LAMIA 'And you said you’d pay me for being your guide. And it’s what I want, as my payment. Warmth. Can I have some?' Anything she wanted. Anything. The honeysuckle and the lily of the valley wrapped around him, and his eyes saw nothing but her pale skin and her dark plum-bloom lips and her jet black hair. Deadly elegance: pale orchid, vanilla amber, black currant, white peach, champaca, coconut, Arabian myrrh, Burmese vetiver, and oude. On the skin: Let's see.... I can smell a sweetness that must be the peach and the amber as well as a large hint of coconut. There is a very slight earthy note in there that I keep losing that must be the vetiver. Definitely not the dominator in the blend!! After a bit, all I can smell is a sweetness that I still think is mainly the vanilla amber. It is a slight sweetness. I can also smell the coconut. This reminds me of actual fresh coconut rather than sweetened coconut. It is slightly bitter. And then poof.... it magically disappears? Maybe my nose is too used to this scent, but I can hardly smell it after the first 15 minutes or so... Will have to test again!

NIGHT’S BRIDGE And then they turned a corner, and saw the bridge. It could have been one of the bridges over the Thames, five hundred years ago, thought Richard; a huge stone bridge spanning out over a vast black chasm, into the night. But there was no sky above it, no water below. It rose into darkness. Stone and darkness. The color of this oil is truly amazing! It is a mixture of a yellow and a blue green and is quite similar to the icon above. This oil separates really easily. With a description of "stone and darkness", this blend smells quite fresh and slightly sweet! Kinda like a perfumey moss that would cover cobblestones. I am afraid that I can't pick out any specific notes, but it is actually quite nice! Not at all what I was expecting!

THE CURATOR Mysterious herbs and ancient resins. Dust settled on ancient relics, both holy and malevolent. I actually quite like this one. Mostly incensey resins with a hint of sweet herbs. It is quite a mysterious scent. I think this one would be a winner on the SO! This one can be a bit strong.

THE VELVETS Five almost identically dressed, pale young women walked past him. They wore long dresses made of velvet, each dress as dark as night, one each of dark green, dark chocolate, royal blue, dark blood, and pure black. Each woman had black hair and wore silver jewelry; each was perfectly coifed, perfectly made up. They moved silently: Richard was only aware of a swish of heavy velvet as they went past, a swish that sounded almost like a sigh. Smooth inky musk, cathedral incense, ylang ylang, violet leaf, rose-infused amber, red sandalwood, and iris. On the skin: The musk here kinda reminds me a bit of Black Temple Burlesque Troupe. Black musk? Then some incense and a sweetness that I think is the amber and ylang ylang. Still have trouble actually picking ylang ylang out in a blend. Definitely a black musk with a hint of incense and a sweetness that turns ever so slightly soapy on my skin. Must be the florals? Not bad though! -ETA- Oh, my! The further this dries, the more amazing it gets! Now it is an amazingly smooth sweet scent! Not much throw on me, but is so nice and comforting the more it dries!

In the bottle: At first I thought I smelled some kind of fruit, but now I think there might be something vanillaish in there as well. I am really at a complete loss when it comes to determining the notes in this one. It is just a lovely, perfumey blend. So comforting and nice! On the skin: Okay, I am getting some note that also was in Glowing Vulva, as well as a deep fruit. Pretty good. It is definitely a perfumey blend. No foodiness in this one! This one is definitely a keeper! The boyfriend appreciates it as well (and he is VERY picky only really liking foody scents). A wonderful shocker!

SARA PEZZINI A hint of leather and an understated vintage musk layered over the scent of lightly perspiring, honey-dusted skin. Okay, I had to get a bottle of my own for this one. I just love Witchblade (used to watch the t.v. show), so I am determined to love this scent! Also, the bottle label is awesome!! On the skin: Skin musk and leather with a sweetness that must be honey. These scents together smell slightly strange at first, but they quickly blend into something amazing! A light sweet scent with not too much throw, but that is definitely okay because I think I will just smell myself all day! Mmmmm!

