how long are LE scents available??

Unless Beth specifies a date for the duration of the oil (i.e., "Carnivàle Revisited will be available until August 1, 2005."), they are available until they run out. Lunacy Oils are only available for 24 hours.

    Aunt Caroline's Money Draw

This is a spicy citrus scented oil. I didn't wear it for perfume purposes, though. I applied a little to the inside of my wrists and my fingertips. I didn't receive any financial windfalls, but my husband ended up paying for two video games that I had intended to purchase myself, which saved me about $60 of money that I was going to spend. So take that how you will. I also annointed a scratch-off lottery ticket on which I had won $5. My intentions were to redeem it to buy 5 lottery tickets for tomorrow night's Mega Millions drawing, but I haven't gotten around to it yet. I might re-annoint it before I go to the store with it this evening, just in case the intentions have worn off.

    Social Anxiety Disorder

I have been having a bit of trouble with what I guess is Social Anxiety Disorder as of late. Any time my DH and I have plans to go out with friends, I seize up and start to panic and generally do whatever arguing I can to stay home and hide instead. It's starting to get to him, and I do think we're both going a little stir crazy. This Saturday, a friend is having a BBQ where we will only know about a handful of people. We promised we'd go, but I'm already feeling the cold dread of having to get out and interact with people I don't know... hell, even with people I do know. I procured an imp of Moxie, and was wondering if anyone has used this blend to become more, well, sociable and outgoing? I was going to try using it to get into the mood, per se, so what might be the best way to utilize the oil? Just slather it on and take it in, or are there specific places to annoint that might help channel the "balls" I need to get out in public and have fun again? Or would using it in a manner not applied to the skin be more effective? Any advice would be greatly appreciated, even if it's to recommend another oil altogether. I'm just tired of being the wallflower, afraid to leave the house and have to be seen and heard, knowing I'll just be embarrassed and flooded with memories of stupid things I did or said (even if they only seem stupid to me). Also, I apologize if this is posted in the wrong forum. I debated this one versus Get Personal and BPAL Chatter. If mods need to move it, please don't hesitate to put it where it belongs. Thanks!

    Social Anxiety Disorder

Ah, thank you for the advice. I have an imp of High John also, and reading the description that might work well also. I've tried Aunt Caroline before and for some reason when I used it, it made me feel claustrophobic. I don't know if that's the right way to describe it really, but I felt panicked somewhat, and smothered. Unfortunately I don't have any Water of Notre Dame right now, but I'll keep my eye out for it on the swap / sale boards or order some from the Lab directly. Thanks for your help!

    Graveyard Dirt

... This is the scent of pure graveyard dust, spattered with grave loam and dusted lightly with tombstone moss. This is unbelievable! It is truly a dark, deep, wet dirt. It is sharp and acrid, though, and stings my nose. I don't think it's something that I would wear alone on a daily basis, but I've kept the bottle because I feel that it will be a great layering scent. Very much like grabbing fistfuls of ground after a heavy storm and smearing it all over your skin.

    Gingerbread Poppet

This smells exactly like little gingerbread men. Even my perfume wary husband loves this one. It's warm and spicy and delicious, as if I've smeared the cookie batter on my wrists and neck. Lovely!!!

    Yog-Sothoth

I really wish I knew how to describe how unique and wonderful this blend is, but I don't really know how you describe it any better than Beth: "The scent of air and darkness." That pretty much sums it up. I don't know how she made those scents tangible and liquid, but she did. Very unique, very beautiful.

    Whippoorwill

This is a very warm, green, woodsy scent. The mosses and juniper were most dominant on my skin, but the black pepper gave it a nice hint of spiciness. The bamboo turned it a little soapy, but not so much that it changed my opinion of what a lovely blend this is.

    Shub-Niggurath

The lust incense of a corrupted Astarte. A blend of ritual herbs and dark resins, shot through with three gingers and aphrodisiacal spices. This is sexy and spicy and just plain gorgeous! I can smell the ginger first and foremost, and wish that I knew what the other notes (especially the aphrodisiacal spices) were because the ginger is tempered so nicely. I really love this.... can't think of much else than that to say!

    Miskatonic University

I'm not a coffee drinker, but I do enjoy the smell. And coffee this is! This is a rich, creamy roasted coffee. Underneath, I can vaguely smell what I can only describe as aged paper, much like digging around in the dark, dank hidden sections of the library. There is also a hint of woods, but not enough that I can smell it without putting my nose to my wrist. For the most part, the throw is all coffee, and I'm loving it!

    Kingsport

This is very sharp and biting on me, a salty aquatic like none I've ever smelled. The Lab's description pretty much got it right on... there is an oceanic mist that just kind of surrounds you and floats with you as you move through your day. While it is very beautiful and unique, I'm not sure that it's something I would wear regularly. So off to the swap pile.

