doomsday_disco Report post Posted August 31 Sugar-dusted Honiton lace and vanilla moire stained at the hem with black tea and tonka, translucent orange blossoms veined like dragonfly wings pressed to the bodice, and a splatter of coppery, clove-tinged blood on the pearl-dotted sleeves. wilhelmscream Report post Posted September 17 In the bottle: A gleefully evil vanilla tea. Dark, musky vanilla and tea-stained fabric and lace, a bit of an acrid tang from the orange blossom. It's almost like a mix of Banshee Beat, Antique Lace and Thorns Clove Cigarette, which are three of my favorite BPAL perfumes, so this is perfect for me. Can't wait for the movie! This is such a fun collaboration for us.
VioletChaos Report post Posted September 30 In the bottle, I get wisps of clove, splashes of cold, black tea and murmurings of tonka. Once applied, I start getting some bits of powdery myrrh, which is peculiar since it's not so much as hinted in the note description. 🤷♀️ It's not bad, just...unexpected. It takes a little while to warm and settle into my skin but the wait is worth it, as the other notes come out to play in greater and lesser degrees: the sugared lace fanning out like a revealed petticoat this way, a flutter of orange blossom that way, the spiced clove staying the course, the black tea a sinister, persistent shadow falling over the joy of the party. In a word: Exquisite.
