Amber, cream accord, white honey, apple blossom, skin musk, caramel, and teak. I am not a foody lover. This was not one of my initial top picks. In the bottle it smells like foody caramel. On the caramel moves back and fresh crisp green apples and teak come forward. I didn't think I liked apples in perfume, but this is nice. The woody teak and amber notes ground it and warms it up. Cream is very light and far in the background with the musk and caramel. Overall it is very well blended and quite nice. This should be lovely in the fall, but is not to strong for warmer days either. I am glad I have my bottle.

    Cytherea

To me this is really more of a feeling than a scent. Smokey soft wispy grey and white. There is some dry vanilla in the background, but it is not sweet. I like it, but I am on the fence over whether or not I need a whole bottle.

    Clémence

Smells very similar to Queen Alice to me. Clovey spicey scent with carnations far in the background. The patchuli is smooth and mellow. Very warm and cozy. I want a bottle of Clemence. I see myself wanting her often in the fall and winter.

    Inez

Almost foody at first, but calms down into sandlewoody, vanilla musk, amber, with a drop of carnation floating in the back ground. Office appropriate, and yet sexy at the same time. I need a few bottles of this one.

I was afraid the cocoa would be prominent, but it isn’t. It is very nice. Fresh cut peaches with a drop of honey. Not too sweet, just right. Unfortunately, I do not often want to smell like peaches. But if I did this would be total win. I will keep my decant for a nice hot summer day.

    Ashlultum

Hmm... I wanted this to be musky vanilla tea coconutty tobacco. But alas the lilac seems to be most prominent. Wet I get lilac and coconut in the background. After about an hour the lilac fades and I get the faint smell of coconutty tobacco behind some lilac. This is nice. Maybe with some aging the tobacco will come out more. And maybe the coconut too.

    Phoenix Steamworks

In the bottle: sharp sage and slighty metallic warm scent. Wet on skin: same as in bottle, but sage isn't as sharp and the metallic is more polished gold. Dry on skin: Mmmmm... warm smooth sage and polished gold with light, not sweet, vanilla lingering in the background. I like this one very much and am exceited to see what else Beth has in store for us with this collection!

    Hanami

Smelled perfumey in the bottle, but like a nice expensive perfume. Smelled much better if my nose wasn’t so close. It smells clean and warm, but not ozoney in any way. This is light, warm, and pink. This gets 100 x better as it dries. The smell comes out more. Definitely Japanese, at least that is what it reminds me of. It is very unique and difficult to describe. I did not like it much wet, but I LOVE it dry. It is a sophisticated expensive Japanese smell. Gorgeous.

    Sugar Moon 2008

At first I get something reminiscent of Red Lantern. But Red Lantern without the opium and coconut. No fruits at first. The sugar is caramelized. Nice. As it dries it gets sooo much better! The sugar is white and fresh. There are strawberries in the background. Far in the background, behind the warm rich woody notes. It is not the candy strawberries, like in Bon Vivant that give me a headache, but nice fresh ripe sliced ones in a dish. I do not, NOT like overly foody scents (Eat Me I am looking at you!), but I really like this. One bottle may not be enough. Oh! I have it! Okay here is what this feels like… It is a warm Spring day, you are sitting outside in fresh clean (not ozoney) air. You have a fine dark wooden unfinished bowl with fresh just ripe sliced strawberries sprinkled with just the right amount of granulated sugar. Oh, I amp rose in the worst way, and I get NO rose.

    Twenty-One

Twenty-One is juniper. Yup, juniper gin. I wanted to try a juniper scent, but for whatever reason it is not what I was expecting. I am glad that I have this imp, it will be perfect for the right occasion. But I don’t think I need a bottle. I do like it because it is so different from everything else I have.

    I Married a Vampire from Planet X

Vampire From Planet X isn’t too masculine, but I get a sweet bright musky leathery. No clove. No melon. It was sweet initially, and leathered up as it dried down. It is very nice… but it seems to almost be gone now. No! Vampire alien man! Come back! I will have to do a full wear and see if he sticks around a bit longer. Very nice leather scent.

Spirit of the Komachi Cherry Tree

Spirit of the Komachi Cherry Tree is very fresh and clean scent. At first it was very airfreshenerish on me, but the cherry blossoms warmed up on the dry down. It is a fresh crisp spring day in a bottle. Very nice! I can't wait until it warms up a bit outside to wear it! It seems to have great staying power for such a light scent. It is sooo much nicer after it dries down and warms up.

    Aquarius 2007

In the bottle: It is strangely familiar and at the same time unusual. Wet on skin: I get the airy scent of the wysteria. Something of a clean fresh smell. But over that comes a sweetness of sorts from the myrrh and the anise. I don't really get much pomegranate, unless it is a slight tart bitter element. Dry on skin: Same as wet, but it talks more. The scent overall isn't really warm, but it isn't cold either. It is a balance just right kind of feeling. I have never gotten so much from any of the other oils. Aquarius has alot to say. I am not sure how I feel about it yet. I like it, yes. But is it love? Undecided. Aquarius has the longest staying power of any of the BPALs that I have tried so far aside from Snake Oil.

    Black Annis

In the imp, it is dank musty cave with something nasty. Disturbing. Wet on skin, same as in imp. Makes my stomach a bit ill if I get too close. Dry on skin, okay it is better now. It reminds me of a warm foggy Northwest morning walking down the mossy path in my mothers garden with the anise plants in full bloom. So that is good. But there is still something sinister (maybe sinister and dead?) lurking about.

    Hony Mone

Hony Mone In the imp: jasmine and honeyed almonds with a foody quality. Yummy! Wet on skin: doughy jasmine and almond with a little honey lurking in the background. Dry on skin: the jasmine fades, and the almonds and honey come out to play. Nice mild honey scent, not as overpowering as O is on me. Very nice!

    Bon Vivant

Bon Vivant I received this as a frimp from the lab, but it was on my "to try" list. In the imp: sweet strawberry candy, yum! Wet on skin: Even sweeter strawberry candy with cheap champagne. Dry on skin: Sweet strawberry candies and cheap champagne. Too sweet for me, and I like sweet foody scents.

    Chimera

Chimera In the imp: sweet cinnamon Wet on skin: sweet cinnamon with an almost doughy quality, like snicker doodle cookies. Dry on skin: the sweetness mellows out a bit, still cinnamon and cookies. Very Yummy! I love this one, I purchased a bottle. Pairs well with Snake Oil.

    Tamora

I received Tamora as a frimp from Puddin with my BPTP order, I don't think I would have tried it otherwise. I can first smell the sweet heliotrope. I love heliotrope! I can smell the peach now too. As it dries down it is warm and fruity. It is sweet but not too sweet, and sophisticated. This is the first GC that I ordered a bottle of. Thank you Puddin!
