Blinding Glory of Love

Recommended Posts

A potent and passionately exciting love oil. Rub onto your hands before meeting a potential mate. Brings out sexual desire as well as romantic inclinations in those you encounter. Use with caution as this blend brings out amorous reactions without discretion.

This was my first big bottle purchase, and I'm insanely pleased with it. I only ordered it five days ago, so I was shocked to find it in my mailbox that quickly.

Anyhow. I rubbed a bit onto my hands and sniffed. At first it has a light minty undertone to it, like crushing fresh mint leaves, and it also smells a bit rosy. Mostly though, this is a very warm and pleasant musk on me. Musk and light rose.

My sister-in-law walked past me after I had first put this on, and she stopped and sniffed me. She told me that my new perfume was completely amazing and that it actually gave her goosebumps. Everyone in my house seemed to be gravitating towards me and were acting a lot nicer than usual. I hope that this isn't bringing out any amorous reactions in my family members, but they do seem to be more loving towards me than is usual.

I cannot wait to wear this around my boy. I do not see him again until Monday night after he works and goes to his night class... and he has already warned me that he will be too tired to 'fool around with me'... so I'm going to wear this and see if I can get him to change his mind :D

I will update after my Monday night trial.

ETA "after my Monday night trial"

Second time that I wore this, I got the mint again for the first few minutes and then the drydown smelled of musk, rose, and grape juice.

The boy came over Monday night, as planned, and was exhausted and completely out of it thanks to his allergies (which I am also having a bad time with myself). When he came in the door, he was complaining about how his eyes were red and watering, and he didn't even really hug me. Lame. So I remembered to put on some Blinding Glory of Love... I'm not sure if it has anything to do with the perfume or the amazing backrub that I gave him afterwards, but he became very playful, romantic, and joked around with me a lot. We had a very good night, allergy problems and all. :P Edited by Shollin

My first TAL order arrived yesterday. And right after, the boyfriend who is not my boyfriend asked me to come have dinner with him. So I decided that would be a good time to try Blinding Glory of Love. When I sniffed it in the bottle, it reminded me alot of Smut. Within after a few minutes of putting it on, it still smeleld like Smut only a bit lighter. It had a bit of a powdery tone to it, but not a bad powdery. If that makes any sense...

I got to the boy's house and the first thing I said to him (as always) was "smell me!" He's so patient with my BPAL addiction. So he sniffed me and said "You smell like baby powder but without the baby part. I like that!" So then we went to dinner. Where he was far more affectionate than usual. Tucking my hair behind my ear or brushing it off of my shoulder, feeding me with his chopsticks... When we got back to his house he had some studying to do. I laid down on the couch to watch TV. I got cold though so I got up and put one of his long sleeved button up shirts on over my halter top. I laid back down and eventually I dozed off. I woke up to him tucking a blanket around me. Then he kissed my forehead, said "go back to sleep" and went back to his desk. Awwwww....

When I woke up he took a study break and came and sat with me. We flipped through TV channels and he was still being very sweet and staying close to me. This is a guy who is usually sort of affectionate but not overly so. And when I was leaving, he walked me to my car (usually he only walks me to the door) and he kissed me goodbye FOUR times. And at one point he had his face in my neck just breathing in and said "you smell so good!". And when I drove away, he was still standing on the sidewalk watching me.

I think I'm impressed with Blinding Glory. We're having lunch today so I think I'll wear it again with maybe a bit of Sexual Energy added to it. *grins*

I'm reviewing this before testing it's efficacy because I'm so impressed with the smell -- and I'd better write that down before the review turns into a Penthouse letter. At any rate I only plan on wearing this around the mate, just in case.

It smells very minty in the imp (I got a decant) -- very minty. I like mint, and people tend to be attracted to it, so that's a good thing. On my hands, it smells a lot like Spellbound. A lot! And the color of the oil suggests red musk, one of my favorite notes of all.

I'd say that red musk, rose and peppermint are probably all ingredients in this -- definitely very much like a minty Spellbound. That, in my experience, has been a scent that men like. I always got a lot of comments when I wore it, or anything with red musk in it really. So I can definitely see this as being an oil that could draw people in and excite them.

I'm not close enough to the boy for him to smell it yet but like I said, I just wanted to get my first impressions down. I am going to be very careful not to wear it outside of the house!

