I usually get them for my daugher so I have an excuse to hug and squeeze them too. Would you like to receive e-books? And if so, in what format? Baked Goods? Yea Nay? Yes please! If not Baked goods and you are changing eating habits..a book of recipes perhaps that will help the new eating lifestyle? I really prefer my recipes online (allrecipes.com is my favorite) so I can change quantities, print them out, get them dirty, etc. Or view them on my ipad while I'm cooking! I'd love Meilin's e-books for crockpot recipes and garlic and other things! Here's a question If you were to make an order RIGHT NOW (Not that any of you will make any bpal orders until SW is over, because you do NOT want to mess up any plans your witch might have!) What would you order (from lab, forum, DD, TradingPost, etc) I would probably order Lemon Scented Sticky Bat or some of the BPTP Courtesans. And Spanked. And anything that I haven't ordered yet, like the new LE bath oils and room spray. Do you like cooking seasonings, like the kind you can get in ounces sizes? If so, things you'd love to try out? I'm pretty set on seasonings right now but maybe some really interesting ones would be fun? I always see all of the different colored/variety salts and speciality things but don't purchase them. Do you like any particular kinds of green or back teas or coffees that could also be gotten in bulk? I usually prefer black tea. My favorite right now is an anise black tea that my friend sent me from Germany!! I'm sure it could be purchased in a larger size (mine is 2oz?) but I'm not sure where from. I usually buy my teas in smallish quantities from the yummy local tea stores. Favorite snack foods (and can they be from bulk section as well?) Lately my fav snack foods are the fruit/nut mix from Costco. Except I pick out the walnuts because I really don't like them! But the dogs do. I also do a lot of cheese (cotswald, sage darby, or something else tasty in the snobby cheese section), crostini, and sliced sausagey things. Or chips and mango peach salsa. Or ... another thing the BF brought home -- Cadbury's Mini Eggs!! OM NOM NOM. And beef jerky. And the crunchy green beans from Trader Joes. What level of nudity are you fine with on items? It depends on the item I guess! I have no room for artwork yet, but when I do I will probably be getting BDSM themed artwork for the bedroom. In which case nudity is perfect. I know the ?aire asked about gently used books and if you like garage sales, but would you like other kinds of gently used items that may have come from a garage sale? I fine with gently used items of almost everything. Underwear or socks? No thanks! Would you rather have HUGE list of things your witchee wants to try or just a highlight list? Everything. The more you have on your list, the more likely it is that I will have it! Tim Tams? Yum! The black forest ones were spectacular and so were the toffee ones. The chocolate creme ones I'm iffy about. I have a ton of patterns for various amigurumi on my ravelry and Loopy Ewe wish lists. Pirates vs Ninjas vs Zombies - who wins? Which do you love most? I love pirates the most. They should smell the best too, like the sea and sky, wood, leather... (I expect my pirates to bathe regularly and not drink too much rum.) Do you like wearing things in your hair? If so, what kind (snap clips, scrunchie, headband, etc), how big & crazy (lowkey, bigger the better), and colors. I have mostly shaved hair but I do wear a plastic toothy headband to keep my bangs out of my eyes at work and I have some barettes/clips on my etsy favs. I would love to have more dreadfalls -- need a big wide cloth headband and some goggles to go with them. I have some black and white yarn dreadfalls but they are really heavy and don't stay on well. colors? black, purple... Piercings? - ears?? - elsewhere? I had five holes in my ears (two in the lobes on each side and one up at the top) but I took them all out except one in each lobe. They're probably healed by now - I might need to get them repierced. I'd kind of like to get my nipples done (again) but then I think about how they never would heal. Oh! And my tongue is pierced. I keep forgetting about it since I don't really notice it. Are you more a plain chocolate lover, a chocolate and normal items lover (normal items being nuts, fruit, caramel) or do you like weird stuff in your chocolate? I LOVE the Vosges