  1. Yeah..you wouldn't be wanting to wear Jinx 24/7.... ;o)

Having just taken a look at the reviews on the main site, it sounds like it's pretty much pure peppermint? Is that right? Maybe Lick It as an alternative?

    Oops! :P

I'll definitely try that, but I keep swearing that I smell something like lavender as a base, and I wish I could figure that out!

No one will know if you wear it as casual perfume. It is your oil, after all.

Oh, true, but I think that might affect my ritual use, and this one also happens to be a bit burny!

  2. I've completely fallen in love with the scent of Jinx Removing. It is a warm, delicious blanket that makes me feel safe while confronting negative energy.

Now, I'm absolutely terrible at describing notes, and I know that these aren't for use as a casual perfume . . . so what BPAL can I wear as a casual perfume?

I'm sure there are others who have similar questions.

  3. I ordered a decant, and excitedly rechecked the notes after I applied and saw vetiver. Crap. I'm one of those people where vetiver amps like crazy into this horrible foul smokiness, but this one didn't. In the drydown, I get a teeny bit of he vetiver smoke, but mostly cocoa and lavender. It's delicious.

Honesty, even if you have issues with vetiver, it's worth a shot.

    4/5

  4. I love April fool in the bottle, it's a dry and warm green floral. On the skin the berry and tangerine come out to a luscious, sweet berry scent backed by the green of the parsley. But then . . . it turns to the scent of a scented crayon, I mean that in the best way possible, and makes me sneeze. Must be the nicotiana. The lemon blossom also appears, just barely, reminding meof my favorite part of Mag Mell.

It's a shame, because this reminds me of a sweeter, fuller Vinland in the bottle and initially on application. I'll give it another try, then it's off to the swap pile. (but it's given me the idea to layer Vinland and Mag Mell!)

  5. In the bottle it smells like pine edged mint and old scrolls, but on my skin I get a sweet base of mingled pine and berries, with a bright, though faint, topnote of mint. It smells like what winter looks like in the stillness after a heavy snowfall from the window of a a warm house. Lovely! 4.5/5

  6. I'm going to also chime in and say the first 20 minutes are awful! The woods were overpowering, and I swear there's some sandalwood somewhere because I got the horrible, sharp spiciness that I always get with it. After it finally dries it's all dark weathered wood, a little sea salt, and cologne. I was hoping for more rose and fruit. Interesting, but not my taste. 2.5/5, swap.

  7. In the bottle: Astringent.

Wet: Even more astringent D: Where are the berries?

Skin: Oh thank god, berries. The berries and musk are really dark, inviting, and delicious!

Drydown: It smells exactly like BBW Blackberry amber!

I think I'll keep the imp, but it's not worth a bottle to me.

  8. In the bottle: Bright, icy mint. Something strange underneath.

On the skin: Huh. Something about this blend is really off . . . maybe I'm amping up the mint? It's unsettling, and kind of icky.

Drydown: Juniper and something plastic . . . Oh no, I must be one of those people cursed by lotus. *sigh*