Scent: Huh... this is one of the few rose-based scents I can wear! There's a minty note that dies down pretty quickly on my skin, and something that I was interpreting as amber, but looks to be red musk, from the other reviews... um, I'm just going to stick my fingers in my ears and shout "LA LA LA LA LA CAN'T HEAR YOU" to that, because if I know there's red musk in a blend, my nose will inevitably start smelling that dirty peanut butter smell. :D

Anyway, I wore it out to my local pub (wow, that sounds like a brilliant idea, no?), and one of my guy friends said I smelled like "really good incense."

Effectiveness: Well, yes, I did end up bringing one of the usual suspects home (every single girl should have usual suspects!). Not sure how much of that had to do with BGofL, as he's a fairly frequent chew-toy... that just means I need to do more research on this blend! :P

I get roses and mint too. And some kind of musk as well, something that makes it warm up on my skin. As soon as I opened my decant of it, I immediately thought "this smells...opulent." Those exact words. It brings to mind a dark Kama Sutra-esque bedroom flickering with candlelight, a room with dark shimmering fabric on the walls and saris draped across the bed. The room's filled with the faint smell of people loving each other and faded incensey smoke, all wrapped up in the scent of some kind of rose-flavored dessert the lovers were feeding each other by hand, and maybe a drop or two of the flavored tobacco they'll be smoking together afterwards.

I swear, that's what I get for being a Desi girl! Always brings things like this to mind.

It does seem to bring out a nice reaction in my boytoy. He generally dislikes any BPAL that isn't "fresh", but cuddled right up to me while I was wearing this. I take that as a good sign, since he's notoriously anti-cuddling.

Actually, I have gotten different smells off of this each time I wear it. It has dried to a slightly less cloyingly sweet-boozy floral version of Smut once and the last time I wore it, I swore it was minty roses which dried down to smut with a smudge of rose and a whole lotta sugar. As for the effects, I haven't noticed husband getting more amorous than usual the last couple times I've worn it, but I HAVE noticed that at work it seems to make people more attentive to things I say (but not in a love or lusty sort of way, more of what I might expect from a very very dilute effect as purported for "Bend Over").

Interesting. It seems that the voodoo dieties seem to know better what I actually need at the time and utilize the powers of the blend toward those needs. All the effects from this oil have been along the similar line of attentiveness and good vibes. Hmmm... :P

Since this is a TAL blend I won't be reviewing for scent - I'll just say that I enjoy it. On me it's herbal, bright sharp greens with an undertone of rose.

As far as use goes - this was my second attempt at one of TAL's "love blends" (the first attempt, Caliph's Beloved, found me learning I was allergic to cinnamon - joy!). It was for use with Very Special Boy (who we shall call VBS henceforth). VBS and I were going to be at the same party, so I prepared a ritual for said party and, well...

I should have been more specific. There was a lot of chaos at the party ("Hi, I'm oedipa, serving Eros/Chaos for a year and a day, and I'll be your party fodder!") and so things didn't go perhaps quite as I'd planned...but I can definitely vouch for its continued effectiveness. As the description mentions, however, I'd exercise caution when using this around more than your intended. I'm partial to chaos, but you might not be. :P

Blinding Glory of Love - This oil opens up with the scent of juicy red musk and a touch of mint and rose. As it dries down, the mint disappears quickly and the rose backs off to become almost indiscernible. Soon, I notice a strong grape scent coming out stronger and stronger, completely overpowering the mint until this smells entirely of red musk and grape. It’s a gorgeous scent, but even more importantly, it works! My husband isn't the cuddly/snuggly type at all. I came home from work with a little bit of this oil on me, and he couldn't stop snuggling with me. I felt so incredibly loved the way he's wrap his arms around me and draw me in and tell me he loved me, and then just hold me. It's exactly what I needed right now. Because he rarely does cuddly/snuggly things like that, I find it hard to believe it's a coincidence.

I didn't want to write a review of the scent of Blinding Glory of Love before I could give an accurate assessment of its efficacy, but because the aroma is so, well, glorious, I thought it deserved a jumping-of-the-gun.

