  1. I must rush in writing this before I pass out in a haze of sheer content!

Shes an ethereal beauty and she ready to capture your soul for eternity! She will draw you in with her pale and potent exterior and once hooked, she will take you on a journey deep into a luxurious fae spice garden, draped in hidden dimensions and the looming feeling of something around the corner...! She will prance and tip toe along a hidden path, taunting you with fluorescent blossoms and jovial leaves which she scatters on the trail. Then suddenly she gently turns to stare you in the face and beacons you to follow... She has lead the way to a fountain of creamy vanilla milk. Here she taints the flow with scatterings of palm and gentle petals. She flows and she swirls and she completely drowns you in a pool of sheer content.

Rutting cats is mysterious, sophisticated and sensual as well as being subtly sexy. It makes you feel good!

I adore this scent... I have 2 bottles on the way.

  2. In the bottle - Sweet, creamy, melty vanilla ice cream. SPOT ON! Somewhat sharply sweet.

Wet - Almost almondy yet still very creamy and sweet. I adore vanilla, and this is my perfect vanilla note!

Dry - It's a puddle of stucky, yummy, creamy vanilla goodness. With a hint of plastic candle holders.... hmmm. I can live with that! It's too much vanilla goodness to part with!

Verdict - I need to buy more bottles!

  3. In the imp - Woa! Pomegranite food cake?! Spicy, sweet and sensual.

Wet - Slightly herbal with the fig poking it's little head in, but its predomenantly grounded and sweet, but not too sweet.

Dry - Caramely? That must be the honey playing tricks on me. Fig honey? Thats interesting. Where did my pomegranite food cake go? I like this a lot... I like how it moprhs.

Verdict - I wish that it never changed from what it smelt like in the imp. That was delicate and not too overpowering. I will try to hunt for a bottle. I do like it a lot, but I wish it wasn't so herbal when wet.

  4. In the imp - Yuck, rose! Soft rose however... Not too headachey. Why do I insist on trying floral scents when I know I despise florals!

Wet - A hint of Snow White? Far more floral than she is, but I get it. It's a fluffy pink rose covered snowball... A slight whiff of vanilla, but I am starting to get a headache. Darn rose!

Dry - It's sheer rose! Nothing more, nothing less. It wont fade... it wont morph. It's stuck, and I need to go wash it off!

Verdict - Adopt this imp, somebody?!

  5. In the Imp - It's red lantern, well the caramel undertone and overall feel of Red Lantern, yet sweeter with a boozy undertone! I love this already!

Wet - Ohhh no! Apples galore. I really dislike apple flavoured or apple scented anything. It's not like real apples! Caramel apples. I can live with that. It just reminds me of home made candy apples you get at Halloween. I love those!

Dry - Sheer butterscotch and caramel! A little too sweet for me. I haven't had the faintest hint of coconut yet :( I wanted it to be like a caramel malibu party on my skin. But alas... it wasn't :(

Verdict - I'll look for the older version, perhaps an aged bottle and see how that goes. This could be brilliant if it was less sickly sweet.

  6. In the imp - Headache in a bottle! Carnation and artificial strawberry sweetness.

Wet - Sickly sweet strawberries and it's still over poweringly floral. I dislike florals :(

Dry - Artificial orange blossoms galore. I don't like BPAL's orange blossom note. I think it's far too creamy and reminds me of "old lady" perfume. Woa, this is turning into even more of a headache... I need to get it off. Quick!

Verdict - This wee imp is up for a new home.... asap!

  7. In the imp - Chocolate musk! I don't think I like musk... It always pinches at my nostrils, but I hadn't realised it properly until now, when there are no other notes to blame it on or hide beneath.

Wet - Chocolate leather! Woaaaaaaa. What a deep, sultry and downright raunchy scent. I am glad the headache musk has sulked into the background. I was very worried about that. It's sweaty and sexy!

Dry - It took forever to dry! And the musk is back. But you know what, I can live with it. This is just such a sexy scent. It's melted chocolate slathered over a sensual musky woman dressed in fine leather and sucking on a sweet cigarette. It's gorgeous, and I will be wearing it when my boyfriend gets home ;)

Verdict - I need to find a bottle of this beauty!

  8. In the imp - Berry flavoured cough syrup. It has that medicinal quality in the imp, absolutely artificial. But I have faith it will dry down to perfect authenticity!

Wet - Fig, fig, fig and raspberry! A little mandarin blossom creeping in and swirling around somewhere, but not enough to make me think citrus.

Dry - Oh no... citrus! My lovely raspberry has disappeared. It's a little narcotic, with a hint of Freakshow. That kind of perverse citrus, it just should not be here! But it insists on staying put, and I am not a happy bunny.

Verdict - I am disappointed. I wanted to love this. I had high hopes. I think this little imp will be looking for a new home....

  9. A cure for sweaty bits and sticky wilting. Stinky is a summer refresher ‘foom for people that don’t dig run-of-the-mill “clean” scents: newly-washed skin with a dusting of milk, white honey, and baby powder.

