  1. ... An incense blend that invokes the higher qualities of mercy and compassion, mingled with the soft, sugared currant scent of offertory soul cakes.

So, this scent is my very first LE. I got it 'cause my birthday falls on All Souls Day . . . wasn't sure I'd like it, but I just had to try!

In the bottle: Eeep. I'm not sure exactly what I'm smelling, but the impression I get is essence of Hot Toddy. It's very very strong, and frankly I am a bit spooked.

Wet, on: The same scent wafts initially, but fades pretty quickly, to be replaced by a sharp currant scent, mixed with a slight rose note. Incense is peeking out.

Drying: Eeeeh! Roses (I must admit to a bit of rosephobia . . . )! But only if I sniff my wrist. All that's wafting is plump, juicy, warm currents! At this point I'm really starting to enjoy the scent . . .

Dry: Um, yum? I can smell the scary note from the bottle occasionally, only it's not scary anymore, it's sort of like brioche, all golden and buttered. I'm also still getting juicy currants :P ! It's all very grounded by perfect, soft, incense! It has a lot of depth, and is quite changeable.

Verdict: I love this. It's just beautiful.

  2. I love this scent as well . . . on me, the dominant note is the ambergris accord, which is probably primarily made up of amber and something musk-like. If you're looking to match it when it's dry I'd look for something with amber and citrus or citrus and musk. I do suspect it of having aldehydes or some other chemical kick, though, so you may not be able to match it perfectly.