HEROINE Nepalese amber, East African patchouli, dark musk, apple blossom, petitgrain, aged leather, skin musk, and rhubarb. I just got this in the mail today, so it hasn't fully had 24 hours yet to recover from the mailing. If anything changes, I will definitely come back and write an update! On the skin: So far the dark musk hasn't taken over. Yay! It usually turns to instant sweet powder on my skin and makes all blends with it smell the same to me. I can smell the dark musk though. The rest is just a blend. I think I am mostly smelling apple blossom, the amber, and a muskiness. Not sure what rhubarb smells like, so I don't know if I can smell it. At the beginning there was a slight edge to this scent that smelled slightly... sharp/sour, but it has faded already. Now it is a sweet muskiness. No hint of leather or patchouli that I can smell. Just a lovely, sweet muskiness. Not candy sweet, though. I am definitely going to have to try this again!

Disclaimer: I have not tried the released version, so I can't really compare!! In the bottle: Whoa! That is some intense cream cheese frosting! On the skin: Oh, wow! Rich cream cheese frosting, sugar, and a hint of spices. If I thought I could taste whatever this scent smells like by gnawing at my hand, I would do it in a heartbeat! I just want to eat this!! Drying off a bit: The cream cheese frosting is fading a bit and I am now getting more of the spices. They aren't sharp at all. Just lovely, yummy baking spices. I'd say a hint of cinnamon, maybe some nutmeg, and a bit of.... something else. This spices point reminds me a little of how I remember Bakeneko to be. Dry now: The cream cheese is gone now, but the light, yummy spices are still here with a bit of cakiness undertone. Reminds me of how the house smells when I have sweet baked goods in the oven! The one drawback to this scent is that it seems to fade pretty quickly. Within an hour or two, all I could detect was a faint whiff of vanilla. Still good though! -ETA- I just want to thank my lovely angel for sending me this one randomly!! You know me veeeery well!!

In the bottle: Candied, sweet oranges! So yummy! To me, it is close to Jingo-Kogo, yet this one does not have as much creaminess. It is more sugary than creamy. On the skin: Exactly the same as in the bottle! Also, this scent actually lasts quite a bit on me for an orangey scent! Yay! One of my favorite scents of the night!!

CRYPT KING You would know the secret of death. But how shall you find it unless you seek it in the heart of life? The owl whose night-bound eyes are blind unto the day cannot unveil the mystery of light. If you would indeed behold the spirit of death, open your heart wide unto the body of life. For life and death are one, even as the river and the sea are one. In the depth of your hopes and desires lies your silent knowledge of the beyond; And like seeds dreaming beneath the snow your heart dreams of spring. Trust the dreams, for in them is hidden the gate to eternity. Your fear of death is but the trembling of the shepherd when he stands before the king whose hand is to be laid upon him in honour. Is the shepherd not joyful beneath his trembling, that he shall wear the mark of the king? Yet is he not more mindful of his trembling? For what is it to die but to stand naked in the wind and to melt into the sun? And what is to cease breathing, but to free the breath from its restless tides, that it may rise and expand and seek God unencumbered? Only when you drink from the river of silence shall you indeed sing. And when you have reached the mountain top, then you shall begin to climb. And when the earth shall claim your limbs, then shall you truly dance. The Crypt Queen’s dapper consort: pomegranate juice, black pepper, oakmoss, coriander, black ginger, patchouli, dracaena, and a splash of lilac fougere. This scent is very interesting! On the skin: Hello, pomegranate! This is a lovely, slightly sweet pomegranate with a hint of mossiness and cologne. I want my guy to smell like this! After a bit, the cologne and pomegranate back off a bit and I can definitely smell a lovely, spicy almost earthy greenness. I feel this would be perfect on the right man, but isn't quite right for my girly self! It is blended amazingly though!

I couldn't find a thread for this one, so I think it is time to make one! Thanks so much to my secret angel!! I you!! In the bottle: Smells to me like a light vanilla. Reminds me of XCDL13 and Antique Lace a bit, but at the moment all I can really smell is a nice, light almost floral vanilla with no alcohol. On the skin: This one is beautiful! I get more vanilla on my skin, but it is definitely a floral vanilla rather than a foody vanilla, but I still wouldn't quite classify this scent as floral. It is such a light, airy scent that I could definitely associate with elves! Such a beautiful, light scent that really feels comforting to me. You will have to pry this bottle from my cold, dead fingers! -ETA- From application to dry down, this scent does not morph on me at all! It smells exactly on me as it does in the bottle and the floral vanilla wafts nicely from my skin. Wow, this scent is just..... pretty!