In the imp - Baby powder and pine?! Where the heck did pine come from? It's there. I can always pick out that pitch. Yuck...

Wet - Buh bye Mr Pine! Thank goodness. I smelly sweet honey and milk blended together perfectly. However there is that undertone of clingy talc. I smell like a baby's bottom. I am not sure how I feel about that... No no... I smell like a nappy sack! You know, the orange ones!

Dry - Milky, honey, sweetie goodness! I like the simplicity of this. I have never tried a milk or honey scent before, so I am actually pleasantly surprised at how it dries down.

Verdict - It's not good enough to warrant me sourcing a bottle. But I like my imp, and I will keep it for those hot and sweaty days :)

  10. In the imp - Oh noooo. I did NOT expect such a huge hit of almond in such a little bottle. I am reluctant to try this as I am not very good friends with almond in any way shape or form.

Wet - Almond..... almond...... yeah, almond! A slight jolt of sugary sweetness, perhaps from the apricot or jam. But I can't pick either of these notes out.

Dry - PASTRYYYYY. Sweet and sugary hot danish pastry. There's that apricot jam! Thankfully the cherry note is merely in the background and just giving this tasty tart a little depth and oomph. Cherry tends to be plasticy on my skin. But I am soooo glad I tried this now. I was going to chicken out and walk away at first because of that dreaded almond.

Verdict - I like this. Perhaps not enough to buy a whole bottle, but a few imps here and there would be nice to have around :)

  11. In the imp - Woaaaa. Foodie lovers dream. It's a big ole gingerbread cookie with slatherings of wet white icing.

Wet - Oh sweet sweet nutmet and clove! There you are :) It's like splitting this gigantic cookie in half and inhaling the still warm ingredients. I just want to latch onto my wrist and not let go. Can someone bring me a giant gingerbread cookie?!

Dry - A little ginger oomph! My skin really seems to amp these notes in the most delightful way possible. A little sting in my nose, but it's pleasant. It's sheer spicy wonderfulness :)

Verdict - I'm off to find a bottle! I absolutly adore this.

  12. Woaaa, talk about death in a bottle. I am tearing at the eyes and foaming at the mouth after sniffing this one. It's quite horrific! I am not brave enough to try this on my skin... I'm sorry Beth :(

It's just vetiver, vetiver, vetiver.... and a nuclear bomb in a tiny little bottle.

  13. In the imp - Absolute Vetiver with a slighty piney pitch. It's feral, it's slinky... it's a velvet panther in essence.

Wet - Buh buy my dreaded vetiver. I am soooo glad thats gone, along with the headache top tope. Vanilla and star anise blended together perfectly. I am liking this, but not loving it yet.

Dry down - Oh Yuckles. This mysterius creature has a heck of a throw! Once minute I hate it, then I love it. Unfortunatley this is a headache scent on me dry. It's the vetiver. It came back to haunt me... it's prowling around in this one and has no intention of leaving.

Verdict - I wanted to love you pretty black cat, but unfortunatley, you are just a bit too stinky for me :(

  14. I meant to review this wayyyyy back in 07 when I first tried it. It is still a favorite of mine to this day. And 3 years on, she is still lovestruck and feasting on the flesh of men! However, when aged, she seems slightly more grown up and less girly.

I recently got an imp of lovestruck, and I am not sure how old it is, but it smells ENTIRLEY different to my other two decants which I have had almost 3 years. It's a stick of melted butter like others have said. No sweetness, no pinkness, no nothing that lifts it up from it's melty grave! What a disapointment.

    My 3 year old imps:

In the imp - OH MY GOD! I just had an imping accident whilst writing this. A half decant just spilt all over my keyboard. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO. What a waste of the precious! I shall continue anyway, since I am covered in the stuff... In the bottle it's creamy candy fruity goodness... get it on me now!

Wet - And oh dear, my body chemistry has changed with this one. It's all citrus! I remembered it being a full bodied creamy gorgeous melodramatic scent which a citrus kick. Not ALL citrus...

Dry - There it is! My creamy candy goodness. Still a little citrusy, but you know what, I am going to layer it with the stick of butter and see if I can bring it back down to earth!

Verdict - Butter me up and squeeze me tight! Layered, it's exactly how I remember Lovestruck. It's wonderful. You NEED that icky butter note all by it's self to appreciate what it does for the scent as a whole. It's the bee's knees... and better than sliced bread!

I guess I will have to buy some more imps as I see them and see just how different this scent is depending on it's age etc. I am too scared to buy a bottle just incase it's not the perfect lovestruck.

  15. In the imp - Sticky, wet and bursting with flavour! Yes flavour.... strawberry bubblegum! It's absolutly gorgeus, yet slightly artificial.

Wet - Woa what a metamorphis! This is now a dandelion and sugared strawberry salad that just keeps churning! I think the dandelion is a little too grassy, and that note is making the most emphasis at the moment. I never did like eating my greens very much... I hope the Vanilla and sugars can bring it back to sweetality!

