in the bottle: woodsy, herbal and dark. wet on skin: cedar is pretty prominent in this. As well as sandalwood. I've been utterly twisted over sandalwood as of late, so I'm automatically predisposed towards this. dry: (and this is for all the other Harry Potter geeks out there) This is the inside of Snape's potion component cabinet. The end.

in the bottle: sweet and juicy fruit. wet on skin: Amber is something I have a love/hate relationship with. Mixed with the right notes, amber is a glorious thing on my skin. Mix it with the wrong ones, and I am quite unhappy. Fruit, any sort, is not something that goes well with amber on my skin. It just gets cloyingly sweet. dry: I washed this off.

in the bottle: roses, wine, and incense. wet on skin: I'm not getting the chocolate, thankfully. The tiniest bit of tobacco, which makes this a 'sit up and notice me' scent. Very, very adult. dry: the wine has gotten a bit on the sweet side, like a bottle of cheap red sangria. The roses and incense blend together with the wine in a heady mix. This is a scent to wear when dancing long hours into the night, until you drop in exhaustion.

in the bottle: incredibly strong cinnamon and almond. wet on skin: hot damn! This is such a great cinnamon. The almond tones it down a tiny bit, just barely dimming its flame. dry: Like a few other people, this has given me a bit of the throat-tickles. But, I'm still in love with this.

in the bottle: sweet, vanilla orange blossoms. wet on skin: oh, this is nice. It's got a citrusy scent to it, but not the juicy sort. More like the scent of an orange peel, the zest of it. Blending that with vanilla isn't something that I ever would have thought I'd enjoy, but I do. A lot. dry: the narcissus comes out a bit towards the end, giving this all a clean and crispness that wasn't apparent before.

in the bottle: wow, that's a really green patchouli! wet on skin: the patchouli and copal seem to be the dominant notes of this. They meld together very well, adding each other's warmth to the blend. dry: The heliotrope pokes its head out for a bit, after a while, giving the entire blend a sweetness.

in the bottle: spiced fruits. wet on skin: unfortunately, this never made it to me skin. The spiced fruits were just too much for my nose and the imp went straight to my swap box. This doesn't happen often and I'm always disappointed when it does. :/

in the bottle: green tea and lemonade. wet on skin: wow, this is absolutely perfect for the weather we've been having in my area lately. It's the perfect foil to hot and sticky. This is clean and fresh smelling, without being artificial. dry: to me, this smells like a green tea variety of Dorian, without the cream and extra lemon. Nice!

in the bottle: spicy lemons. wet on skin: this is really unusual, it's very dark, but running neck-in-neck with sweet. Underneath it all is this beautiful rose. Very warm. dry: the rose has intensified, shouldering the lemon-ness out of the way. Not completely, but it's more in the background now. Now it's just a warm, spiced rose with a tiny hint of the lemon tartness.

in the bottle: straight-out incense. wet on skin: the incense has morphed into a rather herby smell. Dark and bitter, with an under current of dirt. dry: Not much of a change, except for the incense growing stronger again. However, the herb scent is putting me off a bit. It's too sharp for me.

in the bottle: black currant candy. wet on skin: This is interesting. Sugary with a juicy background of the black currants. The plums are also in the background, which I'm not digging too much. dry: hoom. More plum, unfortunately. If it had stuck with the black currant, I'd probably like it a whole lot more.

in the bottle: spicy cherry-almond. wet: I had ordered an imp of this without reading any of the reviews, then got a little bit afraid when I read that some people thought it smelled 'green'. Upon smelling it for the first time, I get cherries and almonds, with some sort of boozy type of background holding them all together. Like amaretto. Gorgeous. dry: This is me, after a long night of drinking amaretto sours and laughing myself silly.

in the bottle: blackberry tea! wet on skin: This is so light, it almost disappears the moment I apply it to my wrist. From the description, I didn't think this was going to be one that I liked because I'm not so big into the fruity scents, but this smells exactly like blackberry tea to me, with a bit of musky deepness. dry: the musk has warmed up the tea and the blackberry, giving them so much more depth. I like this. Don't know if it's something I would wear frequently, but I'm enjoying the scent.

