    Pumpkin Patch I (2005, 2006)

Pumpkin Patch 1 In the bottle: Buttery, and almost nutty. Like a buttery Hesperides. On me/wet: Well, nutty apple. Almost too apple-y. Very sharp, and so far I feel like I'm wearing cheap potpourri. Drydown: Hmmm. I got distracted for 20 minutes and now this smells so much better! Cinnamon and spices have mellowed the apple scent and the not-so-good buttery/almost nutty note faded into the background. Now I feel that I should be wearing a sweater and drinking apple cider on a crisp fall day. 2 hours later: Gone. Not a whiff remains. Well, I do like it. I don't think I'd wear it, and it remains to be seen if I'd enjoy it as a room scent. Final verdict - undecided.

    Pumpkin Patch III (2005, 2006)

Pumpkin Patch 3. In the bottle: Am I the only one who thinks this smells just like Amoxicillin, the bubble gum flavored liquid you get as a kid? On me/wet: Seriously, now. It smells exactly like Amoxicillin. Weird. Drydown: OK, the pumpkin is beginning to come out some, and the pom has stepped off it's bubble gum high. Although I think I smell kind of like rotting fruit and spice. Eventually: After going through the bubble gum, pumpkin, and rotten fruit stage, we've finally accomplished a passable fruity, warm, faintly mulling spicey kind of blend. However, the first stages make me not want to really try again with this one. Why doesn't anyone else smell Amoxicillin???

    Pumpkin Patch IV (2005, 2006)

Pumpkin Patch 4 - oh, crap. Sandalwood. In the bottle: Buttery pumpkin. On me/wet: At first, it really does have a buttery note I wasn't expecting, but was completely unlike the cloying note in Jack. Maybe the dreaded sandalwood note won't come out on me... Drydown: Well, that was a faint hope. Actually, this has become a very dry, almost incensey blend reminscent of an autumn campfire. Unfortunately, it passed thru the campfire smell and then headed on til it was almost pure sandalwood.

    Pumpkin Patch II (2005, 2006)

Pumpkin Patch 2. In the bottle: Chocolate hazelnut goodness. On me/wet: A deep chocolate, but the pumpkin and nuts add a touch of sweetness. Drydown: It's really pleasant, sweet and foody without being cloying. I can't pick out the individual notes anymore, but get a general feeling of "nuttiness". This has gotten a little sweeter over the last hour or so, but the scent hasn't changed appreciably otherwise. It's very nice.

    Pumpkin Patch V (2005, 2006)

Pumpkin Patch 5. In the bottle: Pumpkin and freshly cut wood. On me/wet: Definitely the freshly cut wood - it smells slightly reminiscent of pencil shavings, so I'm guessing cedar or a close relative? I'm getting no greenery, but the pumpkin comes up as a base note. Drydown: The woods keep getting stronger, completely drowning out any pumpkin note. Woods love me, so this is no wonder. It reminds me of Harvest Moon, which did the same thing. 30 minutes later: Well, I object to smelling like a gerbil cage, so unfortunately I'll be swapping this one.

    Chimera

Chimera Well, poo! I love cinnamon, and looked forward to a changeable, shifting, warm cinnamony scent. Instead I got the immutable scent of...Play-doh. Damn.

    Sea of Glass

Sea of Glass - a freebie from modesty_blaise! This one has been diluted with a carrier oil, so might be a little different. In the bottle: A tinge of lemon, but mostly a fresh, clean scent. On me: Wow! Aquatic, ozone, a hint of citrus and white flowers. Mmmm.... This one is so pretty! I can't describe it any better, but it is really delicious. It doesn't really smell like the ocean to me, rather like Monet's "Waterlilies" picture would smell. Just beautiful. Perfect for summer!

    Coconut

Coconut On me: I really love coconut, and I agree that it does smell a lot like a freshly cracked open coconut. The weird thing is that fresh coconut has a slightly soapy edge to it that I find very noticeable in this imp. I find this one to be a combo of soap, suntan lotion, and plastic on my skin. Too much! This, along with vanilla bean, is a note that I evidently can't wear really well. It's no wonder that Spooky and Black Pearl didn't like me too much. Off to swap!

    Chokmah

Chokmah In the bottle: Resin and Pinesol. On me: Pine! No, sweeter! Root beer! No, woodier! Sassafras? Well, maybe, if it's root beer's woody cousin. Drydown: Well, it's sassafras one moment and then a light, sweet pin the next. It can't make up its mind, and neither can I. Do I like it? I'm not sure...

    Hod

Hod In the bottle: Creamy and light. On me: Mmmm! Sweet! This is like chai for the skin! Drydown: Yup, still chai. I think I love this. It's awfully sweet and creamy, though. And keeps getting sweeter! EDIT: Getting a little funky, and I'm not sure why. Maybe it's the carnation coming out.

    Geburah

Geburah In the bottle: Leather. The leathe note in De Sade, specifically. On me: Black leather. After a few minutes, it turns ito leather and Irish Spring. Definitely a masculine scent. Drydown: For the leather people *snork*, this would be fantastic. Not for me, though.

