A soft, sweet rose I'm really liking. Not quite like the big, fat, wet roses of Whip. This rose is much, much softer and there some underlying sweetness to the scent which keeps the rose from becoming totally overpowering. Mmm. Loving it.

a sweet, foody(ish) scent i can wear without gacking! i love this. out of the bottle, on my skin, and dried down i get honey, amber and sweet fruits. yum. it's not really foody on me, just honey, amber sweet goodness. a warm, comforting scent that makes my kitties smell my skin a lot. a lovely scent i'm glad i bought and plan to really enjoy!

I love dragon's blood and the story surrounding Glasya, which is what prompted me to get this bottle. It doesn't smell like dragon's blood on me, though. Maybe it's the civet drowning it out, i'm not sure. I'm still undecided on this one and will have to test it a few more times before deciding if this is a bottle I want to keep or swap. In the bottle this struck me as dark, dirty and very earthy. Bloody, but not in a Dragon's Blood way...in a "i've just slaughtered a bunch of people" sort of way. On my skin wet there were lovely light floral notes, the civet came out, and some lovely muskiness. Now that it's dried down, it's much more floral...i can detect the rose, but it's very mingled with dark musks and civet. It's a warm, red scent. Like blood. I like it, but so far am not in love with it. The label is wonderful, though. But like I said, this is my first time trying it so I need to sample it a few times before making up my mind.

in bottle - amber, honey and fruit. on skin wet - same as in bottle. once it's dried down - this is a gorgeous mix of a warm, sweet amber and honey-dipped fruits. but not just any fruits...lush, dark, fruits oozing juiciness. There's a warmth and sweetness to this scent which balance each other out so it's not overly sweet. i'm wearing it on a gorgeous spring day, and though the scent is heavier and would be good for a hot, humid day when sweet, juicy fruits abound, it feels light and perfect for today as well. i'm digging this one, for sure...but not adding it to my "want a full bottle of this stuff" list yet. needs a few more tests!

this does scream "put me on a cute boy you want to cuddle with". i gave this imp directly to my husand. it smells really damn good, not too floral for a guy, a definite masculine scent, but light and pretty, too. maybe like cologne used to smell before it had to be all ultra-manly, edgy and weird smelling. it's a warm, comforting masculine scent...like that cuddly teddy bear male friend who always makes you laugh and gives great hugs when you need them.

i'm in love with blood amber. in the imp smells like a lighter, sweeter dragon's blood. on my skin, the amber really starts to come through. once this dries out, it's such a gorgeous, rich, sweet and regal scent. warming and resinous. this is going on my big bottle want list, for sure.

i love this scent. i think it's very elegant, ladylike and sorrowful. the three florals mix together beautifully. normally i'd never wear lilac...i love them on the trees in my yard, but they can be overpowering and too sweet and it's not a scent i'd want chasing me around all day. but combined with rose and wisteria, it's just lovely. mysterious elegance. like a proper lady hiding her dark side. i need a bottle!

i'm not getting lemon at all like a lot of people said they were. in the bottle i get a sweet smell tempered by florals. it's yummy and gives me high hopes. on my skin it's exactly like in the bottle at first. dries to a bit of a powdery smell which i usually don't like, but this one has a dark sweetness and dark floral behind it which i'm still really liking a lot despite the floral. After a few hours it's dark and a mix of bitter and sweet. Kind of sexy and sultry. This one is a keeper so I'm glad I nabbed the whole bottle off ebay!

Rose Recommendations - which blend is for me?
sadtomato replied to Nadirah's topic in Recommendations
Whip is by far my favorite rose scent. the black leather in it shouldn't scare you off 'cause it's so soft and faint it's not at all harsh. I find this one to be a softer rose than a lot of the other rose scents. I also love Black Rose & Rose Cross. And Zombi when I want something much stronger. -
Kubla Khan is one of my favorite scents and I'm going to need another big bottle of this because I foresee myself going through this bottle rather quickly. This is a warm, sweetish, golden scent containing notes of pretty much everything I adore so of course I couldn't pass it up. In the bottle this is a little too sweet, almost like syrup. On my skin, the sweetness dies down drastically and there is more of a warm, resiny scent. The opium smoke, amber tobacco, sandalwood, champaca, hay, and dark vanilla come out beautifully and mingle together into something warm, slightly sweet and incredibly decadent. I'm sooooo in love! A real winner in my book.

