A sweet lemony scent in the bottle. On my skin, it smells like lemon pledge. I just can't handle it

Mayhem is right. My nose wasn't sure what to make of this one. Slightly fruity with, perhaps, a hint of floral in the imp...and something which, honestly, struck me as stinky kitty litter.. On my skin it was more floral than fruit, but there is some strange scent lurking behind it all I just don't care for, so this one is for the swap pile.

A masculine scent which smells vaguely woodsy, fresh, herblike and clean in the imp. After drying on my skin, it turns to pure pine. Damn skin!

Bubblegum and cherry cola syrup in the bottle. Pure annise on my skin. Way too sweet for me.

i thought i'd love this one because i really am a fan of a lot of the rose scents, maybe it's the other florals in it that ruin this for me. in the bottle and on my skin it's just sickeningly sweet, and i'm not a fan of sweet, sweet smells.

A dark scent, indeed. I smell lots of vetiver, myrrh, and dark musks. Also maybe something pepery in there. Overall, a dirty, musky scent i'm rather fond of.

In the bottle this is very sweet, smells almost like a very sweet citrus. On my skin, it smells like a very sweet cleaning product. Kind of like an orange furniture polish. Some things are so not for my skin chemistry, and this is one of them

Luminescent, glowing, and otherworldly: green mandarin, neroli, honeydew, white amber, guava, freesia, white and green musks hovering over desert scrub, smashed wood, and the dry, biting scent of night air over the Groom Lake salt flats. i love, love, love, love, love this one! in the imp it smelled very clean and refreshing...just what i needed to smell as winter is finally melting away and spring is promising to settle in after all. wet on my skin it gave the same smell...clean and refreshing. after about 20 minutes light, fruity scents started to come out to play, but nothing overpowering or too sweet. there's also a nice, natural green scent to it under the light, sweetish fruity scent that gives it that overall clean, fresh feeling. it's almost a musky, fruity smell...and i LOVE it. ordered a full bottle off BPAL.

in the imp this smelled like damp earth. yum. when i first put it on, damp earth. yum. it faded fast on me, but i can still smell it faintly if i put my wrists right up to my nose and now it's sweet, earthy...like moist earth, sweet fruits, and sweet florals. smells excellent in my locket...just doesn't last long on my skin. lovely, though!

i almost gave this away because in the imp, i could barely smell anything... when i first put it on my skin...i could barely smell anything. i thought i'd gotten a bad batch or it was just a very weak scent or something. but in a few minutes...wow...the rose, amber, musks and whatever other dark, luscious goodness is in there really started to come out...slowly. this one is a creeper. it went on almost scentless and slowly came to life on me. it's lovely, dark, and dramatic. i adore this!

in the imp this was very sharp...sour, salty...i liked it, though. reminded me of zombi, but without the overpowering florals that give me an immediate headache. wet on my skin it smelled exactly the same as in the bottle and had tons of throw. now that i've had it on about 3-1/2 to 4 hours, the scent has morphed and is no longer so sharp and sour. it's a warmer, earthier scent now with some lovely mossy notes and the dirt smell in it is starting to come out nicely but isn't all dirt and mixes nicely with the mosses, rose and other scents. overall, it's a nice mossy, dirty, floral that just sings of earth, nature and life. i LOVE it and am very glad i ordered a full bottle of it which will hopefully arrive soon!

i'm still on the fence about milk moon. normally i don't like fruity scents, but wanted to try this because of the milkyness and the honey...i'm really into honey lately. i'm not getting the spoiled milk a lot of people are talking about, but a warm milkiness like cooking milk for hot chocolate...creamy and maybe with just a tiny tinge of sour. the fruit seems to be tempered by the milk so it's not terribly overwhelming and doesn't strike me as WHOA FRUIT! there's also a nice, floral undertone i'm loving and a touch of sweetness from the honey. what i'm not completely sure of yet is the overall sweetness...it may be a little too sweet for me in an over-ripe fruit kind of way. i've only had it on for a couple of hours, i'll let it wear a bit longer and see how it changes, and wear it a couple more times before deciding for sure if i dig this or not. Five hours later I am LOVING this. it's now a warm, soft floral with a nice honey coating. the possibly too sweet overlay is gone as is the slightly sour milk scent. it's just cozy and yummy now. even the scent in my locket has changed to floral and honey.

I love this! Swapped for a partial bottle without ever having smelled it before and was somewhat iffy about the peach because i'm not usually a fruity scent kind of person, but i'm glad i took a chance on this one, it's so lovely. in the bottle it's very soft and subdued, i was kind of worried it wouldn't have much smell at all and i'd have to really drench myself in it to get anything, but such was not the case. it wears well and has lasted long. on my this is a lovely, light floral that doesn't make me sneeze and isn't overwhelming and has a faint, juicy peach undertone i don't find too fruity or overwhelming at all. the florals and fruit blend perfectly into a very feminine and sophisticated perfume. a keeper i am sure i will be wanting more of when the bottle runs out!

