  1. I get the cake and a wee bit of currant, but overall it is a very gourmand, foody blend. And, well blended. Although I am not a fan of buttery or bakery type scents in general, this is a wonderful blend for those baked goods lovers out there.

  2. I love grapefruit, I love lime, I love nectarine, I love all things fruity and I love pink. I wanted to love Croquet and I do, if only for the 1 minute I can smell it on my skin.

In the bottle: It smells like a gum I used to love when I was little- I think it was called Fruit Stripe and had a zebra on the package.

On my skin wet: Pink Lime all the way with a little effervescence to it. Bright, fruity, happy- I love it.

In my skin dry: What happened to it? Where did it go? I get nothing- no musk, no patchouli (thankfully), and not really anything else. So sad...no bottle in my future.

  3. In the imp: Sweet, red wine

Fresh on the skin: Red wine with a dark, spicy undertone that morphs to include some peripheral rose.

Later: The wine scent faded and rose and myrhh and something dark came out to play.

  4. Chocolate, chocolate and more chocolate. A creamy chocolate that smells consistent in the bottle and on the skin and gently fades away. The chocolate note reminds me of Love-Lies-Bleeding, but this is much creamier and less bold than Love. A great one for straight chocolate lovers, especially because it is not too foody!

  5. Velvety chocolate with a note similar to candy butcher. I get foody with a little floral, but I am not sure what kind of flower. I don't think jasmine, at least not the one that goes yucky on me. This is an intense scent that is quite bold. Very pretty, but it overwhelms me a little.

  6. I love the bottle, and I love aquatic scents. But, I don't love leather or rum notes. It started off as a beautiful, light salty sea scent, but then the leather and rum amped up on my skin. Unfortunately, this is not a keeper for me!

  7. I got this as a frimp in a swap, and I was so excited to try it as it has been on my want list for a while. In the imp, I can smell bergamot and spices. On my skin, it is all baby powder. Obviously, not too masculine, but girlie, powdery and fresh. I was hoping this would be a keeper, but alas, I will pass it along to a new home! :P

  8. This is a strong Starlight peppermint candy...a little dry, not too sweet. I have not tried Lick It Again, but I imagine I would prefer the sweetness as this one gives me "chilly" nose. I can feel the sharpness of the mint (and I am a huge mint fan)!

  9. In the bottle: Aquatic, forest, pine, clean

On my skin: More aquatic, more pine.

This is a very dense pine with some overtones of an aquatic. It is much thicker a scent than Skadi to my nose. Nonetheless, as with all of Beth's pine blends, I am blown away.

  10. This is a deep, dark floral with some woodsy undertones, and a note that definitely reminds me of jasmine. It reminds me of flower blooming in a southern swamp or another damp, murky place. While not a scent for me, it is well-balanced and has a moderate throw and a lot of lasting power.

  11. In the bottle, I get lots of jasmine. On my skin, I get lots of jasmine, but can definitely smell some spices, which are almost creamy. This perfume is perfect for a confident, mature woman- which, unfortunately, is not me. The fragrance is very heady, and I tend to prefer lighter florals and fruity scents! :P

  12. I love the bottle, I love the name, and I want to love the scent....but, it is not a top ten BPAL blend for me. I had such high hopes for it. But, like a lot of others around here, I don't get any cherry. On me, it is a lighter Monster Bait: Under Bed. The cassia (spice) note is not as prominent as it is in MB:UB, and the other notes blend to a light graham cracker without honey scent. I would love more cherry and more chocolate. But, I still love the little groundhog on the bottle and will probably keep it just because it puts such a smile on my face!

  13. I am not a huge fan of Snake Oil, but I am a huge fan of the Lab's minty scents. They are undoubtedly my single favorite category of Lab scents, so I had to try this one.

In the bottle: It smells like warm, spicy mints. Lots of mints. No vanilla, no citrus, no cream, but exotic spices and mints.

On my skin: Initially, the mint note is strong and warm. I love it. As it dries down and morphs, it changes into a spicy Snake Oil companion with a little bergamot and a little tea.

I understand the Dorian comparison although it is not as creamy, sweet or vanilla-y.

Nonetheless, this is a keeper for me. And, the little green snake on the bottle is adorable!

  14. Inspired by and created for my beloved Tedwin: my eternal, beautiful, wicked Dorian Gray. Refined, elegant, and lovely, with a noble bearing and seemingly gentle air. This blend is an artful deception: a sweet gilded blossom lying over a twisted and corrupted core. A Victorian fougere with three pale musks and dark, sugared vanilla tea.

This scent is so wonderful and is one of my all-time favorites. Admittedly, I don't wear it that often because I fear over-using it and not reacting to it the way I do now.

In the imp, I smell lavender, lemon and milky tea.

On my wrist, I get no lavender, and instead a beautifully blended strong sugary, vanilla tea with cream. It smells almost spicy and rich and creamy. I love it!

  15. I ordered a 5ml of this based upon the notes. And, I am glad that I did.

In the bottle: I can pick out the aquatic notes, iris, and something sweet. But, unlike others I don't really get the mint, lime or apple.

On the skin: I can still smell the aquatic notes and iris, but now I get a warm mint and some tart fruit. It is extremely well-blended, and sporty without being masculine. I love this blend.

It lasts for many many hours, and on my skin, it did not change too much except to fade away.

  16. Totally in love with this scent- it is true fresh and light pine with some berries and some air. I can't get enough of it, and am hoping that I can find a replacement in one of the 2005 holiday scents. I have worn this almost everyday during December 2005, layered with a pine and coconut body lotion, and I am already sad that the Christmas season is going to pass so soon. Thank you for making one beautiful, evocative scent.

  17. Golden peaches with vanilla. I definitely smell the peach and amber- they combine on my skin to almost introduce a "tea" note to the mix. I am not sure what heliotrope smells like, but I do detect a slight floral note too. It is beautifully blended, and has quite a bit of lasting power. I put it on over 3 hours ago, and it is still going strong.

  18. I think 13 is the perfect fall scent- not too heavy, still sweet with a little fruit, but also creamy and warm. The chocolate is not as "in your face" as with Bliss, which isn't a scent for me. 13 on the other is much softer and more floral although I can't specifically identify the floral note. I love this one and hope I can find more when I run out! :P

  19. My mom and I are making a trip out to Disneyland next week (I am coming from Connecticut, and she is coming from Florida). I need some recommendations for scents to take with me to wear. I have tons, both LEs and regular catalog- in other words too many to list. None of them, however, have patchouli or anything earthy in them. I am hoping that all of you experts can suggest some to take with me!

    Thanks!