YÜREI The most fearsome of Kaidan's conjured warriors, his sword can shear through anything--or anyone. White tea, hibiscus, Arabian sandalwood, white amber, ho leaf, pale Japanese flowers, and vetiver. A nice light sweet/tart scent! Not getting any vetiver yet. Yay!! I think I am mostly smelling the tea and possibly the hibiscus. This scent is turning into a tart scent with a slight hint of bubblegum. Kinda weird. I feel like I have smelled something similar, but for the life of me I can't remember what it was. I am afraid that this scent isn't for me.

VOLT A living electrical battery, Volt plays the wiseass clown for his teammates, using humor to mask his awkwardness and his need for acceptance. Leather with a shock of eucalyptus, green mint, elemi, ravintsara and lime. Had to try this one! It has lime!! On the skin: This is very tame eucalyptus! There is no herbal bite to it at all! Just a lovely coolness! Must be the mint and eucalyptus working together! There is also something slightly tart here which could be the lime, but since I am not getting a citrusy feel, it could be a different note. Also, there is a smooth, soft undertone that makes this blend smell quite good! Both the mint and eucalyptus fade quite quickly on me and then there is an indescribable blend of tart and softness.

SKY CITY (AFTER) The smoldering ashes of a dead city: smoke and cinders, scorched wood, creosote, tar-smeared concrete, singed bone, and dried blood. On the skin: A sweet burnt cedar wood? Might be slightly wrong on the wood type, but it reminds me of cedar. Quite different and strange. Definitely the scent I would expect from a dead city! Well, I might expect an actual metallic hint, so maybe this is really a singed forest...

Oooh! This one is good! I definitely smell the peach in this one. Kind of a breezy peach with a dollop of honey and lots of musk. This scent has a very airy quality to it that I associate with musk. I like this one! The tobacco shows up after a bit and now I'm not so sure I like it. Tobacco tends to go a little weird on me.
-
This has less peach than I was expecting and I think that was a good choice. Instead of having the peach note be the highlight, it is nicely blended together. To me this smells golden with a stripe of green. Kinda woodsy with musk and only a hint of peach. I almost wish there was a bit more peach in here. A perfumey scent and pleasant, but I'm not sure if it is for me.
-
A very clean/ozone scent. Just stepped out of the shower scent. Not for me, but on the right guy this could be heavenly.
-
Smells like crystalline musk, violet, and a hint of vanilla to me. A very effervescent, pretty scent. The airy quality to this fades a little after awhile and from then on it is violets and vanilla. Not bad, but not me.
-
This scent is more on the cologne side than I'd like. Not for me, but I bet it would smell amazing on the right man.
-
This scent makes me think of honeyed cola. Huh. Definitely not what I was expecting. After a bit this scent turns bubblegum sweet on my skin. Weird? Not for me.
-
Definitely ginger and clove in this one. It is so spicy that it immediately makes me think of gingerbread. A slightly woody/smoky gingerbread? This is the perfect autumn/winter scent. All spicy goodness! I think this one is going to stick around in my collection for awhile.
-
Lovely! I get a lot of rich vanilla, peach blossom and a slight melange of other florals. Really, this is a very tasty scent. As time goes on the amber in this scent really blooms. Even better! I definitely smell the resemblance to Haloes, but I think I like that one a bit better. This is a very lovely scent and I like it, but I don't think it is in my top ten.
-
In the bottle: Nice peaches! Reminds me more of the peach smell from Snow Angel rather than the fresh peaches of Philommeides. Peach is the only note I pick up, though this is definitely a perfumey peach rather than a yummy peach. On the skin: Still peaches, but now there is definitely something else there. I have no idea what it is. Nice, sweet, yet not really foody.
-
Should be interesting! On the skin: Kinda light on me, but I do detect a slightly woodsy vanilla. Reminds me of the Antikythera Mechanism. A lot! It's really nice and pretty, but it's not the scent for me.
-
I never wrote a review for this one? Weird! On the skin: I get mostly oak, tonka, vanilla, and a tinge of lovely white florals. Very pretty. It's a bit strange though... I think this scent is trying to turn slightly plasticky on me. *sad face* I remember this one smelling so nice on me! It used to be one of my favorites, but now it just doesn't seem to work.