I wanted to love this one so bad, and there are aspects of it I do love, but there is some strong note of...something...and I have no idea what...that stands out so strong I can't bare to wear it. It gives this scent an almost synthetic smell on me and it's overwhelming. I can smell the gorgeousness of the rest of the scent behind it and so want to be able to have the rest of that scent on it's own, but alas, that one note pretty much drowns and chokes everything else out. Off to swaps with thee.

first sniff -> boozey. i was a bit intimidated at first, thought this was going to make me smell like i'd had a long, hard night in some local bar...yet, at the same time it was sweet and comforting and yummy. on wet -> still boozey, but more sweet and warm with boosey undertones, this was really starting to grow on me. dry -> mmmm. yummy. i don't smell like i was up all night partying at all. i just smell decadent and tastey. this is rich and dark. the boozeyness of it tempers the sweetness of it and vice-versa. together they mingle and make something divine. i really like this one and am glad i gave it a go even though i first found it intimidating.

The Venusian splendor of ylang ylang and violet stirred by hyssop, frankincense, and grave loam. couldn't resist an imp of this as an old lit/writing major and dickinson fan. in the imp i really didn't smell much of anything...a very, very slight floral fragrance, almost too light and delicate to detect. on my skin wet it was also very light, delicate and floral. once it dried, it turned slightly mossy and green, with the delicate florals in the background. overall, a very lovely fragrance, but a little too delicate for my tastes. i'm gonna use up the imp, though

I LOVE WHIP! i totally get the rose and the leather...both are soft and subtle, perfectly blended to the point you can't distinguish the scents from each other. when i got this imp i instantly fell in love and bought a bottle. when i wear this fragrance i ask people to smell it and tell me what they smell and they always say they're not sure, but they love it. when i tell them it's rose and leather, they sniff it again and then they smell it in there. perfect, perfect, perfect...and genius! beth does it again!

this is such a strong, musky, dirty scent, i love it! in the bottle i really get the civet and patchouli, smells a bit floral, too. once i put it on, though, damn my chemistry! it turns all masculine and i smell like i've been sitting around old men smoking pipes and cigars all night. no kidding. on my skin it smells strongly of STRONG tobacco and nothing else. it actually gave me a headache so i can't even wear this one. i'm so bummed 'cause i love the smell on others and in the bottle, but it just doesn't work on me and debauchery IS my middle name...

in the bottle i didn't think i'd like it. it was rather strong and cologne-like smelling. it was one i thought i'd end up giving to my husband. but i tried it today and, oh my...i'm so bummed it's retiring! wet this was such a delicious floral bouquet. very soft and feminine. dry, the same floralness, but lighter and that interesting salty kick comes out and makes it just fabulous. i mean, really...who else on earth could come with this stuff. floral salty smelling perfume. wonderufl, amazing, perfect. i love it. i'm so sad it's going away=/

when i first smelled this one in the imp, i thought it would be one that i traded or gave to a friend wanting to try BPAL. i gave it a try, though...i give everything a good, sporting try. you can't knock it 'til you try it, right? it was just so overpoweringly strong and whoa watch out clove it frightened me. when i put it on, the clove was still strong, but the orange came forward and mingled with it so nicely it made the clove not so scary. (clove sometimes makes me nauseous because of all the clove cigarettes i smoked in college). when dried, yum! cinnamony orange clove! wow, what a delicious combination, i never would have thought of these things as going together so wonderfully...what a genius made this concoction! going on my list of "must get bottles"!!!!

in the imp this screamed RED to me. a syrupy kind of red. maybe cherry, but almost a cherry left on the tree so long it's started to rot. sweet, but not in a foody way...in a just on the verge of rotting way. once i put this on and it dried, the sweet, syrupyness died away and i was left with more of a red musk with just a hint of that near rotting cherry sweetness underneat. i didn't detect any florals on myself in this one at all. just musky cherry. i thought it was weak smelling on me and almost wiped it off and put on something else, but when my husband hugged me, he told me i smelled really good, so i left it on

my first big bottle purchase and i'm not at all disappointed. in the bottle it was all patchouli and spices. mmm! i LOVE patchouli, so i was thrilled about that. when it first put it on and it was still wet, i smelled a bit like a cupcake - yummy, dark, sweet, vanilla...but with a spicey undertone. now that it's dry, it's just divine! spicy with subtle pathcouli and vanilla. delicious! i'm in heaven and sniffing myself non-stop and making everyone else sniff me, too!

in the imp i could smell a mossy green and the lilly and rose came as a strong "after wiff". once i put it on and it dried down a bit, it was all lillies on me. at first a little overpowering, but then it died down a little and was just lovely and delicate and lingered all day long. in fact, i put it on 14 hours ago now, and i can still smell it lightly. this is one of my new favorites...i guess lilly and rose work well with my chemistry.

all honeysuckle and sweetness in the bottle. once i put it on and it dryed down a little, the cinnamon started to come out. i love this combination! sweet and spicey, sugary and fiery. not at all subtle, but very, very warm and nice.

I love the perfume "Chloe Narcisse" and was wondering if any of you long timers here would have any suggestions of BPAL scents similar to the perfume?
