I must be in an extra-silly mood, because reading "ylang-ylang" over and over again in this thread is making me want to giggle. As others have said, Seduction seems to almost pure ylang-ylang, and since it doesn't appeal to me at all, I pretty much steer clear when I see "y-y" as a note.

I had to try this again since I have turned into a raging patchouli fiend. My skin seems to eat patchouli whenever it's blended with anything else, so the apricot is dominating this one. For apricot, though, I think I prefer the boozey goodness of Grand Guignol

I can't believe my chemistry isn't amping the vanilla in this. Instead, it's amping something similar to what I believe to be a linen note. Eventually, it dries down to something sweet and sharp at the same time. In the end, it's a bit too perfumey for me and it's not even close to unseating Severin as my ultimate tasteful, clean and smooth citrus blend.

I've repeatedly seen Urd referred to as headshoppy, so you should definitely give it a try.

Off the top of my head, I would recommend trying:
Dorian
Sin
Vixen
Queen of Sheba
Sudha Segara
Chimera

I second Quietude and Safari which are pretty much straight lavender. They don't have very good lasting power on skin in my experience, so I couldn't begin to guess how much you might need to properly scent the lotion. You may be better off using lavender essential oil.

I the Hungry Ghost label!

On me, New Orleans is almost pure honeysuckle.
-
It's not GC, but I liked the tobacco note in Medicine Show until my chemistry started amping it like crazy.

I've probably said this about a dozen different scents over the past year or so, but Fortunato reminds me of Hunter Moon.

It's been a while, but if I remember correctly Gomorrah reminded me of Cerberus.

I only really have Puck to go on, but I would definitely say it's animalistic. I'm not even clear on the question here, because I think there's a big difference between something that literally smells like bodily secretions and something that triggers your brain and makes you say, "must have sex now with whoever smells so good!" Not sure I want to get anywhere near the former and not sure I've encountered the latter yet, either, since my boyfriend would sooner be dead than be caught wearing anything fragrant. I do, however, have a fond memory of a patchouli-wearing boyfriend from many, many, many years ago.

The search engines don't allow you to search for three letter words. I think Urd should be under Excolo.

Every civet-loving pervert should try Puck!

I've got the same sweetness amping problem you have and if you really amp the vanilla like I do, Golden Priapus may turn out to be too sweet. I would recommend Dee and Old Scratch and maybe Baron Samedi from your list. Villain is very similar to Whitechapel on me, so you may not like it any better. I absolutely love Usher, but I would put it in the same category with my other love, Severin. I would also suggest Saint-Germain and, if you can handle a touch of rose, Thanatos is very nice.

Usher is the most beautifully fresh and clean scent I have ever experienced. It could have gone wrong in numerous ways, the musk could have been too masculine, the aquatic note could have given me a massive headache and allergy attack (like every other aquatic does) and the currant could have ended up too sweet. Amazingly, though, everything blends together into the scent of spring with a touch of fruit. And even more amazing was that my boyfriend actually said, "mmmm...something smells good", which happens with maybe 1 out of 200 scents.

Lolita is like hard red candy (to me at least).
-
Voodoo, Blood and Blood Kiss are the first ones that come to mind.
-
I'm trying out Euterpe right now, and it definitely has some carnation action going on.
-
Eden is definitely coconutty (and very sweet if I remember correctly). If you want a fruity tropical drink sort of coconutty, you might want to try The Star.

I have been on something of a patchouli quest and this stuff is the shit (as they say). It's so rich, smooth and mellow that it is to patchouli what Marvin Gaye is to Motown. I'm soooo glad I got to try this.

Awesome! Thanks for posting the pics!

Two Monsters

I've had my bottle of Two Monsters for at least a month now and the first time I tried it I was afraid it was going to be a heartbreaker, because it was raging oakmoss and little to nothing else. Now, a month or so later, it's gorgeous and I'm betting it is going to get even better with age. Love it!
