    What do bottles and labels look like?

    I LOVE the F5 label Not sure yet about the CD labels--how's the resolution on them? Hard for me to tell from the photos.

    Cake, cookies, donuts, baked goods, even Cinnabon

    Beaver Moon!! The aged stuff is *so divine*
  5. I think pretty much anything with spice is sexy! Harvest Moon 06 is really a great sexy scent, I think, because it smells rich and spicy and slightly "gourmand" without feeling "heavy" (it's the green tea and sage, I think).

    Scents for late summer into autumn

    Dia De Los Muertos is perfect for this time of year! So is Harvest Moon, Snake Charmer...really, any of BPAL's heavier scents. For actually *cold* weather, I prefer spray perfumes, as I find that cold air generates so little throw for perfumes oils, which generally stay pretty close to the skin, that no one can smell me in the winter when I'm wearing BPAL ;;

    Recs for Longest Lasting Oils

    I find heavily-spiced scents to be the most long-lasting on me--scents like Three Witches, the Harvest Moons, etc. Also try resins (Cathedral, Jacob's Ladder).

    Et Lux Fuit

    I just LOVE the note list of this blend! It strikes me as very bright and colorful, like the note list in Fee, and from the beginning, I was hoping thiat Et Lux Fuit would be at least remeniscent of Fee. Plus, I love the name.... I primarily get a sharp, slightly soapy floral from this--not good, as BPAL florals and I don't get along =( they tend to go nasty or just plain banal on me. This is, I think, one of my more preferred BPAL floral scents though...the citrus notes blend nicely into the floral notes, with amber and honey providing a sort of transparent overlay to the blend (I WOULD have liked more amber, though =(). The vanilla musk is very, very faint in this blend, which is sad because I love vanilla musk! A decent blend, but I'll prolly end up swapping it away. Plus, I kinda think the bottle art is fugly x.x; nekkid white-haired guy....;;
  9. I think Harvest Moon 06 smells very much like autumn leaves

    Chaos Theory III: Strange Attractors

    DCCLVIII (no idea what number this is....) Bugger all! Strawberries, carmelized sugar, and cream....a little Sugar Skull-ish. Better than a random floral, I suppose.

    Harvest Moon 2006

    OOO! I smell tart apples, spices, herbs, and autumn leaves...the green tea "brightens" the scent a little, making it seem a bit more buoyant and "crisp" than last year's version (so if you weren't terribly hot on HM 05 but still like autumnal BPALs, give this one a shot!). This is wonderfully evocative, though it smells nothing to my nose like Lughnasadh or Mabon (DARN!). I like this much better than last year's version.

    oo ty! for some reason I was thinking more harvests and fields Maybe its the "apples!!" in the reviews and the comparisons to Lughnasadh and Mabon (OMFG:faint:). But pretty! =D

    Baneberry

    Oooo this is nice!! I usually can't deal with BPAL fruity scents, but this is a subdued herbal blackberry....a tiny bit of a soapy tinge to it, but it's not turning to fruit punch on me. This would be especially nice as a shampoo scent, I think

    Hungry Ghost Moon 2006

    I really like this! The dominant note is the white grapfruit, which is slightly tart but with a slightly berry juiciness. I also get hints of biting, smooth ginger, which compliments it nicely, and the white sandalwood (which kinda melds with the ginger, I think). I think I might also be smelling the rice wine in the topnotes, along with the white grapfruit, although there's no boozy note at all. The smokey vanilla (very faint) and musk (delicate) become apparent upon drydown, and I don't really get anything herby at all.

    What Scent Is This?

    Could be that someone decanted/dumped imps into an empty bottle with the wrong label. Josey, hun, where did you mean to post this? It ain't got nuthin' to do with aging... I'm one of the silly sods who unknowingly sent her a wrongly labelled Baghdad, and I swear it was straight from the Lab, albeit a quite few months ago (checking my records, I ordered it October last year, so it would have arrived late November/December). (Sorry it's off topic, just wanted to answer, please move this with joseybird's post to wherever it's meant to be!) @_@; I dun think I knew where to post it....*looks sadly at her...20 ml of Bengal X_X*

    Carceri d'Invenzione

    I KNOW that sweet, almost juicy note! It's the blond tobacco from Caron's Tabac Blonde! Holy crap! This is definately a scent for Three Witches and Bengal lovers. I had feared that it would resemble Penitance, which I wasn't hot on, but I barely get any frankincense here, or if I do, I don't get the bitter, sour topnote that usually kills frankincense for me. There's an almost greenish element here, which I can't identify, and the black pepper is strong and biting, although the smooth woods in the backgrounds--which add their own hint of sweetness--give this scent more depth than most other BPAL spicy/woody scents I've smelled. The woodiness in fact reminds me strongly of Dee, but the composition overall is more complex. Of the three Salon scents I've tried, this is definately my favorite. It's an oddly refreshing spicy woods scent that makes me long for a hike in the woods or or a log cabin fragrant with old polished wood and aromatic spices.
  22. If you like Old Scratch, you'll LOVE Serge Lutens Gris Clair...more sophisticated and subtle

    What Scent Is This?

    I have unfortunately discovered, through two swapped bottles, that at some point, there was a Bengal/Baghdad labeling mix-up; I'm now the owner of two bottles of Bengal with Baghdad labels

    o.o; odd...I don't smell patchouli at all in Aeval! At least...I don't think I do...<.<;;; *can never be sure, really*
