  1. Next indie potluck theme: I can't decide between Sparkle Motion (a Halloween concept, and very specifically all glitter and shimmer) or Autumn Leaves (all color, all autumnal shades). Is anyone more interested in one than the other?

As much as I love all things that sparkles, I'm leaning towards Autumn Leaves.

  2. This starts off dark, but then shortly after the apple comes shining through and it becomes brighter and sweet. That doesn't last too long and while it does stay fruity, there's a bit of spice to it. I wish I could discern anything besides that apple but it appears that that is the note that I amp (not that I'm complaining). I'm just happy that it doesn't go foody. If you want a fruity scent for fall, this would definitely fit that wish.

  3. Of the decants I got, this is the one I was worried about. And I was right - this one does not work for me.

On me, this is a spicy, soapy scent. It also doesn't really morph all that much from wet to dry. The soap does tone down a little and the frankincense becomes more pronounced, but I get nothing from the licorice.

  4. In the imp, it's a very strong blueberry candy scent (I can't remember what it reminds me of exactly).

It isn't overly sweet on my skin for too long with a clear blueberry scent shining through, but it goes through a short spice stage (I don't know if it's reacting to my current soap, which is Villainess' Trauma). After that, it becomes a faint sweet powdery scent.

Kind of disappointed and will keep testing, but I think I won't be getting a bottle.

  5. This is a very nice floral - doesn't go powdery or soapy on me which I think is thanks to the patchouli and spices.

It also reminds me of a favorite perfume of mine, Flowerbomb (notes: Sambac Jasmine, Centifolia Rose, Cattleya Orchid, Ballerina Freesia, Patchouli). So basically, I have found the perfect BPAL replica of that scent and it's cheaper. A win-win for me.

  6. This is a very herbal blend which I'm not always a big fan of but this isn't bad. There is a mint note somewhere but it seems more prominent in the imp than on the skin. For me, the most prominent note I'm smelling is a floral which to me seems to be geranium. I find it to be a bright scent which I think is caused by a citrus note.

Overall, not bad and I'll enjoy the imp I have but probably will not get a bottle.

  7. This is an interesting scent. It's also my firt BPAL scent with coconut in it.

The coconut is the major star in this - sweet but not cloying. The pear wants to come out but the coconut beats it down. After drying down some the carnation comes into play and brings a bit of spice into the mix, and a smidge of powder that goes away. The spice goes away and it becomes sweet again and then the spice comes back.

Overall, not a bad scent but one I don't usually go for because I'm not the biggest fan of coconut since it's usually too sweet. Not a bottle purchase for me but I'm glad I have an imp of it. A good spring/summer scent.

  8. Wet: I got tobacco mostly, as if a cigar was being smoked, masking the leather (though it was peeking out a little), and the woods give it a bit of spice to it.

Dry down: a little bit after it had completely dried, the tobacco was still predominate, and then out of nowhere SMOKE. It become incredibly smokey but died down eventually where the leather really came into it's own. The scent become slightly musky and sweet.

Not much throw but was at it's strongest when it was really smoky.

Overall, not a bad scent and I wouldn't mind getting my hands on a bottle.

  9. In the imp, it's a sweet scent, with what seems to be a hint of musk.

This scent changes very quickly on drydown. The florals quickly come out, but the strawberry adds sweetness to them. I would also say that there is a hint of spiceyness hidden in the background, lurking about.

This is a very interesting scent, but I'm not sure if it's really for me.

  10. On first sniff, it's sweet fruit, with some florals that give it a powdery finish.

As it dries down, there's more blending of the fruits and florals, and I can't really pick out one note over another. This is very well blended and the fruits and the florals really balance out. It's also a bit cool which I like.

After some more drying, it also tones down. It also becomes more of a sweet floral, but the fruits really help it from becoming overwhelming with flowers.

In the end, I think this would be fantastic as a body wash, but I don't think I would go for this as a perfume. A good spring or early summer scent.

  11. When I first put this on it was "hello, I'm SOAP" and from that I assumed that it had a rose note as pretty much all rose notes seem to go soapy on me.

After a while, though, the soap faded and the scent became herbal followed by a slight hint of mint.

Unfortunately the soap came back, but not as strong and I could actually smell the rose in it. The rose, herbs, and mint blended together (but you could point out each one) but had an overtone of soap with a touch of powder.

Sadly, this scent is not for me.

  12. I pulled this out of my pile of untried imps today. I have three other scents on as well (a lot of imp testing) so I may edit this when I wear this by itself.

But, from just trying it out in the crook of my elbow, I really like this scent. I sadly don't get much peach (that, or I'm unfamiliar with BPAL's peach), but I do musk. While it was drying it was much sweeter, almost reminiscent of lemon pez candy  I'm wondering if that comes from the bergamot; it does go away once dried. Once dry, it still retains its sweetness with a touch of powder (thankfully, not to much; I would be really sad if was really powdery).

It really is a lovely scent, and once my imp is gone I'll probably will get a full bottle.

  13. I'm trying to decide if I like it or not. Almost immediately the cherry is gone when it hits my skin :P However, a lovely sweet spicy scent takes it's place, like cinnamon. This fades quickly on me. I guess I would like it more if it didn't have such a distinct (in my mind) herbal scent in the background; it's strongest in the bottle, when it's just drying on my skin and the end. It isn't as strong when the spice is in control but there are hints of it.

  14. 2007 edition

Bottle: Very Sweet, can catch the fruit but no floral

Wet: When I first put it on, the sweetness carries over, but when I wasn't sniffing my wrist directly, I swear it smelt like bubble gum (up close, it didn't); thankfully, that fades away.

Dry: A floral blended with sugary sweetness. It kinda sorta of reminds me of Crypt Queen, but warmer, sweeter, and without the musk.

I'm really looking forward to how this one turns out after it has aged some.

  15. In the imp: Sweet, with something creamy and a slight whiff of alcohol

Wet: Sweet buttery cream, the alcohol becomes a little bit sharp, and a slight spicy scent begins to build

Dry: The spicy scent becomes really strong as it drys and morphs into smelling like potpourri that has lost most of its scent and now smells mostly like dry flowers and woods

Sadly, this one is not for me.

  16. I have tested this twice and have come to the conclusion that it doesn't work on me.

In the imp: Sweet (love it)

Wet: the sweetness fades really fast and becomes a very strong floral (nice but I'm not hundred percent sure I like).

Dry: The floral scent fades into a strong soapy scent which leads me to believe that this has rose in it because sadly, every bpal rose scent I've tried goes soapy on me.

This will probably go into swaps or I might save it to try it as a room scent.
