  1. You know the smell of a fresh cut flower stem? Not the flower, but the stem, where you've cut it. To me, this is what Empyreal Mist smells like. It's soft and light. Slightly floral but only slightly so to my floral disliking nose.

I don't think I would order a larger bottle of this, but it's certainly a "use up the imp and be happy if I get it as a freebie in the future" blend. :P

Edit: The more I smell this on me, the more it begins to remind me of this little bottle of CK's Eternity that I had as a kid and loved. How weird.

  2. This is when I learn the hard way that Apple and Apple Blossom are not even remotely similar. :P

This is a very floral scent. Too heavy for me to wear. The honey is lost in the blend on me as the florals and rose come to the front and scream "Smell me! Don't I smell pretty!"

If you like floral scents, this would probably be right up your alley!

  3. Bordello. Oh how I love you, let me count the ways.

When I initially apply, I get a fruity scent, but, very quickly, this mellows into a very subtle almondy goodness.

It makes me want to eat my arm. The blend isn't heavy at all, but I can't stop smelling myself when I've got it on.

Subtle Almond. This is my first 10ml purchase.

  4. My mom wears Laila.  I asked her what it smelled like, she said, "It smells like me!"

So.. um.. any BPAL recommendation for something similar?

    Thanks :P

According to sephora.com, the notes in Laila are: "Norwegian Lilies, Natural Watermelon, Norwegian Snowflower." It is described as fresh, clean and crisp.

Having not smelled Laila myself, I can't really offer you any suggestions. A search of the BPAL site showed no matches for watermelon or snowflower. Maybe others can offer suggestions for those BPAL scent's they'd describe as "fresh, clean and crisp." My suggestion would be Skadi--I get fresh, clean and crisp from that, and she is a Norwegian goddess, so that makes it even more appropriate.

The bad news: Skadi was a limited edition scent, most people seem to really love it and the ones who do are hanging on to theirs for dear life!

    Thank you so much!

  5. Again, my body seems to suck up and do away with the fruit notes which I so desperately love.

Initially, this was lovely orange with only a hint of patchouli. Once dried, the orange has lost the battle and nothing but patchouli remains. *sigh*

  6. I didn't read the reviews till after I'd tried this on and let it dry down a bit.

I do get a bit of a fruit undertone to this, but it all comes together to be Essence of Mulled Spiced Cider on me. Cloves, Allspice, Cinnamon, that's what's lingering.

I'd love for this to be fruitier on me.. but fruit notes seem to be overwhelmed on my skin by other, stronger notes.