Dry - Ah there it is! A sugar spun strawberry vanilla cordial! I have made smoothies like this before. I really do just want to lick my wrist, or at least press my nose up against it forever.

Verdict - I need a bottle! And I think I should try the original, if I can find it.

  16. In the imp - A mellow blend of sweet musky florals. I hate florals :( But also get that gorgeous deep yet sharp vanilla note. If the florals simmer down a wee bit, I could live with this one...

Wet - Florals ahoy! Where did my vanilla go?!

Dry down - Sharp, cold and still floral. But I don't feel drowned in icky flowers like I usually do with floral scents. I think it's the base notes of Vanila and amber that keeps it somewhat grounded and doesn't give me a headache. I should know better to avoid jasmine!

    It's not a keeper unfortunatley :(

Edit - Oh theres that headache! Time to wash it off...

  17. Also called Gallows Literature. A dime novel rife with melodrama, horror, madness and cruelty; a ten cent analogy of vice and virtue in conflict. Soft perfume evocative of noir heroines over rich red grave loam.

I can sum this scent up in 3 words - Dirty Gingerbread Poppet.

In the bottle this is soft and whispy graveyard decaying florals with a deep dirty undertone.

Wet: Thank goodness the florals waft away. This has turned into a heavy hot, damp soil scent with a particular snap which I can only describe as gingerbread.

Dry: Slighty sugar coated gingerbread sprinkled on top of freshly dug up earth. It's a complete paradox of a scent but I adore it!

I was frimped a beautiful 2ml bottle of Miss Penny in a recent swap and I am over the moon!

  18. Bottle: Sharp and intelligent black milky husk and vetiver. Vetiver and I don't get on very well most of the time so I was worried about this scent, but the coconut and vanilla lured me into a false sense of security.

Wet: A deeeep undertone of vetiver, layered with sweet vanilla and coconut.

Dry: Woa. I could sniff myself all day long. The vetiver creates a rooted stage for the vanilla pixies and coconut ponies to prance around. There is an air of humid spices, but it's away in the distance like a long lost memory.

This is a soft and extremely well blended scent. Each note compliments the next. I am surprised, I expected it to be harsher and truer to the venomous species named but it's not. It's graceful, intelligent and mature.

  19. A strange, disconcerting embrace… to some, alarming, and to some, intimately familiar: fig, pomegranate and cocoa bean with lemon, bergamot, vanilla, mellow honey musk, calamus and tonka.

Bottle: Caramelised fig drenched in rich melted milk chocolate

Wet: Extremely foody... very true to the bottle.

Dry: Exotic slurpy pomegranite jucies sit on the surface of this rich and heavenly scent pool.

Woaza I simply adore this scent. It's deep, rich, sensual and good enough to eat. Although, the bitter lemon makes it not so safe for consumption. A complex yet expertly blended scent which makes me feel freaky and frisky.

  20. Snake Oil with sugar cane, frankincense, champaca, opoponax, labdanum, and hyssop.

Bottle: Sweet tingly snake oil. Sensual and light hearted.

Wet: This becomes deep and rooted as the sugar and opoponax melt together with the creamy snake oil.

Dry: The frankincense doesn't let this settle for too long. As it dries down, it's lifted and becomes wafty without being wishy washy. It's a smoky incense scent which tingles my nose. Yet the sweet sugar cane sticks to my skin and is the perfect stage for the frankincense to waft across whilst tiny dancers with vanilla shoes twinkle their toes and leave a creamy trail...

    I need a 5ml of this asap.

  21. Bottle: Sweet wafting insence slowly creeps out the bottle and engulfs my senses.

Wet: Holy head rush... I am melting into a bed of deep red candied opium poppies. A sprinkling of ground tobacco leaf dances on poppy pettles for a few minutes before falling into the murky depths of this scent. It takes quite a while to dry on my skin but thats ok.

Dry: This has become subtle enough for me to snap out of my opium enduced delerious state and I am able to focus on the other notes. Sweet vanilla mint? I am not sure. But this is a sensual, exotic, mysterious blend that beckons me into it's smokey depths.

    I NEED a 5ml. What a scent...

  22. Bottle: My nemesis Miss Rose comes back to haunt me...

Wet: Vinegared red wine with deep blood resins (It would be gorgeous if it stayed this way)

Dry: rose, Rose, ROSE! It's over powering and makes me want to jump out the window.

Blood rose needs a new home methinks...

  23. Bottle: Sweet and sensual creamy vanilla and leather.

Wet: Delicious leather. I am simply sinking into this warm and comfy scent. This stays wet for a long time on me.

Dry: Lingering warm and worn leather with a slight hint of spicey sage. It's warming and alluring, almost lulling you into a false sense of security as the sage snaps you out of the haze and reminds you of that bite underneath.

I adore this scent. It's not as aggressive as I thought it was going to be. Being an avid reptile keeper and hobbyist this scent embodies how I feel about snakes as the beautiful and misunderstood creatures they are. The lingering leather is fabulous, it's a scent I fall asleep to at night. I am soooo glad I ordered a 5ml of this straight away, and I was even frimped 3 of the other snakes.
