    Dragon's Eye

This smelled very salty on me, too similar to Dragon's Tears. After a while, it did become more floral than aquatic, but I think I'll just stick with Dragon's Tears when I'm in that kind of mood.

    Cerberus

This was a very interesting blend. In the bottle, it was the overwhelming scent of chocolate, cherries and... pine. It smelled very medicinal, like some kind of bizarre cough syrup. On, it mellowed more so that the juniper and musks were the most dominant notes, with a gently whiff of the chocolate (which was very dark and dry) every once in a while. I definitely need to test it again before I make a final decision on the fate of my bottle, but it is definitely a very interesting and unique blend.

    Chiroptera

This is a sweet and spicy herbal blend. I get a lovely lavender kicked up a notch by the lemon balm and the sage. I was a bit nervous about this because me and purple flowers just haven't been getting along lately, but this is very lovely and I'm glad that I was able to order a bottle before it was discontinued.

    Carnal

This scent is succulent, thick and throbbing. It is juicy and ripe and swollen, as if I've just torn into the perfect plump fig, fingers sticky and sweet and browned. This is the perfect smell of sex in liquid form. TO DIE FOR!

    Belle Époque

Mmm, this is just a gorgeous creamy and yummy scent! I sniffed the imp this morning and was saddened when I couldn't really smell anything, and same with when I first applied it. But throughout the day, the vanilla and lilies have become more prominent. The mandarin is playing quietly in the background, adding just a hint of fruitiness to the throw. I think I might be wanting a big bottle of this.

    Two, Five & Seven

This is a very potent and beautiful rose blend. When I first applied it, it smelled as if I had rolled naked in several rose bushes. However, as time passed, the oil morphed into.... wine? I don't quite understand or know what to make of it. I was prepared for the soap smell that some roses turn into on me, but wine... a heady alcohol smell... I was not prepared for that one. I will perhaps test this again before I sell / swap it.

    Aunt Caroline's Joy Mojo

I'm going to agree with the reviews right above mine on the mystical qualities of this oil. I put some on this morning because I have been feeling particularly off and unhappy with my job and figured I could use a little boost. The smell in the vial is nice and very, very sweet. I will agree that it is a cotton candy / spun sugar / pink fruit scent. Bubble gum is pretty accurate. I put some on my wrists, the pulse points on my neck, on my collarbone, and even trailed a little through the ends of my hair. While it is sweet and seems to have quite a bit of staying power and throw, it is almost... smothering? I feel somewhat claustrophobic with this scent, and I can't really explain why. I felt somewhat manic on my drive in while the oil was only about a half hour on my skin. And now I feel restless and almost panicked. And still full of piss 'n' vinegar. So no joy here. Oh well.

    Anubis

He Who Counts the Hearts, Jackal Ruler of the Bows, He Who Is In the Place of Embalming. Jackal-headed guardian, protector and psychopomp of Egypt’s dead, he guides souls to the underworld and holds steady the scales upon which the deceased’s heart is weighed against Ma’at’s Feather of Truth. He is the creator and master of funereal rites, He Who Opens the Mouth of the Dead, and is the sentinel that watches over the sanctity of tombs and the virtue and privacy of his charges. His scent is a blend of holy myrrh, storax, balsam, and embalming herbs. This is a soft, warm, golden scent. It was a lagniappe imp from the Lab in my last order, and I didn't really think that I would like it from smelling it in the vial, but it warmed up and softened very nicely on my skin. It is woodsy and gently herbal, not astringent or sharp. It has a slight creaminess to it. Very lovely, and one I never would have tried on my own.

    Hexennacht (2005, 2016, 2019)

Mmmm, this is sweet smoky goodness. It's a hot humid forest at midnight. It's primal sexy ceremony and wild-eyed nature. SO glad I got a bottle of this!

    Beltane 2005-06

This is a very interesting floral blend. It smells diverse and complex, yet light and springy at the same time. For a while, all I smelled was jasmine, which I am not particularly fond of, so I was certain I was going to swap this away. But now there is a spicier floral in the forefront and the jasmine has kind of drifted off to the side and I'm not sure what the fate of this bottle will be. Definitely need to do further testing, and to see how this one continues to morph throughout the day.

    Nuit

This is a pale pale purple scent to my inexperienced nose. It is almost exclusively jasmine that I am smelling in the blend, and while it is a calming scent, it's almost.... too calming. Very very floral. I have a hunch this will turn to "powder" on me before too long.

    Embalming Fluid

Oh dear, I've gone and spilled green tea all over my clothes. No... wait... that's just the Embalming Fluid I'm wearing. I have to agree that this is a very uplifting morning scent. It pepped me right up and actually lasted quite a long time. It never really morphed from the strong green tea note, but I didn't really mind because I love the smell of green tea.

