Huh. It's Blood Amber without the amber. The name is very literal. I expected a metallic tang, like the tast of blood, but it it actually sweet and warm, almost a bit fruity as well. It is ver pleasant.

Fresh out of the imp, this scent is a sharp citrus. It moves ever so slightly into the soapy range, like mimosa soap. The drydown warms up a bit, a spicy floral with a hint of lemon.
-
The rose, musk and incense are the dominant notes that come out of this blend on me. It is not really a "second skin" scent, as I had hoped. The dry down in a bit dusty.
-
This is more floral than I expected. Rather than chocolate, I get a faintly sour floral. It is warm, but more sharp and fruity than creamy.
-
This smelled like a humidor to me-mostly tobacco. It is a sweet tobacco, and the drydown is creamy and heady as the flowers peek out.
-
This had a strong cedar note on me at first. It mellowed out to a sort of dusty-spicy wood scent. Very earthy and sophisticated.
-
This was not very spicy on me. It was warm and woody. A bit tame for me, but a very comforting background scent.
-
I didn't get metallic from this one. On me it was ozone-citrus. I did wear it to a Japanese film festival and it felt very hip and appropriate.

I like the damp soil smell in the beginning. As it dries, is is sweetened with a gingery note. I think this is very nice for fall.

Bliss is like Velvet on me minus the sandalwood note that turned to pencil shavings on my skin. Whereas Velvet was just a little off on me, Bliss smells quite nice, and not even a foody as I'd exxpected. If you wanted to like Velvet but couldn't, try Bliss.

It reminds me of riding bikes on Block Island. Roses grow on the dunes there, and you can smell them on the salty breeze. That's what Penthus reminds me of.So for me, it's not a sad smell, but it reminds me of easy paced weekends spent walking the beach, riding bikes, and having wine on a porch overlooking the water.
This is what made me order Penthus, and this is exactly what I think of when i wear it. It reminds me a bit of Lightning, but while Lightning is a damp open field with a big sky, Penthus is a damp garden after a brisk rain. It actually doesn't make me sad at all, I find it very soothing.

I actually like this. At first I was expecting mint, so it took a moment to get past that, but now my impression is of sugared violets, maybe just out of the freezer. It's not freezing cold but it is cooling, and I get a distinct impression of the color blue from this scent.

This was warm, gorgeous honey on me, with just a hint of sweet orange blossom. It is warm and I really like it. I don't get rose at all.

I'm wearing my burlesque outfit, and will smell of Bordello.

I have been sniffing BPAL for a while. When I first started, I loved almost everything. Then it seemed like the bar was raised, and while I like most imps I get, I have become more picky and have not found a new love for a while.
Jazz Funeral has changed all that. It is fantastic.
At first, it is sort of muddy-citrusy, like Zombi with the rose replaced with sweetgrass. A green note hovers.
As it warms up, it begins to sweeten and the florals gently peek out.
The dry down is the best part. Green and blue, a uniquely orchestrated melody of blue and green. It ends up rather herbal, but almost aquatic and creamy to my nose. Fresh and warm.

Sudha Segara is ultra-relaxing
Follow Me Boy is comforting and makes you feel super sexy
Bliss is just like it sounds.
Shanghai is a bright spring day
Good luck!

Although Rose Cross is rosey, the frankincence deepens it and I quite like it for fall.

Hi, I'm the one that beat you to it!
It's OK, we can have more than one "help me with my Yule decision" thread!
Anyway, I have Bon Vivant, which has the champagne note. The champagne smelled like a crisp apple, honeyed slightly. Sweet, but the crispness was also a bubbly property. Hope that helps!

Lightning. Definitely Lightning.

Due to a bank error, I have a new debit card number and 2 outstanding BPAL orders. I emailed the Lab twice, but have gotten no response. I know that there have been recent events that prevented regular email correspondence, but my emails were weeks prior.
Has anyone ever needed to change payment info before something is shipped?
Help!

I think Galadriel is totally Szepasszony, and Lightning makes me think of Legolas.
-
Morgause = deep purple amethyst
Jezebel = warm amber
Midnight = Sapphire
Szepasszony = bright sparkling diamond
Just my impressions.

I got a lot of lilac from Nocturne, but it was soapy lilac, not fresh.

Nyx is like Old New Orleans with a little added sweetgrass.

Autumn wind with the sweet scent of sticky candy. It is nostalgic without being too sweet, though. The drydown is reminiscent of spiced pumpkin pie.
