    Agrat-Bat-Mahlaht

Yum . . . caramel, honey, and apple blossom are the notes that are taking center stage with this one. Based on previous reviews, I was expecting it to smell more like O, but I got very little of that association, probably because the caramel leaves only a little room for the honey to peek through. I don't have Red Lantern, but I do have Misk Valley JV Baseball, and this definitely reminds me of that one, but it's much more sophisticated and sexy. I love this one!

    Dionysia

I'm in love with this one! It and Agrat are my favorites of the Ladies I ordered in this last CD update. When I ordered this one, I was worried about the patchouli, frankincense, and mahogany since I'm not usually drawn to those notes, but they decided to play nice with this blend and stay in the background on my skin. Instead, the fruit notes dominate, but not in a super-sweet way. Some other reviewers mentioned that Dionysia was too sweet on them, but don't let that scare you off completely if you like fruit notes. The other notes balanced the fruit on my skin, making it deep and rich. Dionysia is like a dark, overripe plum that bursts in your mouth. Decadent!

    Aeronwen

This is a sexy, deep scent! It definitely starts off as a green, herbal scent that reminds me a bit of the top notes in Dragon Moon 2008, but it quickly morphs into a darker scent where the notes of fig, myrrh, and amber dominate. I wasn't sure how the nutmeg and sweet orange would fit into this blend, but I didn't notice them at all actually. Like shriekingviolet mentioned, the amber and musk didn't turn powdery at all by the end of the day, and this has great throw and staying power. I really, really like it! If you like the notes in this one, it's definitely worth trying!

    Dragon Moon 2008

As others have mentioned, this is such a lovely amber, herbal scent. The dragon's blood actually remains pretty soft on my skin, and the lavender and sage dominate. I was worried that the cedar would be too strong for me, but I can barely tell that it's there; instead, I'm getting an overall feel of a green, woodsy scent that has a deep background to it. I thought that this would be a scent that makes me feel powerful, but, surprisingly, the herbal notes make me feel relaxed. I was taking a gamble on it, and I'm so glad I did! It's a wonderful scent!

    Bruised Violet Compound

This is a much darker, deeper violet than the violet notes in Violet Ray and Le Serpent Qui Danse. I think it's the other notes that give it that richer tone, and it really does feel . . . bruised! It feels dark and velvety . . . like crushed velvet violets. I was expecting this scent to be light and Violet Ray to be dark, but each one has the opposite feel to me of what I originally expected. I thought this would be a lighter, more summery scent, but it's very dark, sexy, and mysterious. I really, really like it!

    Boomslang

OMG -- this really is Chocolate Sex in a Bottle! It's thick and rich, and smells just heavenly on. As others have said, it really does have more of a baking cocoa powder scent to it than just regular dark chocolate, but it's divine. My husband even likes to wear it, since he's also a chocolate lover. If you like regular Snake Oil and any chocolate scents, you need a bottle of this!

    Slippery Poppy Tincture

Yes, this is definitely a lovely "red floral"! It's deep and rich, and the poppy and berry notes are strong; in fact, I can barely smell the honey in it. The acai berry notes almost remind me of a mix of lush raspberries, strawberries, and cherries, but without the sickly-sweet scent that berry notes can take. It has nice throw and wear length, too. A perfect summer scent! Edited to add: Wearing this reminds me of those lovely Marimekko (sp?) prints with the big, red poppies on the. It's a lush, strong fragrance!

    Le Serpent Qui Danse

Source: Frimp from the Lab On first applying, it's all violet, violet, violet! After dry down, the vanilla comes out more on my skin, but, sadly, I'm not picking up very much (if any) gardenia. This reminds me, too, of those violet pastille candies I used to buy as a kid, and it's a lush, gorgeous scent with nice thrown and staying power. I'm definitely going to be buying a bottle!

    Violet Ray

I'm not familiar with Faith, so I'm not sure how close VR is to it (as the previous reviewer mentioned), but I really do love Violet Ray. The violet is much more subtle than it is in something like Le Serpent Qui Danse, and my skin is not picking up on any mint. Instead, I'm getting a light floral scent, with notes of violet (which dominate), lilac, and musk. It's a much lighter scent than I imagined, and the ylang ylang and sandalwood are barely noticeable on me. After a few hours, this turns a bit soft and powdery, but in a lovely way. It also has nice throw to it, although it's a bit on the softer side. If you're on the fence about this one because you're worried that the "electric" nature of it might be too much for you but you like the other notes, then definitely get it. At this point, it's not one of my favorites, but I think it's a beautiful scent that is perfect for warmer weather and I'm glad I got it.
  10. Yes, this is definitely pure root beer! It reminds me of those little root beer barrel candies you get at Claim Jumper restaurants, but so much better! The vanilla gives it a nice undercurrent, along with some richness and depth. Yummy!

    MVJBA: Spring Training 2008

OMG! This is exactly what I was hoping it would be: caramel corn! The coffee smell is subtle on my skin, but the toffee really comes out. It's definitely less boozy than Misk U, and the buttery scent reminds me a bit of Midway, especially when I first put this on. Like some others have said, this is a dangerous scent because now I want to go eat some real caramel corn. If you like foody scents, you will LOVE this! Edited to add: I've been wearing this for a few days now, and it doesn't last very long on my skin, even when I slather it on. After about two hours, the scent has gone. It's definitely worth it, though, since it's a wonderful scent and I still love it!

    Megaera

Source: Frimp from the Lab This is an usual mix of citrus and plum, and the grapefruit reminds me a bit of Vampire Tears when I first put it on my skin. What makes this scent so unique, though, are the amber and bergamot, which lend Megaera a richness that lighter scents like VT lack. I really like this, but the throw and wear length are below average on me, so I probably won't get a bottle.