    The Ides of March 2005

This is a lush autumnal blend on me. I love the masculinity of it. Makes me want to don a sharply tailored pantsuit and slink around like a feline. I think the rosemary is in the forefront, but it's such a rich blend that I don't mind not being able to individually identify more of the notes. This is love at first smell!

    The Hanging Gardens

I'm having a hard time picking out the myriad of separate notes because on, this oil is gorgeously blended. It's a very lush, warm scent. The one note that sticks out the most is the dry rose. It's soft and husky and even the dryness of it is amazing. I've had it on for about an hour now, so I'm curious as to how it will continue to morph throughout the day. Very beautiful!

    Delight

This is a very sweet floral blend. It turns syrupy and cloying on my skin, and the notes are very mottled so that it turns into one mutant flower instead of being able to identify them separately. Fare thee well, Delight. Off to the swap pile with you.

    Darkness

Oddly, on me this is a warm, deep golden smell. I think I am picking up the narcissus and the myrrh as the strongest notes. It's a.... thick smell, I guess... I can't really think of a way to describe it. Thick sounds like syrup to me, but this isn't a syrupy sweet blend. It's just deep and languid and it grabs you and wraps you in itself until you can't come up for air. I was afraid of this blend when I received it as a lagniappe from the Lab, but I'm very glad I was able to try it because I really really like it.

    Chimera

I have to concur that this is a very sweet cinnamon. I smell it, lingering under the surface, but the honeysuckle in the blend definitely takes it to a syrupy place, and I'm a bit nervous about the copal as resins usually turn into soap on me. My fingers are crossed that this just remains sweetly spicy like it is now.

    Blood Kiss

I am extremely wary of vetiver because it always is the strongest note in a blend and stinks of perm chemicals on my skin. But I figured the other notes in this one would surely overpower it. It was really very sexy. The cherry, vanilla and honey were very strong, thick and rich. The vetiver stayed in the background until later in the day when it started to come out and prickle in my nose. The next morning, it was clinging to my hair and was very unpleasant. But while wearing it on my skin, I enjoyed it for the most part, as did my husband.

    Brisingamen

This is a really gorgeous scent. On me, carnation is always the most dominant note. It's rich and spicy in this blend, and it lasted all day which made me very happy. I definitely need a big bottle of this.

    Cathode

In the vial, this is cool and minty. But on me, it's far too masculine for my tastes. It's very dry and the mint turns resinous on me.

    Black Cat

I wish I could tell you what this smelled like on me, but I'm really not sure. It was kind of a minty musk, perhaps resiny. As it dried all day, it became a very bitter soapy smell that I didn't like at all. I was sending out some energy, or at least trying to, to test the applications described by the Lab but I don't know if it was really working for me. Oh well, you win some you lose some.

    Somnus

I received this in a swap specifically because I wanted to test it's sleep-aid properties, not just for smell as I would with other BPAL oils. I got a little bit on my fingers from the imp before I wanted to really try it, so I tried to wash it off. A little while later, I kept getting this soothing wafts of lavendar and spice and I couldn't figure out where it was coming from. I absent-mindedly raised my hand to scratch an itch and noticed it was the Somnus on my fingers. Before going to bed, I put a dab on each temple as well as a tiny drop under my nose and rubbed some on my fingers into my hair. It smelled really lovely, like a sunshine-drenched field of lavender. I did notice that I slept quite deeply, though not as deeply as my husband who woke me with torrential snoring. I got up and went into the guest room and was so tired and groggy that I forgot to set the alarm. I also noticed that since I didn't wash the oil off immediately upon waking this morning that I was really sleepy through my morning workout. Not sure if this is all the oil's fault or if I'm just over-tired, but I do love the scent and plan on giving it another try tonight.

    Akuma

This is fruity fruity fruit. It does have that tinge of fakeness to it though. It's not necessarily the plastic note that everyone seems to mention when a scent goes bad. It's just... fake. It reminds me of something I would have worn as a little girl, back in a time before makeup was allowed. It's a very youthful scent.

    Baron Samedi

This is punch me in the face, stab me in the eyes, ram sporks up my nostrils vetiver. Nothing but vetiver. Vetiver makes the baby jesus cry.

    Baba Yaga

Wet, this is juicy, syrupy fruits. I don't get the pineapple that everyone else seems to mention, but I do know that it is sweet. Dry, it's deep and musky. There is a very sharp note in it that I can't quite put my finger on. It's not necessarily fruity anymore, but as musks go, it is still quite sweet. This is very lovely... I would wear it all summer long. I really hope this one gets released so I can buy a bottle.