Naga bar and the Dolfin Hot Masala -- CURRY! Love the Dolfin green tea jasmine. Don't really enjoy chili in my chocolate so much. I do like fruit and nut bars, caramel, lavender, rose, etc. Would love to try the Vosges italian truffles with the balsamic vinegar and olive oil, etc. I'm pretty snobby about my chocolate except for the Cadbury's Mini Eggs for easter. OM NOM NOM. For those who like lipgloss, lipstick, tinted balms, etc, what colors do you wear (and warm? cool?) and do you prefer something sheer or more opaque? How do you feel about shimmer? I don't really wear a lot of tint or gloss, mostly just lip balm. Shimmer is ok! It's all about consistency for me... I don't like a balm to be sticky (gloss) or too slick. I do like the Lip Venom even though it's on the sticky glossy side. One of my favorite balms lately is Bunny Butt Apothocary (I get mine through the Soap Box Company.) I have been lusting over getting more from Better Botanicals for a while; they used to carry them at our local co-op but I can't find them anywhere (except online) now. What's your favorite animal? Or is there one that's particularly significant to you? I don't have just one! Ravens, bats, Friesians, pit bull type dogs, ferrets... DVDs, Blu-Ray, both, neither? Eventually I'll upgrade to Blu-Ray so I've started collecting them already. Copied CD's or DVD's? Arrrrrr!! I'm going to Disneyland in a couple of weeks, is there anything I can get you? *drools and makes grabby hands at NMBC items!! (Nightmare before Christmas!)* Sock Dreams? What kind? (anklets, footies, etc.?) yes! no footies, plz. I would kind of like some sock garters for thigh highs since my bpal socks tend to slip down. Y'know, the kind that go around at the top of the sock, not a garter belt. I like stripey socks but I like my socks to be a little on the thick side since I wear a lot of converse, docs, and unisex fluevogs. I don't wear very many girly shoes so thin socks tend to get holes immediately. I also prefer natural fibers to acrylics (I don't mind having a little nylon for stretch, but I prefer socks to be 70-80% natural fiber.) Since this is a price capped round, would you rather get one "big" thing or lots of "little" things or don't care? I prefer quality over quantity (especially for things like candles, chocolates, yarn, etc.) but I believe you can find a lot of small reasonably priced things that are high quality. So I'll leave it up to my Witch! I'm hoping to do a lot of smaller yet high quality things for my Witchee because I think it's fun to get lots of little packages. But you know, it's also (for me at least) about the contact and knowing someone is getting to know you and paying attention to you. What? Attention hoar?? Sometimes I don't feel chatty back but I like being poked, even if it's just saying hi. Postcards and e-mail don't cost that much! Do you like pirate-related things? But of course! I love going to Archie McPhee and getting a ton of pirate-y things. I have the lunch box, apron, bath curtain, bath mat, garbage can, pirate devil duckies, mints, air fresheners, etc. Soaps? Be specific: if there are BPAL soaps you want to try or are dying for more of, tell all here! Also, any other companies people like or love? Villainess, maybe? Or Lush? What flavors??? I will admit that I would like to try the Snake Oil soap, as well as the one I can't pronounce.. Otherwise my soap coffers, as it were, are overflowing with bar soap. I make bar soap myself so I usually have a good supply on hand. (HA HA) I'm even totally good on shower gel. I would, however, love to have more scrubs, both oily sugar/salt and cleansing ones, like smacks. I love the Arcana scrubs, Villainess scrubs and smacks, Paintbox Soapworks Sorbettos (I have quite a few on my etsy list!), etc. What periods of art do you love most? Like, if someone was going to get you a tapestry or a box or some other item, what period would you want it to most resonate with? the pinks and golds of Rococo? the clean geometry of Art Deco? The romanticism of Art Nouveux? The strange lines of Cubism? I was always the science geek, not the art geek. So sorry, I am not into periods and don't have any interest in knowing art by period or genre or whatever. I know what I like when I see it and I like a LARGE variety of things. But I'm pretty consistent with my likes and I think I've already stated them enough times and