On me it smells like a minty, slightly herbal Snake Oil, which is mind-blowing. It is, in fact, the scent that I expected out of Snake Oil but didn't get (instead I got lovely, but a little too much, sweetness.) The mint dries out pretty soon and you're left with a more potent, more musky Snake Oil. I'm serious! It's a powerful scent with a powerful throw; I can imagine why this is an enticement blend. Because I am unattached right now, I can't prove its effects since I haven't lasso'd a gent in the past two times I've used BGoL, but I have noticed more coy looks coming my direction. (The young men at my school are notoriously aloof and the object of much competition -- 70%/30% Female/Male ratio, so this oil would be gangbusters if it could beat those odds in two days.)

When I get more conclusive results after using BGoL more often, I'll edit this review. But for the time being, I have to rave about the scent: It is beyond fantastic, and though this is a bit taboo, if the oil ends up doing nothing magickal for me, I may just try and increase my chances all the more and purchase it for cautious cosmetic wear.

Edit: I'm not entirely sure this was the cause of the TAL oil, but after doing a few candle rituals and rubbing the stuff on my hands, an old lover has come back to call, and with overwhelmingly romantic intentions.

I'm on a roll, reviewing TAL love blends just on scent alone, though I mean to come back and add more after I've tested them out.

in the imp: Damn! some sharpish herby scent like mint and something floral too. wierd!

On, yup, that’s mint. A sharp menthol mint, like straightup peppermint picked from the garden and crushed. So sharp it makes my nose tingle. Reminds me of the top note in The Fool, which I think is pennyroyal. I just smelled them together, and yes, its the same, but I don’t know if it is pennyroyal or some other type of mint (I keep thinking of that note as pennyroyal, but since that is a rather hazardous essential oil, perhaps it is not pennyroyal). After the mint calms down it gets a bit better, a bit softer. At first I thought I got a slightly fruity scent, but I kept sniffing and realized it was something else, something very familiar. Finally it dawned on me: It is rose, but a nice, wearable rose. This is probably the only rose I can wear.

I get no musk at all, or at least not red musk, which on me is very animalistic.

I’ll keep the imp but I’m not crazy about it. Whether I like the scent or not may seem irrelevent, but in the love/attraction blends I think the scent IS important because if I don't like the scent, I'll either not wear it or feel self-conscious wearing it (ie. in Dixie Love Perfume which is just too strong for me).

Anyway, I plan to try out its efficacy in the next couple of days so will report back on that soon.

I bought an imp of this from a forumite to try out. I wore it last night and was impressed with the attention I got. I'm not sure how much of it was the oil but I'm giving it a lot of credit.

Setting: A Society for Creative Anachronism (medieval re-creation) camping event. I camped (shared a tent and a bed) with a very good platonic male friend. The relationship has been on the verge of becoming more for a long time but neither of us is ready for that.

Reaction: I received a lot of attention from several men...many of whom have always kept a very careful distance between us. One example is a very a happily married man that I flirt with all the time (his wife is cool with it and laughs). I was strolling from campfire to campfire with my married friend and the friend I was camping with. In the middle of the path, my married friend decides to show me just how intimate ballroom dancing can be using the rhumba as an example. I had another old friend hurry past...then come back and give me a big hug. Another guy who I have been lusting after but recently acquired a new girlfriend came over three times to give me a hug. Now, the guy I was camping with kept telling me how "alluring" I smelled. There were several other random things...like men I didn't know coming up and striking random (and sometimes wierd) conversations...I think I was hit on by a guy wearing a monk's habit!

So, I will definitely put this in the effective category...and try it out again next weekend! I'll be camping by myself and have the possibility of bringing someone "home" if I wish so it will be a better test.

Now, the only reason I hesitate to give all the credit to the oil is because I've lost a significant amount of weight (almost 100lbs) and part of the reaction could have been to that and the fact that I was wearing a dress that actually fit for the first time a decade! But, I've seen most of these men during the time I was losing weight so it wasn't like a big surprise...the random strangers was a bit of a surprise ~grin~

Blinding Glory of Love is gorgeous stuff! I know I'm not supposed to, but I'm gonna wear this as perfume. A minty, herbal red musk? It's like one of my dream fragrances. I layered Blinding Glory of Love with Smut today, and the drydown was almost indistinguishable from it. I know my skin amps musk like crazy so that's probably why, but for me that's a good thing. I love that boozy red musk in Smut, and it blends seamlessly with the red musk note in Blinding Glory of Love.

I can smell the rosy note in the bottle, but it doesn't amp on my skin. My skin holds onto the minty herbal and musk notes, for a long time too. I just dabbed a tiny bit behind my ears and I could smell it strongly on my pillowcase the next morning. Mmmmm.

