  1. I've used jojoba oil as a carrier oil to extend the life of my imps . . . it's too light. The version I used is very good scent-wise (as in there's no scent to speak of) but it didn't mix well with any of my scents. And when I would shake it up I could see the little bits of the BPAL oil.

It could be the imp containers are not conducive to mixing. But that was my impression of it.

  2. I love the smell of roses but I’m wary of over-flowery perfumes. Spices and my skin play well together, so this seemed like a good selection.

Bottle: dripping wet roseroserose . . . heat? That’s from the cinnamon to be sure.

Wet: Definitely roses. More of a fresh, almost green scent of roses at that. Very little cinnamon.

Drying: The cinnamon begins to stand out much more. The roses move into the background, but add a refreshing kind of sweetness to the spice.

Dry: This gets very light on me, with the faintest hint of cinnamon and sweet rose.

This is one of those scents I would need to use more of to get a real impact from. But it's delightful all the same.

  3. This is a combination of some of my favorite scents, so I decided to give it a try.

Bottle: Vanilla syrup, but deliciously so.

Wet: Still sweet but turning a bit fruity. The vanilla is there, but it’s an aftereffect. In the background there’s something strong and almost smoky in the background, which is surely the DBR.

Drying: The vanilla mellows out quite a bit allowing the DBR to come forward, but there’s still a lingering sweetness.

Dry: A perfect balance of the two main scents, with a hint of powdery sweetness, not dissimilar to Blood Amber, but sweeter, and mellower.

I really like this scent. I would definitely buy a 5ml of it, especially since it pairs so nicely with Blood.

  4. I ordered this because I love amber, and I love the Blood perfume so it seemed a natural choice. Given the mix of resins in Blood already, amber should compliment it nicely.

Bottle: Less fruity than blood, warmer. I definitely smell the amber.

Wet: The fruity notes come to the front, and there’s a drier, powdery background note as well. There’s some spice but it’s minimal.

Drying: Warm and powdery, less fruity. There’s almost a tanginess to it as well. Pomegranate or blood orange? It’s fruit, but not the brightness of citrus or the cloying sweetness of cherries.

Dry: Tangy powder with a hint of spice and a lot of warmth.

I'm not sure I would order a 5ml, but I may order another imp.

  5. Upon re-ordering this and wearing it again, I’m not sure I’m as big of a fan of the scent straight. The middle notes become oddly metallic on me every so often.

Bottle: Wet notes are always the most obvious, spicy cherry with a hint of the dragon’s blood.

Wet: More cherry, with a stronger hint of spice.

Drying: the spice and resin becomes more prominent, with the cherry fading into the background. Later, spicy myrrh with the afterthought of cherries.

Dry: almost smoky, and spicy. A little bit sweet as well.

I do love this, but I love it better paired with something else. Last night I tried it with dragon's milk and it was absolutely delightful.