given examples of some pieces I like, pointed people to my etsy favs, etc. I tend to like things with hues of silver, grey, black, blue, purple, dark green, dark red/wine/burgundy, bluish pinks, etc. I am not a fan of *anything* that is mostly copper/bronze/gold/yellow/orange/brown or pastels. This goes for jewelry, clothes, yarn, art, cars, mugs, boxes, tapestries, etc. -- really it's pretty universal. Would you like caffeinated lollipops? No thanks! I actually mostly stopped drinking coffee and only do a couple of mugs of tea a day. I don't really want to jack up my caffiene levels. Would you want an invite to a site that is invite-only ex. Diaspora, Demonoid, etc. If so, what? No idea what those are. But if you think I'll like them, sure. Pillows? What size/designs/colors would most interest you? I use a lot of "lap pillows" to rest my ipad/books/laptop/whatever on, and I usually have a pillow between my knees when I'm curled up on the couch. Plus the dogs and boyfriend are always stealing my pillows. So... large to cover the lap and firm to hold up things. Black, purple, silver are the ones that interest me most. It might be easier to look at what kind of pillows are available at places like Michaels or Joanns and then send a pillow case to fit such a beast, though. I don't think the pillows themselves are usually very expensive. I have pillows with Ravens and such on my etsy wish list. purses? bags? What style/colors? I really like Namaste knitting bags in Eggplant or Black. But they're pretty spendy. Decorative scarves for hair and/or creative accessorizing? What colors? No thanks, I'm a knitter, my friends are knitters, my family has knitters. Some have looms and do woven scarves. So I get a LOT of hand knit and hand woven scarves as gifts and I have a TON. Plus I'm more into shawlettes (smaller shawlettes worn as scarves) right now and I'm super picky about my yarn (yes, I am a yarn snob.) I guess this is a push button topic for me because people just don't get it and I keep getting store bought mass produced scarves (not hand made) as gifts. While I appreciate that someone thought of me and wanted to get me a gift, this is not it. Please! (The only exception would be really nice silk scarves that someone hand dyed for me or the HUGE scarves/stoles that are mostly black with purple, blue, or red celtic knot motifs that people sell at Renn faires or farmer's markets.) Of course if you really wanted to send me a hand knitted or hand woven scarf, those I would gladly accept. But I could probably use hand knitted socks or wrist warmers more. Anything hand made or dyed is accepted with glee. Would you like anything from Starring Fragrances. They make awesome hair stuff, natural deoderant, and home fragrance (and a ton of other stuff, those are just my favs)? If you love them and you think I would love them, I am open to trying whatever! With the exception of natural deoderant, that stuff never works for me. Do you like poetry? I'm picky. What types of scents do you like to scent your home? Which do you totally avoid? The boyflame hates foody scents and cinnamon type scents (I weep!) but plain vanilla seems to be ok. Even though I have a ton of the BPTP room sprays I don't use them a lot except on pillows and clothes; I don't want my dogs to have to smell them all the time and hurt their noses. What kind of geeky things do I do? I play computer games... I've been playing Ultima Online for 11 years+ now? I love old dos computer games (infocoms, sierra, the ultima series, etc.) I downloaded monkey island 1&2 on my ipad and finished the first one while my boyfriend was away for the weekend. I knit! That seems less geeky and more mainstream these days though. I still call BBSes (well, now we telnet to them!) I haven't scripted for a while but I *can*. I would like to get more into camera geekery (my dad is the hugest camera geek on the planet and is always giving me his cast offs but I don't know much about them and haven't really taken the time to learn.) I organize all of my books, cds, perfume, etc. and document it all on spreadsheets, scentbase, librarything, etc. Did I mention that I'm Aspergers? I think that is probably the definition of geek. I used to go to all of the Sci Fi conventions but that dropped off because I moved away to Texas, then Colorado, and just kind of got out of the habit. Plus getting older = less energy & more