Hmmm...I'm finding not all aquatics are equal. My skin absolutely loves Amsterdam. It's not soapy just beautiful soft perfume. It just doesn't last real long on me and I want to find a stronger scent with that same kind of aquatic note. I've smelled salty aquatics (Lyonesse, Calico Jack and a few others) and don't think that salt water is for me. It's too briney and murky. So what are the freshwater aquatics, with lasting power and a floral bouquet like Amsterdam?
Oh! I just received Poisson D'Avril in a swap and while it's slightly less aquatic than Amsterdam it is a similarly styled scent. Yay! I guess I just answered my own question...
You might also take a look at the reviews for Danube -- it's a pretty freshwater floral on me, though I don't know how the strength compares to Amsterdam. Mag Mell is also on my list to try -- sounds like a tropical freshwater aquatic.
(Personally I prefer seaweed and saltwater, but that's just me...)

Okay, "EANACH DHÚIN" ...help??Pronunciations of Irish words can vary depending on the part of Ireland you're in, but I'd either pronounce it "Ee-nack Doon" or "Ee-nuck Doon". The second word is definitely "Doon", though.
Thanks!!

Reviving this thread because I am obsessed with beeswax lately. Engine 93 and Ichabod Crane are fab, any other new ones that fit the bill?My nose may be mixing up some other strong scent association, but I get a lovely beeswax smell from Pulcinella & Teresina (despite no mention of beeswax or honey in the notes). Anyone else get this?
I was intrigued by the beeswax in Hand of Glory, though it didn't ultimately work on me. It was a truly different combination.
And I love Hanerot Halalu too.
(Thanks for the No. 93 Engine recommendation -- I'll look for it!)
fizzy, sorta carbonated, sparkling blends?

Villain was fizzy on me; anyone else have that happen? It was one of my first imps, so I tried it a whole bunch of times trying to figure out why I smelled like a fizzy drink...
And ozone scents that work properly with my skin don't smell fizzy on me, either - they smell more like pure, smooth, electric air, where something has either just happened or is just about to happen. I wish I could describe it better! (They also don't usually develop the true ozone quality for at least 5-10 minutes on my skin; at first, then tend to smell citrussy or aquatic rather than actually like ozone).