    Pontarlier

Source: Frimp from the Lab This is definitely an herbal, "green" scent, and the lilac is the note that dominates on my skin. It seems to have light throw and average wear length; I applied it four hours ago and am still catching faint whiffs of it. While I like this scent, there are other herbal scents that I prefer, so I don't think I'd order a bottle.

    Dorian

Source: Bottle from the Lab I bought this at Will Call last night for Mr. BookGirl, but he wasn't too keen on the scent, so I decided to keep it for me. It's just wonderful! In the bottle and on my skin, it smells like warm Earl Gray tea, mixed in with sugar and vanilla, and just the slightest hint of musk. I'm not getting too much lemon, which is nice since I'm not a big lemon fan. I was also expecting it to be a bit more foody, but it's really not too foody at all. (I like foody scents, but if you don't, you'll probably still like it since it's subtle.) It's got a soft throw to it, and nice wear length. I've had it on my wrists now for five hours (with just an average application since I always test new scents out with a light hand), and I'm still catching nice snatches of it as it drifts up to my nose. Lovely, lovely, lovely -- with some sexiness thrown in for good measure!

    Dirty

Source: Frimp from the Lab In a word: Clean! This is such a lovely, light scent, and it really does smell like fresh cotton sheets drying in the wind on a warm summer day. I can see how some people's noses might amp up a bit of Dirty's soapiness, but it feels very light to me and I really like it. I'm definitely going to be getting a big bottle of this soon! It's a perfect summer scent.

    Hellcat

Source: Frimp from the Lab I love all of the individual notes in this blend and thought that I would love it because of that. In the imp, it reminds me of marzipan, which I love. However, Hellcat ends up being a bit too foody even for me, and I usually love foody blends. The almond is delicious, but is a bit too sweet and cloying and becomes even more so after wearing it for awhile. Overall, it's a lovely scent, but it's a bit too sweet for me.

    Ouija

Source: Frimp from the Lab This really does match the description so well! It smells like pale roses in a wood-paneled room, with a light layer of dust covering everything. It's very atmospheric and haunting, but also very light. I really like it, but don't think that I would buy a full bottle since it's so soft on me and doesn't last for more than a few hours. I'll certainly get a lot of use out of my frimp, though!

    Baron Samedi

Source: Imp from the Lab Both in the imp and on my skin, the almond is more subtle than the rum, which is mixed with a nice smoky, incense scent. As it dries, the clove comes out more and more, but it's not too overpowering. It's a nice scent that I'm going to pass on to my hubby since it's a little too heavy for me, but I think that I like the rum in Port Royal better.

    Inferno

A great fiery scent, but the cinnamon also left welts on my skin where I applied it. It's a beautiful scent (and smells like Big Red gum, combined with almond oil), but if you have sensitive skin, then don't apply it to your skin. I'll use this either in my scent locket or in my oil burner.

    Marae

Both in the bottle and once on my skin, the orchid, Monoi tiare, and gardenia dominate and are truly lovely. I was hoping that the Monoi tiare scent would be stronger and a bit closer to Bath and Body Works' Tahiti Sweetie lotion, but it's softer and more subtle than that. As another reviewer mentioned, this has light throw and below-average wear length. It's definitely one to slather, and it's truly beautiful if you're looking for a light tropical scent. I really do love it, but am disappointed that it doesn't last longer on my skin. I've been putting it on since 7:00 this morning and it's 2:30 now, and I've already had to re-apply it three times, which I normally never have to do. Hopefully others will have better luck with the staying power!

    Tiki Queen

In the bottle, it's pure sweet candy goodness! Others have compared Tiki Queen to Sweet Tarts, and I definitely get that, but it softens down quite a bit once it's applied. On my skin, it warms up a bit, and the tuberose comes out more. The vanilla and coconut sadly stay hidden, but it's overall a gorgeous, lush scent! Love it!

    Tamora

Amber, heliotrope, golden sandalwood, peach blossom and vanilla bean. Source: Frimp from the TP As others have mentioned, this is a light scent that is perfect for spring or summer. My skin isn't picking up on the vanilla and amber as much as it usually does, so on me the peach and heliotrope stand out. The peach is a lovely, muted peach, and not too fruity/artificial or strong. I really like this one, but will probably not get a bottle since the throw is so light.

    Bliss

Source: Frimp from the lab This is a milky, creamy chocolate that, if you like foody scents, is pure heaven! Unlike The Candy Butcher, which is dark chocolate, this has the milk chocolate smell of Hershey's kisses or brownies. On my skin, it seems to have average throw and below average wear length; if I want it to last, I have to slather a bit on. It's yummy, and I'll eventually be getting a 5ml bottle!

    March Hare

Source: Imp from the Lab March Hare has the same scent in the imp as it does on my skin: warm apricot jam, with a hint of clove. It's juicy and luscious, and the clove is mild enough to just add a small bit of sharpness and richness to that juiciness. It also has nice throw, but it's one of those lighter scents that I have to re-apply. Overall, yummy!

    Port Royal

The Sodom of the New World! -- touted as the richest and wickedest city in all creation! Port Royal was the center of 17th century Caribbean commerce, a notorious safe harbor for pirates, and the site of our third flagship store, which was, sadly, destroyed in the earthquake of 1692. Spiced rum and ship’s wood mixed with the body-warmed trace of a prostitute’s perfume and a hint of salty sea air on the dry-down. Source: Fresh imp from the Lab On my skin, Port Royal is also more rummy and spicy than woodsy. It has nice throw and staying power, and the spiciness intensifies the longer it's on my skin. My husband hasn't tried this yet, but I'm going to give it to him since I think that it's a sexy, dark scent that would work well on him. Love it!