It works, too - not indiscriminately, thank goodness, but quite well with my spouse. :D That was lovely. I am extremely happy. :P

A lovely, effective blend. I foresee many bottles of this in my future. :D

In the imp: hmm! Mint and rose and a sort of red-musky note. I like!

On me, wet: yup, mint and musk and a trace of rose.

On me, dry: peppermint and musk! It has a boozey herbal tinge to it, also, I think, and up close a really strong note of ... something that remnds me of an empty bottle of mineral water. Weird.

Verdict: Well, the SO *likes* it, but he's pretty affectionate anyway - I can't tell if this is boosting that or not. I guess I'll hang onto the imp for now.

this one smelled just like smut to me, minus one component. i definitely get red musk, but it is difficult to pick out any other notes. i really love it though, actually a bit more than smut. it's very warm and sexy. i tried a friends' imp and havent been able to actually test it out myself, but hopefully i'll be able to soon.

Egads, Beth wasn't kidding when she said to use this one with caution! :D

I wore this out to my favorite club two Sundays in a row now, and I have been floored. Sure, people flirt a lot and all, and since I know a lot of the regulars there, have a ton of friends there, and like to dance, people talk to me quite a bit.

But christ.

I literally had some guy (umm, this is embarrassing :P ) bowing down to me and showering me with compliments, as I was surrounded on all sides by other guys... and the thing is too... it really seems to mean it about the 'amourous reactions without discretion' because not only was I getting hit on by straight guys and a few bi-chicks (it is an alternative club), but totally straight chicks (wtf?) and also a completely gay guy (seriously- I have friends who know him- completely gay) who literally would not leave me alone (he kept touching me all over and saying 'Don't worry- I'm gay) until they escorted him out... (again, wtf?) Not to mention a woman who would-not-take-no for an answer until someone stepped in...

And I must say- when I put this on and my BF is around, it is like a light goes on and he starts sniffing. Seriously.... I'm not going to go into any more detail, but... ummm this stuff really seems to work.

Use with caution folks... :D

ETA: Oh yeah... and it smells like musky mint and something a bit floral and off smelling... I'm not a huge fan of the scent, but that doesn't seem to matter...

The minute I saw people mentioning red musk I knew I had to try this on immediately. It smells divine--that musk just jumps out at you and there's definitely rose there, and something herb-y/minty. It's not unlike Spellbound from the GC, actually. Good good stuff.

As for the effects--some things are private! :P

Scent: It's a dead-ringer for Spellbound from the GC. This is good as I loved Spellbound.

Efficacy: Take this with the necessary sodium chloride...

Being the shy type, the "amorous reactions without discretion" part concerned me so I decided to try focusing the oil. The night before I wore it I held the imp in my hands and focused on the Object of my Desire (Cutie I just met at my new job.) and how much I like him, plus a little affirmation that came to mind. When I felt the oil was sufficiently "charged" I put it away and went to bed.

Just before I went in to work the next day I anointed the heels of my hands and for good measure my heart chakra. I repeated my little chant once as I did so. I was delighted to see that Object of my Desire and I had been assigned to work together for the day! Long story short: We talked (and flirted!) almost non-stop through the entire shift, discovering in the process we have a great deal in common. There was lots of unnecessary touching and we went to lunch together to boot. A week later it hadn't let up, even though I misplaced my BGoL imp for three days and was making due with La Flamme. He comes to see me on his break and we've even talked about how, yes, we're very attracted to each other. ♥!

So, I would say Blinding Glory of Love works, in as much as it "... brings out sexual desire as well as romantic inclinations..." No significant change in how other people react to me, so I figure the charging did it's job.

This certainly worked for me. I've attracted more suitors than I've known what to do with when I've worn this to social occasions. Even the straight women seem compelled to nuzzle my neck. And it does smell delicious - a minty, rosy red musk, sexy and energetic.

This is just a scent review until I go do stuff with boys... but just let me say this scent is AMAZING. I get pure minty rose with very little musk. It's intriguing and very feminine. I think I may have to wear it as an actual perfume... :P

I'll update later on it's efficacy. =P

smell: the mint smell hits me as I open the bottle, yummy! It dies down when I wear it to a spicy/musky smell with just a hint of mint to add a greeny element. It's lovely and smells like most of the other bpals i wear.

effect: when I first tested it I had it over other oils so can't judge. I am wearing it now while waiting for OH to come home, so will update later :P

overall: so far, i love it purely for the smell.

