  1. Just an idea.....

...maybe someone should start two new threads, one for "OMG I think mine has been lost!" and another for "Lots of thanks, I'm in scent heaven".

That way there are no emails building up or going astray and we all know BPAL people frequent the forum every few days...

I think people are using the "I got my order" thread to tell Beth/others when they've gotten their packages (it's in the randomness area)

  2. I guess my real issue is that I don't want to bug Beth unnecessarily and add to the stress of things going astray, but I also don't want to make the mistake of not saying anything, because then how will anyone at BPAL know that my package didn't make it? That's what happened with my order that's outstanding now ... I assumed that Beth et al were receiving confirmations of some sort, so I didn't report the package as missing until really late. In retrospect that was dumb of me, but agh.

    *sigh*

  3. Gah! I'm worried about my reship (to Canada) ... I have one order left outstanding, and I've been excited to see Kebechet's messages that orders have been cleared .... but IME, once an order has been shipped, it takes a very short time to arrive - my last reship was postmarked March 24th, and arrived on the 29th - and my order has not arrived.

I don't know what to think ... if I haven't heard, is it possible that it's gone missing again?? Has anyone else had this experience? I've never received e-mails that confirm shipping, so I don't have evidence that my order has been shipped, but on the other hand if Kebechet has posted that all orders to X date have been cleared ... shouldn't that mean it's on the way, even if I haven't received a notification?

:P I don't want to worry unnecessarily, but I would like to be able to tell Kebechet if the order has gone AWOL again. Is anyone else in this boat?

  4. Hi everyone, I am allergic to nuts (except almonds) and therefore have to avoid any of the blends that contain nut oils.

Maybe this query would be best as an e-mail to Elizabeth since it's regarding actual components used, but I thought that there must be others like me out there who have already bugged Beth with questions like this.

For example, Gluttony - pralines and hazelnut ... if this is actual hazelnut oil, I will be allergic to it. Does anyone know if it's actual hazelnut oil, or is it the genius of Beth that it smells like hazelnuts?

  5. Ai Caramba! I hope that would be a given - that if a parcel shows up twice, I would pay for it via paypal. LOL I was going to say, "will return it, or pay ..." but then I realized ... gah, RETURN it? When I could pay for it and have even more imps to play with?! :P

  6. I would pay for FedEx or some other type of secure shipping - maybe that could be an option when ordering? Or, an option for the US and mandatory for international?

I'm in Canada, and I've received three packages from the US recently (Feb and March) with no problems, regular mail. BUT ... obviously that may just be my selective good luck, since I have not received BPAL orders from the new year. Very sad but, I know, not anything to do with the Lab! :P

Gah. By the way ... is the "cupcake@blackphoenixalchemylab.com" address the one we should be using to get in touch with Elizabeth?

  7. No, I didn't, Cinder!

I'm thinking of giving some lilac oils to friends as a house-warming present, I wonder if that might be a bad idea? Or good idea, depending on whether they want to be spirit-friendly :P

  8. Q!

not sure why, but I didn't realize that your engine was capable of that ... that's awesome. cheers, lady!

Ok, so I have these, plus Bat's Blood ...

Bruja: Menacing, bewitching and darkly sexual. A blend of myrrh, amber and lilac.

Dragon's Eye: A piercing, radiant perfume: dragon's blood resin, lily of the valley, lilac and galbanum.

Veil: A quiet scent, soft, calm and enigmatic. A perfume of mystery, of whispers, and of secrets behind secrets. White sandalwood, lilac, gardenia, violet, orris, lavender and ylang ylang.

Whitechapel: A gentlemen's blend, possessed of dignity, charm and refinement, but in truth masking a corrupted, hideous, soulless core. White musk, lime, lilac and citron.

Spectre: A wispy, ethereal perfume with a touch of menace. Lilac, tuberose, Lily of the Valley, palmarosa, and white sandalwood.

Villain: A classic Victorian men's cologne: a lavender fougere, with hints of lilac, lime, and citrus musk.

Les Fleurs du Mal: The scents of the blossoms of darkness, condensed into one perfume. Features a rose base, softened with lilac and wisteria.

Nocturne: An olfactory serenede. A somber, contemplative scent -- dreamy and subdued. Deepest violet touched with lilac and tuberose.

Cordelia: The essence of faith, love and devotion: lilac, lemon, green tea, wisteria, osmanthus, white cedar, and Chinese musk.

Viola: Gentle tea rose, lilac, Calla Lily, and Somalian Rose layered over golden Peruvian amber, Spanish moss, red sandalwood, rosewood, and myrrh, with the lightest touch of Mandarin.

    Lilac (single note)

    ***********

I will also look in the Reviews section for comments on these, but if anyone has thoughts on these or others whose components might not be listed (e.g. tarot oils or voodoo blends) I'd appreciate it!

  9. H'lo Kebechet -

Not to speak for Q'spice, but I imagine this kind of thing to be second nature to her.

I use Microsoft Excel to keep track of things in table format. I know it's not the most sophisitcated way, but if you're not looking to do a lot of data manipulation then it's OK.

For instance, I would make headings at the top with name, date of birth, preferences - all of those things - then simply put all the info beneath (one line per person). That way, you could use the features of Excel to sort the data. For example, you could find all the Cancers in your customer base. Or, all the people who like Vanilla.

  10. Hi everyone, a friend of mine is going to a fancy dress ball. Not really *as* Elrond, but his costume is Elrond-inspired and the pix I've seen look awesome. He doesn't normally wear scent, but I think for this occasion maybe it would tweak his interest ... so any suggestions?

I have Nero and Shadow, both of those could work - maybe something piney or woody? I also have Golden Priapus, I wear that a lot myself. Some of the things he likes are coffee, pomegranates, figs, and strong flavours in food - like prosciutto and gorgonzola.

    Thanks for any help :P

ETA, for those of you who post at BUST, please don't "out" me - this is a surprise for coffeecat!

  11. I have a 5 mL bottle of this oil on order. The peach hits me first, bright and sweet, then dries down to a warm honey vanilla with a little bit of woodiness. It's a light, warm fragrance on me, but not in the sense of being "lightweight." The mood is bright and warm, I'm reminded of a place I visit sometimes during the hot summer months - the long grasses dry to a golden straw, and the heat causes the sweet scent of the grasses and wood to rise. *sigh*
