  1. A love oil with a twist. Attracts new friends & lovers to your life by enhancing your personal magnetism and charisma.

I received an imp from a lovely forumite.

I wanted very much to like this; adding people to my life is one of my primary goals right now. Unfortunately, rose reacts badly with my chemistry and, on me, this scent is pure rose. It's very long lasting - even after showering I still smelled of rose.

ETA: I was able to use this for its intended purpose later, when my allergies were less troublesome. People seemed much friendlier, and I felt more open to other people on the days I wore this.

  2. Generally vetiver makes me queasy, but it works in this blend -- I've found that is true of other notes in the Lab's blends. I used Determination while simultaneously quitting a habit I'd recently picked back up [tobacco] and moving house. I've also been working in extended therapy sessions that are difficult to get through.

Others had noted in reviews that it kept them working past the time they should have stopped, so I set very specific goals for each time I used Determination. In quitting an addiction [in my case, tobacco] the indefinite time period that others experienced was a positive thing.

    5/5

  3. Clarity is like an imp's ear of spiritual/psychological smelling salts. Lately I find myself drifting off in traffic, or spinning in circles as I try to remember which of 10 things I was trying to do or find.

Behind the lemon balm - a little soapy, but not unpleasantly so - I smell mint.

  4. After a suggestion from lissalissa in the TAL area I decided to work with Crucible of Courage as part of my work on PTSD.

At first this reminded me of a woodsy scent similar to a cologne for men that I love and have both given and worn, although I haven't smelled it in about 20 years. Reading the above posts, and trying to identify specific notes [not something with which I'm gifted] I realized that it's not at all similar. I was responding to the feeling of security that I associated with that scent. Although floral notes usually don't work on me [excepting neroli] this blends with my chemistry in a lovely way.

I've used this several times since receiving my decant from a kind forumite, and every time it has worked wonderfully. I plan to put it into my little 'emergency tin' that I carry with me, and hope to buy a bottle.

  5. Healing smells of lemon verbena, and the scent lingers much longer than most of the TAL oils I've been able to try. Last night my knees were swollen and painful and did not respond to anti-inflammatories, ice, or a prescription medication. Then I remembered that I had purchased an imp of Healing from a kind forum member recently. Before going to bed, I rubbed the oil into my knees, asking for restored health, and planned to use in a ritual today.

This morning my knees were back to their normal size and completely pain free; I'll be able to clean the house before the ritual. I rarely write reviews, but this oil is truly magical for me. It will be my next purchase.

  6. I received Lionheart just as family members were about to make a poorly-timed visit. I hoped that applying it after concentrating on my goals would be helpful, as there was no time for a ritual. My goals were to be able to maintain a pleasant and loving demeanor toward my guests although I was not feeling either at that time, and I thought Lionheart was appropriate because I was dreading the next several days.

The morning after my guests' arrival, they told me that one family member had forgotten his prescriptions, including heart medicines. They ended up leaving shortly after lunch that day. He's usually a very methodical person, but of course anyone can run off without their medicine box.

While part of me thinks this was merely a coincidence, I really don't believe it. Hoping to buy a bottle.

Scent: I'm not good at picking out notes, but this dries down to a powdery sweetness on my skin and reminds me of baby shampoo.

  7. I received an imp of this just as I'm contemplating an unwelcome move. I'm not very good at picking out notes, but I bought a braid of sweetgrass last weekend, and to me it smells a lot like that...down to the dust from where the braid had been on the shelf. I don't get the olive/brine scent that so many others do, but it smells wonderful to me, and it's certainly working :P

ETA 2nd day: The smoke just appeared...dunno where it was yesterday, but it's quite strong. Perhaps I used a different soap and they interact differently?

  8. i am totally confused too as my post office said that anything shipped usps priority in the us should not take more than 3-4 days at the longest.

That's what my post office tells me when I send anything out via Priority Mail, but they always take at least a week to arrive anywhere-even if it's next f'g door. A complaint to the post office resulted in me not getting any mail at my house for over 2 weeks. :P

that's how my post office is. someone has probably mentioned this, but there is a reason for the term "going postal"

  9. well, it did, but it was because my credit card expired before the order was processed (i had the new one, but it wasn't good until 04/01) but after it was placed. i was just as happy to use paypal after learning that elizabeth gets more of the money.i had originally placed the order about a week before, then emailed elizabeth about making a change(must have *big* bottle of snake oil)...and she suggested i cancel and reorder. so it wasn't a big deal

  10. i've tried water of notre dame 2x now, and although no one else has mentioned it, i keep getting whiffs of what seems to be musk. as musk and i generally don't get along, i thought i'd ask you nice ladies and gents: what would you recommend for a calming/soothing/centering sort of scent. i've discovered today that i like oneroi once the lavender blends instead of jumping out at you. until i found bpal i just wore a single note, neroli, if that's any help.

    thanks!

  11. i didn't think i'd like this, but once it was on, it was like the scene in old movies where the mousy secretary whips off her glasses, lets down her hair, nips in her waist, and is revealed as a sexy bombshell. it also got me through a trip to the dentist. definitely a must-have in a bottle.