UPDATE: Best not to test this when OH comes home with flu! So I waited until it had cleared up. I put it on in the morning, and nothing by the evening. We were going out so I sprayed on a different perfume. When we finally got to bed I was a little bit dissapointed. But as we were drifting off to sleep he came close to me twice, kissing my face and saying some really sweet things, and we had only been drinking water :D Lovely!

Blinding Glory of Love is very sickly, sticky sweet. There's a note that's, hmmm, off? Maybe jasmine combined with red musk. It's not something that I would find attractive, but yet, this stuff is really effective. It didn't work every time I used it--though I think that'd be true of any oil--but I definitely noticed people looking at me, well, lustfully. I hadn't expected it to be quite so potent--it really does work without discretion.

Blinding Glory of Love had a really interesting scent. Throughout the night it kept morphing between sweet candy-fruit and sweet yet light mint/herbally notes. It lasted very well, through a whole evening of food and hand washing, lotion applications, eating, etc etc.

I don't know if I wasn't ballsy enough to make the purpose work out with the individual I wore it for, or what. I seemed to get some nice looks from other guys wandering around, and the special guy did sort of lean in during the movie, but nothing really happened more than that. I didn't push it either, and was hoping this would give him the push needed... I guess I will have to sit back and see what happens if tonight could have been a catalyst. My fingers are crossed.

Blinding Glory of Love is by far my favorite TAL for two reasons:

1. It smells amazing to me: musky and minty, sexy but eccentric. Mysterious, tantalizing. I really can't explain how my nose wants to follow this scent.

2. If used as instructed: it works. I've used it both in ritual and just on my person, but when I had opportunity to use it exactly as instructed, I definitely got the results I intended.

I don't really know what compelled me to pick this up. But I did and it is mine and it is... not incorrect. Like reviewers above, I've worn it strictly as a personal fragrance. Only did that once and it backfired magnificently--the guy a friend was trying to set me up with (this didn't dawn on me until halfway through the evening) was totally besotted with another mutual friend of ours.

I've since used it for its ritual purpose and it definitely gets me more attention. It has resulted in me gettin' some (and helped to provide closure to a weird sort of lingering relationship I've been hesitant to deal with for the last six months), in having every man I met at an event remember my name throughout the night despite not being able to place my best friend or any of the other guests and in the crankiest, angriest, gayest man I know declaring that "After we had that conversation, for the first time in 20 years I felt a little heterosexual" (he might have just been impressed with all my mad skillz when it comes to discussing Jack the Ripper). But use it as intended and I am swimming in more dude attention than I know what to do with. It's kind of a raging fire versus a slow burn thing. It doesn't sustain attention for long and, you know, it's kind of a bad idea to make other people like you by your own means. It's definitely an attention grabber, so use cautiously.

From a fragrance perspective I get red musk, rose and a strong mint. Possibly two mints. I think there be a wee bit of pennyroyal here and thankfully it's not repulsive like it usually is on my skin. There may be a straight up peppermint here as well. It has a really long drydown and I much prefer it after the mint dies down a bit. For pure scent purposes it reminds me of a minty Spellbound. Quite lovely.

Huh. I wore this out last night - rubbed it on my wrists, my neck, and my fingers. I forgot that it's supposed simply to be rubbed on your hands. I went out to a club with three friends from work, and I ended up being propositioned for sex, kissing all of them, making out with one of them, and ended up going to bed (for cuddles and sleep, not sex) with all of them. Also one of them - the boy - told me that he really liked me, which is nice to hear although I think I'm probably gayer than I am straight and I don't quite think I'm interested in dating him, although he is admittedly super awesome.

I forgot about the oil until we got home and one of them told me that I smelled like incense. So yeah. This made for an interesting evening, and while we've been moving towards this perhaps - I've been hanging out a lot lately with these co-workers - this was by far the most close (and sexual) we've been together.

Interesting.

ETA (4/22): Wore this again last night - went out drinking with the same people and a few other co-workers. I wore this solely on my hands this time, and when I applied people in my group noticed the scent of the oil. Reactions were uniformly positive. There was cuddling, kissing, and I ended up going home with a girl whom I like and who is generally awesome person. So far, Blinding Glory of Love is living up to it's claims.