responsibilities. sigh. I don't read comics anymore.. I did read a lot of them growing up. I love graphic novels though. I think I don't like reading comics because they are too short and my attention span is much much much longer. Same reason I don't like to watch TV (except on dvd/netflix/on demand) - I don't like being interupted with commercials. I'm not "obsessed" with anything geeky (am I??), for TV right now we are watching Dexter (streaming on netflix, again for me on S1/S2, first time for the boyflame), just finished watching all of Lost on Netflix streaming. Started to watch Dead Like Me but the bf didn't like it. I have all of Twin Peaks on dvd and most of Red Dwarf (up to S5?) and have been watching Red Dwarf streaming from Netflix at work since the BF doesn't like british humor (WTF?) When True Blood comes back on I'll have to watch that every time a new episode is out. oh!! And I'm very excited about A Game of Thrones coming to HBO next month!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I love those books. I want a Game of Thrones "Winter is Coming" girly babydoll with the raven!! I saw some on the HBO Store website. I have worked in a geeky field as tech support or unix system admin since 1991 or so. I used to play RPG's... D&D starting in 4th grade (that was before it was AD&D ), Cyberpunk, Shadowrun, Call of Cthulhu, Paranoia, Paladium, etc. I met people when I lived in Toronto because I (1) called bbses and (2) played RPGs. Being a hot girl didn't hurt!! Some of my characters are used as NPC's in some Cyberpunk games and many of my Torontonian friends are listed as test players in the GURPS cyberpunk (I was as sick as a dog for many months and couldn't test with them.) Played Vampire: The Masquerade when it first came out and was part of the Seattle Camarilla originally but that didn't last too long because I couldn't stand most of the other people. I gave all of my game manuals to my son who is in college now and running many campaigns. He has tried a few of his campaigns out on me and Pixiepetal (my friend Lisa, she has an account here on bpal.org but doesn't read or post much.) I do love geeky toys, I have a talking Tick doll, many Sandman & NMBC dolls & figurines, etc. I just don't have a lot of ROOM for things like that right now, so most of them are packed up in storage. Anything with the Worm Moon update that you're already lusting after? Everything of course. I'll know more after Will Call tonight. If your Witch lived near you, would you be happy or creeped out to get a "coupon" for a service like cleaning help or babysitting or dogwalking or coffee out with your Witch or something like that? Would you be creeped out if a local minion personally delivered a package to your house from a far-away Witch? No, I wouldn't be creeped out. I'm usually one of the local minions delivering things!! However I do have a lot of depression and anxiety, so I'm not always "up" for going out and being social. Household/kitchen goods/gadgets? I could use another Swissgold Tea Filter. Anything I want is under my "Cooking" wishlist on Amazon. Ninja cookie cutters.. Skull & Crossbone egg/pancake mold... skeleton hand condiment set.. bone spreaders.. skull cupcake pans.. all edges brownie & lasagna pans.. ingenuiTEA tea maker, electric kettle, just to name a few. I can always use measuring cups and spoons. Do you have a favorite fabric? If someone were to make you a fabric item, would you prefer it be out of any fabric? Silk and velvet are definitely favorites. Really high thread count cotton for pillow cases. It depends on the item?? However, if it were yarn-y, my favorite would be MCN (merino cashmere nylon) for non-socks, and merino with a little nylon for socks. or Merino-silk blends. Or heck, merino silk cashmere blends. Let's say I have a pair of something you collect, would you like one of them and we have matching things? That would be super sweet! When I was younger the "best friend" matching rings/necklaces/whatever always intrigued me but I was a loner and didn't have a best friend to share such a thing with. Favorite type of wine is ice wine and tawney port (I think I already answered this somewhere.) With mead being my favorite really, although it's mead - not wine. Close enough!! I have tried to get more into wine and will work with my wine snob friends and do pairings with dinner or with fruit/cheese/bread/chocolate