in the bottle: smokey incense and something herby. wet on skin: hmm. I really thought I was going to like this, as incense scents rank amongst my favourites. But, there's just something in this that's not agreeing with me. It's too...green for my taste. Maybe it's the balsam. dry: That green note has really intensified. This is very sad. :/

in the bottle: Terry's Chocolate Oranges. wet on skin: this smells a lot like chocolate cake, with orange flavoured icing. Not something I'm especially fond of eating, or smelling like. dry: Sadly disappointing for me, although I'm sure many other people would love this. I'm just not a chocolate-wearing girl.

in the bottle: overpowering plumeria and wine. wet on skin: I was really hoping for a pretty pear scent, but I seem to have missed the train on that one. Plumeria is the dominant one in this imp and I'm not terribly happy about it. dry: no chance to. I washed it off.

in the bottle: hmm. I can't really identify any particular notes, except maybe for vetiver. It's very earthy. wet on skin: this is such an odd blend. I know there's roses in here somewhere, but it's so faint that I'm half convinced I got a different oil on my nose from sniffing my other imps. I'm not entirely sure what cactus flower smells like, so that could possibly be some of the floral I'm smelling. It's very sweet. dry: More rose shows up, but it's largely vetiver and this unknown note. I'm so disappointed because I really wanted this to be a favourite. I'm rather obsessed with Santa Muerte and would have loved wearing the namesake. Sadly, this goes into my swap pile.

in the bottle: very strong floral, with a slight sweet undertone. wet on skin: hmmm. This would probably be the first rose scent I didn't like. It's probably the narcissus that I'm not liking, I reckon. It's just too much for me. dry: more of the same. Away to the swaps!

in the bottle: starlight peppermints, right up the nose. wet on skin: this is extremely minty, which is actually the pennyroyal, without the slightest hint of lavender to tone it down a bit. dry: Sadly, the lavender never made an appearance for me. Into the swap box, it goes.

in the bottle: spicey vanilla Coke (hey, this is not a bad thing to smell like!) wet on skin: so much glorious sugared vanilla, I could roll around in it. However, since I only have an imp, I'll attempt to refrain. dry: the spiciness has come back to me, after a couple of hours. But, it is largely a musky type of vanilla. Very nice. A big bottle purchase, definitely.

in the bottle: cinnamon and sandalwood. wet on skin: This isn't a candy-like cinnamon, which I'm grateful for. I like the dry, cinnamon stick type of scents much better then the ones of the Red Hots variety. Combine that with sandalwood, which I've developed a strange attraction for lately, and you've got a winner. dry: the black patchouli comes forth a little bit, very soft, but it's in for the long haul. It blends so well with the sandalwood, but almost completely eradicates the cinnamon.

in the bottle: my birthday is in October, in the thick of autumn, so I'm more than a little bit attached to the season. Everything just feels right during that time of the year. The air holds a certain bite to it, but overall it's very comfortable to be outside. Leaves are changing colours and stomping through them brings forth one of the best sounds in the world. Everything seems sharp and in focus. People are just starting to light their fireplaces. Pumpkins everywhere and the best Halloween swag is in all the stores. This scent evokes all of that for me. It's pumpkins and smokiness, dying leaves, and a strange crispness. wet on skin: the clove really stands out when I first apply it, with the allspice coming up right behind it. This reminds me of making pumpkin cookies for my birthday party with my mother when I was about seven. dry: Patchouli and apple have decided to show up the party, but they don't stay very long. It's mostly just the spicey pumpkin and smokey leaves. I managed to score an imp of this off LJ and am dying to get a big bottle of it. Hopefully, it'll be re-released this coming season.

in the bottle: smokey, spicey roses. wet on skin: wow. The first time I applied this, it was an instant favourite. It's an extremely powerful scent and immediately gives the air of meaning business. It's roses and incense, a darkened room, draped in swathes of silk. dry: It doesn't change too much, as time goes past. I'm currently waiting for a big bottle of this in my next lab order. I can't wait until it arrives.

in the bottle: Fresh pomengranate juice and ginger ale (don't ask). wet on skin: I'm not getting much rose out of this, which is very surprising. There is a faintly spicy scent to it, which I reckon is why I thought of ginger ale when I first sniffed my imp. But, it's mostly all the fruitiness of the pomengranate. dry: still fruity, with the slightest wisp of rose. Fruit scents don't number among my favourites, or even among my kind-of likes. But, this one doesn't bother me all that much. That being said, I'll probably leave this as just an imp and not get a big bottle.
