Delish. A little on the sweet side, but as time passes, I'm liking how it smells on me. It's a bit heady as it settles. Luscious, heady, and makes me feel like I'm dessert, which can be a very good thing. The honey mead and rum are strong on me.

    O

I have found the scent I love most in the world. This is YUMMY. It smells like pure sex and enticement. This is a great one to wear for those occasions where you want to beguile someone's senses. The amber, vanilla, and honey make for a very sweet-but-enticing scent. It smells like some kind of decadent mead. Honey and amber seem to like me a lot, and I always knew vanilla did, so it's nearly perfect. It did, however, fade faster on the second wearing than the first - the first time it lingered for 12+ hours!

    Sloth

I didn't expect to like this one, but as it turns out, it wound up in my keeper pile. Though it's a bit smoky-sharp for everyday for me, It smells lazy and indolent, relaxing -- it makes you want to sink into a soft bed and lie there enjoying the lovely aroma. It seems vetiver likes me. It wound up sweet on me as well, and I'm trying to figure out why.

    Vice

It's a little sharp in the bottle. The orange blossom seems a bit strong on me, and there seems to be a bit of something sharp in there (I kept thinking 'anise' for some reason). After about 30 minutes, out comes the chocolate. It's quite yummy -- a little too rich for everyday, though. It fades faster than the other scents on me, unfortunately. ETA, 1/10/2005: I'm wearing Vice again, and this time, it smells more like a mix of really rich orange chocolate and some kind of booze (hot buttered rum, hot toddy?). The prior sharpness is nowhere in evidence, and now, it just smells warm and decadent. It also mixes nicely with Body Shop Chocolate Orange shower cream's scent.

This one is a radical departure from my usual sort of scent, and I like it a great deal. It has a slightly electric note to it. It's also quite strong both on and in the bottle, and tends to linger. It’s not a 'daily' scent for me, but I can definitely see using it as a change from my more common scents, for rituals, and for occasions when I want to feel electric and alive. ADDED Jan. 9: Second try on this one turned a bit lemony on me... I swiped a little on the hubby, and it was less lemony on him. After a half hour or so, it just turned to a lovely airy clean scent on him, and he said, "This is quite nice, very subtle and clean. How much is this stuff again?" Looks like I made a new convert. I'm ordering him a 5ml.

    Kali

Quite nice, much nicer than I expected from so much in the way of floral notes. It is rich and soothing and yet has a sharp tang just at the edges. I like this one a great deal. The scent is quite strong in the vial but much less so on drydown. I wish it didn't fade on me so quickly, though -- both applications lasted only about 2 hours each!

    Black Pearl

It smells yummy in the vial. (Note: All my BPAL imps have smelled wonderful so far. I honestly haven't found a smell in the batch I didn't like on first sniff, even if it wasn't something I'd see myself wearing.) This blend is too floral for me, though. The coconut and hazelnut get lost in the iris scent on me, and I'm not fond of florals. It would be yummy on someone else. It had about an average lingering time for what I've seen in BPAL oils. I didn't need to reapply.

    Blood Kiss

The cherries are strong when it's applied liberally. It's yummy, but not very strong when I apply it in the same amounts as other oils. It seems to fade faster, too. However, it is complex and yummy, definitely dark-and-sexy. The clove, wine, and musk mix nicely. I don't smell much vanilla, except as a mellower note over the cherry. It smells like the concept of incense -- a little smoky, sweet, a little sharp, and thick like the air in an opium den.

    Blood Amber

It seemed a bit too sophisticated for my tastes initially, but as it sinks in over 30 - 45 minutes, it becomes less so and just becomes a very lush scent that is constantly on the edges of the senses without being obtrusive to me. It smells opulent and luxurious -- my initial reaction is that it was too posh for a woman of simple tastes. It also lingers, even more than most BPAL oils I've tried. Dragon's Blood seems to really, really like me.

    Sacred Whore of Babylon

I didn't expect to like this one either. It's a floral, fer cryin' out loud… florals normally make me wheeze, and end up nauseous, unless heavily tempered with other scents. Oh, lordy, is it gorgeous. It fades a little too quickly for me (2 hours or so! I was bummed!), but it's a positively luscious scent, with the floral balanced nicely with the other notes. It smells decadent and opulent.