and I tend to like those, but I really just don't drink very often. I wish I could have more wine with "dinner" but since I work graveyard I can't have anything with dinner (breakfast?) and I don't feel like drinking a glass of wine when I get home at 8am. So I have it on special occasions. I have some lovely huckleberry mead that I've been saving. For staples I usually get Chaucers Mead, Warre's Warrior Special Reserve Port, Graham's "Six Grapes" Port, etc. mostly because these are plentiful and inexpensive. I can't remember which ice wines I buy, I would recognize the bottle. I usually buy from Costco or from the grocery store because, again, inexpensive. When I visit my friends in Portland who run Cocoa Velvet, I usually go along to the wine tastings that they participate in - they do pairings with their chocolate. The farmer's market has a booth with delightful spiced blackberry wine that I adore. I'd be up for trying something new, especially a new dessert wine. Easter Candy - do you like it? If so, what types? I love the Vosges chocolate bunnehs (especially Naga but I haven't looked to see if they have that flavor this year, I can just get the candy bar after all.) Cadbury mini eggs!!! Starburst jelly beans. What scent(s) are you petrified of getting DC'd? Snake Oil! O. Most of my favs are LE anyway (sigh.) Usually the GC's I love are for more than just scent: Baku, GRR, Bitch, TAL's, etc. so it would be really bad if any of those were to disappear.

The percentage chance of being anything but a starving peasant is just too low. However! If I were forced to choose a place and time... (For example, in BPTP and Jinx.com shirts, I'm almost always an XL. For skirts I'm in the size 16-18 range at the moment. I don't usually wear unisex clothes b/c I'm far too curvy, and some styles of women's clothes also don't really work (hence one of the reasons I basically never wear pants except for pajama pants). Stretchy is good, shape is good. Anything that's basically just a rectangle won't work; anything that assumes I'm a B-cup or don't have hips also won't work, anything top that's too long is iffy (I'm rather short and have a relatively short torso -- the longer length tees tend to look strange on me). (For example, I love some of the shirt designs on Threadless, but have sadly discovered I can't wear their women's tees at all because they're too square and not stretchy enough for my body shape.) I live in a part of Texas, where winter is like a mythical creature. I'd much prefer to be cold than to be warm, but I don't get to be cold very often here. So thick scarves and gloves would get almost no use (sometimes I go to Minnesota for the winter holidays, but even then the really thick ones are not my preferred style). Thin ones, especially if made out of super-soft, non-scratchy material, I might get more use out of, and would probably just enjoy more. I also like knee-high (or higher) socks to wear with my skirts sometimes, though, if those count as soft things, and also shawls. I know those are a bit of a commitment to hand-knit, though. Girlieness: The definition of girly is kind of confusing sometimes. I guess I'm more girly than some, with the skirt-wearing and long hair and affection for baths and all, but I don't really think of myself as girly. I like dark colors! I am too lazy to primp! So I don't know. Addedum: I don't wear heels unless they are super well-balanced and sturdy; overall I much prefer flats. I don't really like the color pink in most cases. I like some shiny, sparkly thing, but honestly I tend to prefer things to be pretty and elegant or in-your-face -- for example, I prefer most of my punk/goth stuff without the sparkles. Also, I am a huge book and gamer geek, though honestly I know plenty of book and gamer geeks who are pretty girly, much more than I am, so. Yeah. All a bit confusing because people have such different ideas of what it means. For example, when I say I don't primp, I mean sometimes I leave the house without having brushed my hair and sometimes I forget to use even basic lip balm to make my lips less cracked, much less anything like lip gloss or other actual cosmetics. Even for special occasions I don't usually do much more than brush my hair and put on lip gloss, and that's only if I remember, which I usually don't. I'm not much into feeling guilty about the things I enjoy. The few