! reminds me of Kuntskammer, but smoother. After about 1min. starts to morph into cinnamon gummi bear scent.

Dry, On Skin: Smells just like a cinnamon gummi bear, maybe its cassia? I know cinnamon was omitted from the experiment, but maybe cassia was allowed? If not, maybe its carnation, but it even feels like a cassia or cinnamon blend!

    15 Minutes: Cinnamon with cherry?

30 Minutes: Cinnamon cherry candy (gummi bears), has pretty good throw.

45 Minutes and Beyond: Sweet cherry candy scent, medium throw.

    I really like this one!!

  2. I ordered an implet of this a long time ago, and I remember it not

working on me. This is a scent I wanted to try again, because my

tastes have evolved over the year+ that I have been into Black Phoenix

Alchemy Lab. I am thinking the description is what caused me to not

totally grasp the beauty of this scent before: I was expecting

something 'light' and yes, I realize the description reads "true,

perfect, golden light" but somehow in my mind I translated that into

light in body! Coming back to it now, I realize where Beth came from

with that, And wholeheartedly agree that it is incomparably glorious!

This scent is a patchouli-lover's olofactory orgasm. I have always

loved patchouli, so I am rather befuddled as to why I diddn't fall for

this the first time around. Aureus is woody and resinous and has light

and depth, it does feel golden to me. It feels like light falling

through amber resin, drenching me in honey-colored-amber warmth. I'm

hooked now, and feel I must go for a few bottles of this 'cause I have

the feeling a bit of aging could only make it better.

  3. Oh my, I loooove this.

I got to try this because of the General Catalog Circular Swap!

My impression wet was, sweet, fruity, darkened, YUM!

Sniffing this dry, well, you guys are all going to think I'm nuts, but it bears a strong resemblance to Midway + fruits! It smells buttery and sweet to me. You may not want to base your experience on this though, 'cause I have some pretty wacky chemistry sometimes.

  4. Smoky, Musky, Sultry, Creamy, Fruity. Good lord, this is ineffably beautiful. I wish I could pin it down, but have to accept that it is so well blended that I can not pick out any one thing. I get the feel of it, just not individual components. The throw is mild, a bit stronger than Black Opal, compared to which I get similar background creaminess. I don't care, though.

I want to pour gallons of Hymn to Proserpine on a marble slab and roll around in it naked.

    10ml, immediately.

    *edit for spelling*

  5. I think Urd is in Excolo, so a search at the Lab site. Alternately, search for patchouli or muscadine(the berry in Urd)

My votes: (because i am obsessed with patchouli too)

    Urd

    Imp (in Diabolous I think)

Depraved (if you don't like it at first, let it sit for a while and come back to it)

    Scherezade

    Lust

    Dragon's Bone (for sandalwood)

    Morocco

    Sin

    Tarot: Judgement

  6. First off, I must say that this oil is, so far, the prettiest colored Black Phoenix Oil I have seen. It is perfectly hot orange, and if you know me, you know how much I love the color orange.

In the bottle this is Amber and Dragon's Blood in all their amazing glory. So beautiful.

As soon as this hits my skin, it is predominantly Dragon's Blood. Then, a minute later, my weird-ass chemistry turns this into the MOST BEAUTIFUL laundry detergent smell EVER.

I have no idea how my body does this, but I seriously make this smell like amazing laundry! If you have ANY idea why this happens, PM me!

I love it, it is in my top 10. I bought a 10ml. It lasts and lasts on my skin and is a big hit with my husband.

  7. On me, this smells like powder somehow, but the smell is not what makes this blend so freaking amazing. It is the way people react to me when I wear Charisma. I get all sorts of good attention: compliments, hugs, a few people have followed me around hanging on my every word. I swear! I feel strange writing this, I have a problem saying/writing things that sound like boasting, but its not what i'm doing, it is ALL about Charisma. I have not changed the way I do things when I wear it, but I am amazed at the change in those around me. The way my husband acts is my favorite part! He's like a puppy! Seriously like puppy-love! I can't get enough. I have never used so much of any oil in such a short time, either. I am so in love with the way people react to this scent, that even though I miss all my usual favorites, I can't help but wear this almost all the time. (also, applying it to all my chakra points in addition to my usual places) I never want to be without this oil. For a person with lifelong self-esteem issues, its the most useful thing in the world.