    Dunwich

This is an interesting blend. The dryness of the woods breaks through to hit my nose first, very much like the woods in Dragon's Bone to me. But it is also murky and wet smelling, kind of how I wanted Cthulhu to be on me. It definitely smells as if I am wandering aimlessly, lost in a deep dark bog where the sunlight only gets through in small dazzling cracks, blinding me and sending me further in to get even more lost. It's salty and woodsy and still a bit masculine, but not so much that I can't bear to wear it. I think I will need to give this one a little more testing before I make up my mind on whether it stays or goes.

    Cthulhu

This was definitely a deep, dark, murky aquatic blend. Unfortunately, it didn't turn into what I loved about Undertow, but instead was very much like an aftershave that an old ex-boyfriend used to wear. It was very masculine on me, a little too much so for my own comfort. So it's off to the swap pile.

    Azathoth

I had very high hopes for this blend, even though I have notoriously bad luck with vetiver. But I suspected that the tangerine, saffron, and cedar might help tame it. I was wrong. So wrong. Yet another blend where the only visible note is wicked, bitchy vetiver. When will I learn my lesson???

    Arkham

This is a beautiful spicy green scent on me. Yes, it's mostly floral, but looking at the list of notes in this blend, my unsophisticated nose isn't really sure what it is that I am smelling. There is a warm underlayer of woods that gives this blend real depth. It truly does smell like a valley in springtime. Absolutely gorgeous!

    Al Azif

This is gorgeous sugared incense. It is dark, but not heavy, almost as if you're shrouded in the smoke itself. I get a nice warm wood scent out of this too. It's a touch masculine at times, but delicately so. LOVE IT!

    Mi-Go Brain Canister

This is a big heaping bowl of juicy tropical fruits. Only after an hour or so do the pepper and mild spices peek out a little bit. This is a really fun, playful scent! ETA: Mmmm, I've reapplied a little since it was starting to fade on me, and this time around the peony is very prominent, but it still has this wet juicy fruity smell and I am totally loving this. It takes me a long time to get through bottles, so I am glad I bought the one, but a teensy part of me wishes I had bought more.

    Dragon's Hide

Again, the dragon's blood is always the most dominant note on me, but the leather shows up and adds a bit of depth. It's odd, and I started to panic after my bad experience with Highwayman, but it never turned sour on me. As it was fading, the leather became more dominant, but it stilled smelled mostly like my lovely dragon's blood.

    Dragon's Musk

I definitely intend to get a big bottle of this blend. The dragon's blood is the primary note on me, as with all of the Ars Draconis blends, but this time the musk is present too, giving a darkness and a depth to the blend. It's slightly spicy and also a touch masculine on me (but not overwhelmingly so).... very nice for those days when I'm feeling playfully androgynous. Very nice.

    Dragon's Milk

In the vial, I could tell that this was going to be a creamier blend. So I was a bit surprised when I applied it and all I could smell was the dragon's blood. After a little while, the vanilla and the honey came out a little bit. A few hours later, I asked my husband why he put on my old bottle of Stila's Creme Bouquet perfume and he looked at me like I was insane. Then I realized I was smelling myself. All vanilla and honey, with just a touch of floral. For the most part, the dragon's blood had disappeared. All in all, I enjoy this blend. Might just need a bottle of it.

    Dragon's Heart

Let me start by saying that dragon's blood is one of my favorite notes. I was so pleased to see the whole line of Ars Draconis blends, and ordered the whole lot of them. The descriptions and combinations are so creative and fascinating. This blend, however, all I can smell is the dragon's blood resin. I would have loved to have gotten more of the fig and current, or even a little touch of the musks. Oh well.

    Thunderbird

I keep going back and forth between loving the green ozone scent and hating the "rain scent dryer sheet" scent. I can't decide, so I will have to try this one again.
  23. gingersnapp

    Oisin

This is beautiful, androgynous musk. It's got a creamy sweetness to it, not vanilla, but definitely floral. It's lightly spicy and just plan wonderful. Another great summer blend!
  24. Carnal is hot hot hot. It totally smells like rampant sexuality to me.

    Corazon

The scent of divine mercy, pulsating and throbbing through the heart of every living creature. Glorious red musk and a halo of golden amber with a touch of wet mango, lavender, and purple sage. This is TO DIE FOR!!! Oh man am I so glad that I was able to buy a bottle before it was discontinued. The mango is the dominant note, with the amber, red musk, and purple sage spicing it up nicely and giving it gorgeous depth. It's sweet, it's spicy, it's a perfect summer scent!
