  1. I got an imp of Jester, pretty much entirely on a whim.

And I am so glad I did.

In the imp it was almost sickeningly sweet and I had my doubts. Once I put it on and waited a moment for it to dry, though...wow. Still very sweet but not overwhelmingly so, it was just this lovely juicy fruity berry scent. And it lasted forever. I put it on early in the day and 12 hours later it was still as strong as when I first put it on.

May need a bottle of this stuff. It's a perfect summery scent.

  2. Herbal fruit is how this smells to me. Lovely, rich, and dark, but I'm not 100% if I like it or not. It's certainly an interesting scent, but I'm not entirely sure if it's me. I'll have to keep sniffing at it and see how I feel later.

  3. As it dries it gets sweeter. At first it's mostly peach with an herbal green scent, but then the honey starts to come out to lighten things up a bit. The patchouli stays to the back, which is fine with me.

Definitely a good summer scent - I don't think it's a favorite of mine, but I can definitely see it getting plenty of wear during the summer :P

  4. Mmm, this is gorgeous. It's a very rich spicey scent, but unlike Wrath or War (two of my favorites), it's not a hot biting spice, but rather a warm, gentle but rich spice. It's a very soft, dry, feminine scent - not girly, but feminine. It's very grown-up and womanly, and also very sensual and sexual (but not so much that it's trashy-sexual), and very alluring.

I like this one a whole lot, obviously. I think it's going to be my default 'adult' scent :P

  5. CINNAMON.

Oh I love cinnamon. This reminds me of War's little sister - sweeter, but still with that bite. I'm kind of tempted to see what'll happen if I combine the two. It's hot and spicy with an undertone of sweetness, and I adore it.

  6. A raven-haired Fairy Queen of Ireland. One of her eternal duties dictates that she must hold a midnight court every season and hear the pleas of married Irishwomen. The court serves only to determine whether or not husbands are adequately serving their wife’s sexual needs. A judicious yet powerfully sensual blend, a mingling of justice and sexuality: sage, sweet pea, bold pale musk and warm tonka.

Sensual indeed...I love this. On me it's mostly sweetpea, but there's the sage backing it up, keeping it from being too sweet or flowery, and the musk anchoring everything together. As it dries it gets a bit sharper and more herbal but there's still that sweet note to it.

  7. Oh, this is delicious.

On me it dries to a lovely, sweet peachy scent with just a hint of spice that keeps it from being too sweet. It's a very light scent, and very summery. I see myself wearing it very often :P

  8. Okay, well, I love Good Omens and War was awesome in that book. So I decided that this MUST be tried.

    ...

And I really need a bottle of it now. I think I have found my signature scent.

I get this lovely, gingery spicy scent, toned down with just a hint of floral sweetness. It brings to mind a very fickle, temperamental and viciously-tempered redheaded woman who's smiling at you at the moment, but you KNOW she could turn at any moment.

It's absolutely perfect for me because I am one of those temperamental redheaded women! Love love love it.

  9. Does anyone know of a BPAL scent that's similar to the BBW "Moonlight Path"? Here's what their site says about the notes...

    • Fragrance Top Notes: Bergamot, Lavender, Mandarin, Coriander

    • Fragrance Mid Notes: Rose, Jasmine, Violet, Tuberose, Ylang, Lily of the Valley

    • Fragrance Base Notes: Sandalwood, Vetiver, Oakmoss, Vanilla, Amber, Musk

I am pretty much a BPAL "virgin", but I do equate MIDNIGHT with the B&BW's "Moonlight Path"...

here is the lab's description of Midnight:

An ethereal bouquet of night-blooming flowers. Evening primrose, ruellia, flowering nicotiana, wild petunia, panani-o-kai, night phlox, night gladiolus, moonflower and the elusive scent of Nottingham Catchfly

Oooh, I'll have to try that one. My mom loves Moonlight Path, but none of the BBWs around me carry anything in it larger than the little sampler bottles, so I was wondering if I'd be able to find a BPAL equivalent for her to try.

Also, apparently I need to put down Squirting Cucumber as something for me to try myself, as Cucumber and Melon is my favorite BBW scent :P

  10. For me, it's originally a bright, sweet lemon, which then cools down to a lovely lemony floral with just a touch of tea. I love it. Sadly, it fades far too fast - I might try and make a lotion out of it, see if that works better.

  11. I can't decide if I like this or not yet.

It is a lovely warm sexy spicy vanilla (smelling it makes me feel warm and slightly flushed), but I'm also getting a weird plastic-y tone to it that I don't like.

I think I'll put it away for a while and try it again later, see if aging it a bit helps.

  12. This is really interesting.

I smell the apricot the most, until I actually sniff my wrist close up. Then...wow. Dirt (wet soil, at that) and apricot, perfectly melded. Like you spent the day out in the garden.

I love it. Perfect for a day like today (rainy spring day).

  13. Oh, Shub, you've broken my heart.

This one just went wrong from the moment I put it on and my arm started burning. Eep. Not good! It's still kind of tingly an hour later.

And it smells just like gingerbread. Not fresh-baked gingerbread either, but the stuff from a gingerbread house kit. Fakey-ginger. It's also given me a headache. I'm thinking that I just can't do food scents, unless it's milk and/or honey, or fruit.

This one is going to be hitting the swap pile.

  14. I actually don't smell any rose in this at all.

It ends up kind of soapy on me, but not a bad soapy, if that makes sense. It's rather sharp and herbal, thanks to the rosemary, but there's a hint of sweetness around the edges from the orange blossom. Not much of a throw, though, really. Definitely a sinister scent, though :P

  15. When I opened it up and took a sniff, I nearly gagged. Sickeningly sweet. Uh oh.

Unfortunately it didn't get much better when I put it on. At first I got a few hints of cherry syrup (which could have redeemed it), but after it dried all I could smell is caramel and vanilla. Neither of which I can stand.

    Another miss for me...

  16. Mmmm. This is lovely.

In the bottle, it smelled like cherry cough syrup to me. Very sweet. But so far my experience is that the stuff that smells really sweet while wet tones down greatly when I try it.

And I was right! Once it dried it turned into a deep cherry scent, with the edge of the sweetness taken off by the musk and just a hint of dry spice (maybe the amber), with the strawberry peeking up slightly and a hint of florals. I smell no vanilla, but that's a good thing as I rarely like vanilla in anything. Very dark red, it strikes me as someone who's innocent on first glance, until you get to know them. Which makes this a great scent for me :P

A keeper! I may need a bottle of this.

  17. Very very sweet, juicy, fruity scent. When I first put it on, first thing it smelled like was grape cough syrup (my little sister told me I smelled like Skittles). But as it dried, it morphed into a slightly spicy grape (still very purple in my mind), and then over the past few hours turned into a gorgeous musky wine scent. Very deep, very red, and still very sweet and juicy and fruity.

Also, I've been wearing it 7 hours and it's only just now starting to fade.

    Love this one a lot.

  18. I think this is the first scent I've tried that I genuinely dislike. It just smells like buttered popcorn and vanilla to me - which are scents I dislike on their own, let alone together. Ugh. I had to wash this off, it was making me feel like I was going to throw up.

  19. It's making me want to lick my wrist.

It smelled kind of funky in the bottle, but once I put it on...yum! I sat there sniffing going "what is this...hmmm...oh! Pineapple and coconut!". Of course, neither is actually in there, so I'm guessing it's all the different notes blending together to smell like this.

It's a very tropical, juicy, fruity scent and I like it a lot. Great for summer (I will probably wear this to the wedding I have to go to in June)!