I can not thank Beth enough for the gift of her creation. :P

  8. there are so many in my box o' bottles that qualify as good autumn scents, but one that doesn't get much mention that i really have been looking forward to wearing is Malkuth. it totally reminds me of this oil i used to buy in a local witchy shop that is long gone that was for Autumn Equinox. i was born a little over 2 weeks after the equinox and have always felt a special affinity with it, anyways, whenever i wore that Autumn Equinox oil i would get compliments like mad and it was a spicy fall scent, i looooved it, and the point of that ramble is that Malkuth is the very closest thing to that oil that i have ever found. it has to be aged a couple months after recieving it from the lab to get at the precise scent i'm talking about though. but it is way worth the wait!

  9. Black Opal is beautiful. I was instantly curious about this scent, as I am an October baby, and have always loved my birthstone with a passion! This amazing masterpiece truly lives up to my high expectations.

It is truly soft, as in black silk velvet soft. I get a coconut "feel" from it, while not being able to place any one scent as an ingredient. I honestly never get a powder phase, but it is seriously soft. Black Opal has a soft sexiness about it, sophisticated. Like a woman who knows she is deadly gorgeous, but never really "throws" it out there. What I'm trying to say is that I love this scent and I highly reccomend it, hopefully I made at least a little sense!

  10. A Little Lunacy:

This Full Moon marks the time of the year when the new antlers of buck deer emerge from their foreheads, coated in soft velvet. This is a time of masculine vigor, thunder, balmy nights, glorious sunlight and hot winds. Buck Moon is an animalistic, deep scent: an amplification of one’s natural musk coupled with forest herbs, a hint of clear, warm evening air and a crystalline spark of lunar oil.

I figured since I got to purchase this on the Buck Moon, from the Black Broom, I would review it on it's special day!

This oil really surprised me. I was expecting something much more in your face, so to speak.

It is quite lovely, actually, very sexy.

I mostly smell the warm musk and evening air notes. In the bottle, I smell the herbs, but not on my skin. On my skin, it smells like clear evening air, with a lovely, soft musk underneath.

Throw is good, but not overpowering. And has lasted quite while, too!

I wish I was a better reviewer, but I wanted there to be at least one review on the day of the Buck Moon!

  11. I imagine my brain, sloshing about in a liquid-filled canister, on its way to Yuggoth.

If my brain could smell this incredible scent on its journey, it would feel calm and soothed. Relaxed, cruising through space.

Wet in bottle: Smooth peppery pineapple. When I say smooth, I mean Smooth.

Wet on skin: I immediately get a Springy floral, then the pepper and pineapple start coming out quick.

Dry on skin: Sweet, smooth fruity goodness. The pepper is there, its just so smooth and blended so well that nothing is shouting over anything else.

My friend Jacq. says, "it smells like good."

I will add more later on if I think of anything else!

  12. I've been wearing Chaste Moon to bed and my husband actually sniff-sniff-sniffs all close to my skin in the morning. Like some of the other posts here, my husband's sense of smell is greatly diminished by his allergy to our obsession- my 11 year-old kitty, Ivy -so it really is remarkable that he noticed it without any prompt at all. I havn't tried anything on him yet, I hope he'll let me put something on him! Suggestions?

Scherezade, Imp, and Lust definitely illicit playful reactions when I smell myself, which is good for the husband! :P

Slightly off-topic: I wore Morocco+Scherezade to work (Sephora) the other day, and one of the girls came up to me and asked, "why does it smell like incence in here?" I said, "its ME." and she seemed bummed about it. I was totally offended! Now I feel like I shouldn't wear my favorite perfume to work! :D whatever.

  13. I really love Chaste Moon!

In the bottle, to me, it smells so buttery. I don't get a butterscotch scent, just soft, buttery, delicate warmth. I can detect the floral aspect, but it is so gentle and sweet.

On my skin it pretty much stays true to my above description. I have been wearing this to sleep every night since I got this, and I actually can really still smell it on my skin when I wake up.

Overall, I hold this blend in very high regard. I wish I could order it still! It is so soft and comforting to me.

    Excellent, excellent job, Beth!