    Netzach

Netzach In the bottle: Am I crazy? I smell almonds. On me: Ah, there's the rose. It's the more pungent rose in the Empress, or in Rose Red. There is already an underlying powdery quality. Drydown: It's getting more green, like I'm no longer smelling the roses but the leaves or stem. Ooops, it's turning to rotting roses - not so good.

    Malkuth

Malkuth In the bottle: Spicy and fruity, but not cinnamon. On me: It's almost cinnamon, but not quite. Cinnamon's earthier, dirtier neighbor, perhaps. I'm also getting whiffs of...dog. Or maybe another large furry animal. Drydown: It's turning into sweet spices and wood! Kinda spicy, kind nutty (almost), this one is getting interesting! Dry and yet sweet - I like this one! EDIT: It's turned into a sweet, dry cinnamon stick. Not bad. Not bad at all!

    Binah

Binah In the bottle: Woods and resin. But not pine, like juniper only more...woody. On me: Funny, but I detect no woods upon application. Instead, it's super incense-y, with a streak of something really pungent that keeps trying to push its way to the front. Drydown: What is that?!?! It's a very strong resin, I think. Too much for me - even though I can't yet identify it, I must get it off.

    Yesod

Yesod In the bottle: Waxy white floral. On me: At first sniff, either jasmine or gardenia. There's a hint of aquatic in the background, but I guess based on the description I had expected more. Drydown: This one doensn't change much, although the strong white floral does fade somewhat. However, there's another note in the background that nows trying to get out: body odor. Eugh!

    Apricot

Apricot - from the Single Note Swap circle. In the bottle: Yup, dried apricots. On me: Well, it started as apricots. Then it morphs into something weird - it smells like sugary orange lollipops, complete with the chemical odor that goes with them. Um, no. I've had trouble with most of the apricot scents anyway, so I guess we're not destined to be together...

    Sweet Pea

Sweet Pea - from the Single Note swap circle. In the bottle: Light, bright green floral. On me: Ack! Sweet, cloying, almost waxy (I can't describe the way it smells to me ) This is not a winner for me - I smell like toilet bowl deodorizer! Perhaps I shall avoid Sweet Pea in the future!

    Sweet Clove

Sweet Clove - from the Single Note swap circle. In the bottle: Pumpkin pie. On me: Clove, clove, clovey, clove. This is amazing, sweet and spicy. Perfect! Screw Three Witches - I want this! I love it!

    Heliotrope

Heliotrope - from the Single Note swap circle. In the bottle: Alcohol, actually. I wonder if this is BPAL? On me: A light, sweet floral. So pretty! So very, very pretty! Delicate, yet definitely there. Wow! I need to find more blends with heliotrope, obviously.

    Pikaki

Pikaki - from the Single Note swap circle In the bottle: A light, white floral with a hint of greenery. On me: A little stronger - still a white floral, almost soapy. It fades almost immediately on me, blending more into the skin, with just a touch of floral. It's pretty, and much lighter than most of the white florals. I wouldn't go out of my way to get this in a blend, but it certainly wouldn't stop me!

    Grand Guignol

Grand Guignol In the bottle: Dried, tart apricots with a hint of craft store potpourri. Good so far! On me/wet: Apricot, yes. And also a highly flammable note that doesn't smell like brandy as much as high octance fuel. Not so pretty. Drydown: After an hour or so, it turns completely to apricots, which has been my experience with March Hare as well. I like it well enough, but don't love it.

    Rose

Rose - from the Single Note swap circle. I love rose. Really, really love rose. In the bottle: A pink rose. Green undertones, kind of like the rose in Rose Red. On me: A strong, fresh rose. Overpowering, seriously. Drydown: Doesn't change at all...still very strong, very traditional smelling rose oil. Surprisingly, I don't love this one. I prefer lighter rose notes, like those in London or Moon Rose. This one is just too heavy...too mature...too "old". It would be great for layering, though!

    Hyssop

Hyssop - from the Single Note swap circle. In the bottle: A cross between a white floral and sweet floral. Interesting! On me: A white, slightly soapy floral. Not overwhelmingly white, though. Quite pretty. Drydown: This one is just beautiful as it dries. The lightest white-smelling floral I've ever tried. Really nice on its own! I'd definitely wear this on its own (if it were mine ), and will seek out a blend or two with this particular note!

    Honey

Honey - from the Single Note swap circle. So, my skin seems to have major disagreements with Beth's honey notes. I'm not expecting anything nice out of this, sadly. In the bottle: A raw, floral honey. It's not really the scent of honey at all, to me. Instead, it's a musky, almost feral smell. On me: Oh yeah, this is the honey note that hates me. This is why O and Dana O'Shee smell icky on me. It's sort of floral, sort of plastic, sort of powdery. And very, very heavy. Yup, I have confirmed that Honey is not a good note with my skin. Thanks, Single Note swap circle!

    Grape

Grape - from the Single Note swap circle. In the bottle: A cross between grape bubble gum, fresh grapes, and the muscat-flavored gummies I was eating at lunch. On me: Yup, muscat gummies! That's the exact smell. Weird! It's not actually the smll of grape bubble-gum...more complex than that. It's quite pretty, once the initial kick wears off a little. Drydown: Mmmmm! Mmmmm! I love this. I totally didn't expect to, but I do. Wow!
