    Mania

out of the imp, it smells like candies but the scent follows thru, which a lot of the lighter candy bpal scents seem to lack for me. I like it thus far. wet, it has a general sweetness that could be described as strawberry leaf (definitly not strawberry alone) and behind that a sweet citrus dry, reminds me a lot of akuma without the sandalwood. pretty much no throw on me--most of these red musks like kabuki, etc dont stand up to my skin chemistry. it's pleasant but i dont think i'd really ever wear it.

    Devil's Claw

i got this one as a frimp and i, too, would have never ordered this...anything black and strong is not good for me. the vetiver, something i actually like in smaller doses, is out and overbearing. it's suffocating me---no like!!

    Hope

creamy sugared roses, a cross between peacock queen and rose red. here too is the plastic element of snow white but it is bearable cos the sugar is so strong. yum!!

    Faith

sugary creamy violet with a hint of the plastic-ness a la Snow White. i couldnt handle the Snow White, but the sugar in this makes the plastic ok. cant really say that i smell the violet in this one. it is a pretty, simple floral but i think i like hope better.

    Night Thoughts

out of the bottle, surprise! it's deeper than i would have thought - full on neroli and cedar wet, this'll sound bad but the dominate note is like an ashtray - a cold day-old ashtray. but the after-smell is lilac and blue musk, which is lightening it up dry, it all gets softer with the lilac and blue musk coming out more. i dunno what to think about this one. i am looking for a meaty lilac scent and of course this wasnt going to be it, yet this one is so unusual for lilac. maybe aging this one will give it more power in one decisive area.

    The Flower Song

out of the bottle, yum! pomegranate wet, this is fruit of paradise with even more bittersweet tones. it's rounded out by the grains dry, a charming light (not cloying) sweetness. just lovely - the reeds come out in the "after-smell"

    Her Voice

out of the bottle, i am hit with green floral freshness, eyt there is something else in there that prevents it from being completely floral. is it the heliotrope? i dunno what that note is--anyway it is fuckin gorgeous wet, it's a light non-incense version of Noche Buena. dry, hyacinth, lily of the valley and tiger lily are the strong notes. they all seem to ring true on my skin the beeswax seems to come out over time. no rose or carnation in this one for me.

    La Vita Nuova

out of the bottle, sweet apple blossom mand chamagne fizz tickle my nose wet, it's lively! same notes with a faint lemon balm grounding. white rose must be contributing to the smoothness of the scent. dry, it doesnt change all that much. i like the scent but it has no throw on me. nevertheless, i think the scent perfectly echoes the sentiment of excitement and hope in new love.

    The Spell of Amorous Love

wet, this has the brightness of a *gulp* bath&body works product...i suppose that's the sake givin it pizazz (ugh, did i really use that word?) the red currant is sweet but not thick as i would have thought dry, it is a light bubbly green tea w/cherry blossom overtones.

The Passionate Shepherd To His Love

wet, it's sweet and effervescent...very much the cut grasses and clover mentioned above. i smell a subtle note of carnation too. dry, still green no doubt, but the ivy, rose and carnation notes are detectable within very nice. i will enjoy the imp, as that is as much as i would need. i like the green-ness very much but couldnt see myself reaching for this one all that often.

    To Helen

wet, sweet beeswax cut w/white amber - it's almost like caramel with ozone to frizz out the edges. dry, yummy beeswax is strong and ethereal moonflower in the lightest possible way to sweeten and soften. the electric ozone stays at the edges to keep this from getting sludgy-sweet. so much yummy honey this is so wonderful - i never thought i would find a honey/beeswax scent that would work on me, even though i like it in nature. this one is such a surprise and a huge success, porlly my fave of the love poems. all hail goddess beth.

    The Presence of Love

wet, i'm confused--i dont really smell much. huh? where is my beloved jasmine and grapefruit? i just detect a pleasant sweetness, similar to rose but not fully that scent. it is so faint, it reminds me of glasgow...there'd be no way that this would have a throw on me. dry, mostly rose with the cleanliness of citrus. if there's jasmine in there, it is well-mixed. drat--i am a little disappointed. i saved this decant as the last to open, knowing that all of these notes were lovelies. i hope aging this one will help, but i wont be buying a bottle of this one.

    Greed

the only note that i am really sure i know the scent of is patchouli and we are arch enemies. wet, i know i can sense the patchouli, especially the inital part of its scent, but its familiar terrible green herby-aftersmell is not there. instead there is a deep, dark rich earthiness, what i imagine the copal and oakmoss would add. dry, um, it smells like taco meat. really, the spiciness of school lunch taco meat. yikes.

    Parentalia

wet, what a stunning, complex mix! a woodys/deep herbal mix with a soft pink rose blanketing the background dry, the majoram (and possibly ambrette) turn sour food on me with the cedar/cypress/rose mix so lovely and charming....garh! i wanted this one to work! damn those herbs!

    A Farewell to False Love

the whole love poems series makes my soppy romantic heart swoon...i love the lab idea of purple scents for longing and maybe that is why i persisted in ordering this one even though i know bpal lavender is not nice to me. wet, lavender dominates in that diaper ointment way. then it mixes with the balsam of peru to a subtle sweet lilt. dry, lavender top note, balsalm bottom note to a barely there paperwhite sandwich. the balsalm/lavender mix is just too weird for me. it is not as floral as i would have thought, which is ok--i like surprises, but this one is to swap....

    Al-Shairan

my first review! wet, this is a very good mix of cinnamon, orange and clove. the cinnamon has a liveliness that doesnt go too spicy and the clove is interesting, very much like a christmas scent. it is not sweet, as i would have imagined, so i guess this is where the dark incense lives. dry, the life of the scent dissipated and the incense, which i havent yet been able to find as a distinguishing note, is dominating in a flat, uninteresting way. thankfully the patchouli never really stands out. but i think this is to frimp away as i am a floral girl.

    CCNow Questions & Problems

ok, i am a newbie and i apologize if this sort of question has already been answered elsewhere... from my obsessive stalking of the CnS thread, it seems that the lab is already up to jan 9 for filling orders. i placed orders on jan 8 and 11, and i noticed my credit card was charged for both orders yesterday. does this mean that the 2 orders will be shipped together (and closer to when they start filling jan 11 orders)? i just cant help myself from asking after this, although i am perfectly aware that people usually wait weeks for their orders. i want mine now now now, please.