I had problems with some of the dragon's blood blends so was a bit cautious of straight up Dragon's Blood when it came as a frimp in my last lab order. How wrong I was to have any worries, though, this is gorgeous and divine! A warm, powerful, sensual scent I love. I need a bottle of this! This RED scent oozes power and has a warm, slightly sweet floral/woodsy/resiny scent to it which I adore. An imp isn't enough to wear and try for ritual purposes, so it's being added to my list of bottles I most have.

this wasn't sweet or orangey on me like a lot of people have said it was on them. i got a bit of a whiff of orange from the bottle, but once i put it on my skin it was almost pure spicey red patchouli, which was lovely and mellowed down to something dark, smooth and slinky. the tiniest touch of sweetness came through later, but not an overwhelming sweetness at all or a foody sweetness...just a nice little sweet note to balance out the darkness of the patchouli. i'd call this a smooth, sexy red scent...but not a hot red scent...a red so dark it borders on black kind of red scent. this one's a keeper for me.

i bought this one on ebay never having smelled a sample of it before, but loving the mix of things in it and wondering what all of them together would end up smelling like on me. i'm not at all disappointed. the smiles start with the gorgeous label and just keep on coming. i think the label kind of sums it all up, actually...a sunny, spring fragrance, but not a warm kind of a sunny, a cooling kind of sunny. like the early days of spring when the remnants of winter chills still linger in the air but you're so happy the snow has melted and the sun is out you don't care and go running outside in t-shirts and sandals anyway. this scent is spring to me. i'm not getting much of the fruity, just a tiny hint of citrus which gives it more of a sunny zing than a fruity feeling. when i breathe this one in i feel like i'm driving through the freshly budding countryside with my windows down, and sure i'm sneezing, but who cares, spring breezes of florals, greens and long awaited sun are blowing through my hair and nothing can bring me down.

amber, violet and musk. it's gorgeous and i have to have me a bottle. sweetness, woodsiness, florals and sandalwood. so many things i love all combined into one. i get a very purple feeling from this. love it. may need a full bottle of this one.

very wet, murky and dark smelling. much like i would expect a hurricane to smell...all the dirty and debris that would be stirred up by the winds and downpours. a very unusual and interesting scent. not one i'd wear often, but i'll certainly keep the imp and try to acquire more of them in the future.

i didn't think i'd like this one, the description sounded kind of distrubing. however, it's a gorgeous scent. there's a sweetness to it i wasn't expecting. also the lovely saltiness of the sea and the smell of the breezes coming off the sea. Reminds me of a northern ocean experience, like i've experienced in maine and alaska. i'll have to get a bottle of this to hold me over while i'm landlocked in illnois between trips to the cabin is alaska.

i thought maybe amsterdam would smell like hash, but it totally doesn't. i get water, green grass and some light florals here. i think i'm in love. this scent just screams summer to me and i must have it so i smell of summer all summer long in a lovely way, not a sweaty way!
-
amber and honey, yum. this is a delicious combination. i got this in a lot i bought on ebay, never would have tried it otherwise because of the berries (not a fruity person), but it's really gorgeous. the berries don't ever come to the forefront on me or make the blend overly sweet, just lends a nice, light sweetness to the florals. nothing is overwhelming in this scent. evenly balanced and very pretty.

i might give this one to the hubby 'cause he wants all the manly ones, but damn...it smells so good! wet in the bottle and wet on the skin it smelled like a lemony cleaning product for a while, but then dried down to a gorgeous amber scent wtih just a touch of pine. pine is usually amped on my skin, but the amber won out in this one, thankfully. i'm gonna keep it a while, wear it at least once or twice, then maybe the hubby can have the left overs

yum! this is a spring/summer need. very greed, invigorating and clean. tea with a kick.
-
this is wonderful it's got a scent about it i haven't encountered in anything else. something airy and dry that just whafts off my skin and fills the air around me. dead, withered flowers; old, abandoned house filled with the dried up pages of old books. i love it!
-
lovely! i don't like fruity scents so was afraid i wouldn't like this one but am not really picking up the fruity notes. they are adding a bit of sweetness to the florals, but that's about it. overall, a slightly sweet and floral scent. light, not at all overpowering. springy and uplifting.
-
interesting. sweet, wet cucumber. like i just rubbed a cucumber and some sugar on my skin. i'm digging it, would be nice on a sweltering summer day - a nice, cool scent. very natural.
-
though this has more of a traditional perfume smell than most BPAL oils, i still am liking it. in the bottle it's all light florals. on my skin i get the florals mixed with something oddly peppery when it's wet. peppery fades when it dries and is a light, clean, crisp aquatic floral. doesn't last long, but it's a lovely scent!

i'm not usually one for foody scents but decided to keep this imp when i got it in a surprize lot of imps i bought of ebay. it's just sooooo yummy smelling. warm, tastey vanilla and girl scout thin mint cookies. nummers! love it!