reality shows I watch, perhaps (Project Runway, So You Think You Can Dance, Dancing with the Stars). I watch a ton of scripted TV, too. I guess of those, True Blood would be the closest a guilty pleasure? But mostly, I am proud to claim the shows I watch! If you cosplay or need a costume for your bellydance/burlesque hobby (or any other hobby which needs dressup/different from your normal wear), is there anything you need/want for it? The only thing I'm currently doing along these lines in goth clubbing (and that not as often as I'd like, either); anything along those lines would be adored. Especially almonds and peanuts (honey-roasted, spicy, just plain, etc), but I like mixed nuts, too. Fruit! So many different kinds of fruit. Personally, I would love getting something similar to one of my favorites, even if it is not the same - what say all of you? How picky are you? Generally I'm in favor of things that are similar but not necessarily exactly the same. Do you wear make up? Hardly ever, but I do wear lip gloss occasionally, and I experiment with lipstick, lip liner, lip stains, etc every once in a while. I wear blush very occasionally, too, and bronzer might be good for shading, and powder for controlling shine (my skin is East Asian, medium-tan-ish, warm undertone, combination). Eyeshadow and eyeliner, I like, but almost never wear (and yet I covet it!); mascara I basically don't wear, as it interferes with my glasses. Disney movies, Yay or Nay, and favourites if you do like them? I like them, in general. Beauty and the Beast is probably my favorite, though I do like Lady and the Tramp and the Robin Hood with the foxes a lot, too. DVD, BluRay, VHS: I don't have a VHS player; DVD or BluRay are both fine. What is something you use to comfort yourself when feeling yucky, depressed, or in pain? Music (listening to it, or singing), tea, chocolate (sometimes hot chocolate), bath w/ salts/bubbles/bath bombs/bath oils/scents/etc, re-reading my favorite books or stories, going out to one of my favorite restaurants for a comfort meal, watching (or re-watching) a movie I know I'll like, sometimes going somewhere pretty and sitting with a book... A massage if I can get one. Oh, and I also have a gel eye mask that feels pretty good and can help with headaches; ice packs or cool cloths help sometimes, too, or sitting near a fan, because I overheat so easily. And ginger ale or mint tea sometimes helps with stomachaches, while very localized heat sometimes helps with cramps. Plus, BPAL's Baku scent can relax my whole body if I'm feeling too tense or wound up. Socks? I wear socks very rarely. When I do, I prefer knee-high socks (in dark, gothy colors), though I'd be interested in trying thigh-high ones, also (stretchy ones in both cases, because I have fairly wide calves and thighs, and thinner is generally better than thicker). I do wear regular black socks with my Docs, as well, but they're boring and black for a reason, and are almost completely obscured by the boots. I guess I might wear fun socks with my Docs as long as the colors and themes are dark & gothy? Mostly I wear sandals, though, the curse of living in an overly warm climate. ETA: Oh! I do have one sock-related desire: I once had a pair of super super soft lightweight crochet lace tights (in black of course) that I adored until they developed a hole in the toe; I would love something like that, either as tights or perhaps as knee highs or thigh highs. I'm not really into scary movies or horror movies or whatnot (I had a terribly active imagination when younger and so tons of things scared me; I'm better able to deal with such things now but still don't tend to specifically seek it out), though I do like some supernatural sorts of things. Movies along those lines that I really like: Nightmare Before Christmas (if it counts?) and Zombieland on the more lighthearted side, 28 Days Later and Let the Right One In on the more serious side. I do read them, though I'm bad about keeping up properly. I've read all of Sandman and all of Strangers in Paradise, those are probably my two favorites. I like Runaways (the Marvel comic), but I'm behind, and I'm interested in some DC characters/groups/storylines (Batman and the rest of the Batfamily (I have a soft spot for Robins and former Robins, and The Long Halloween is amazing), Birds of Prey, Secret Six, Teen Titans and Young Justice, etc, but it's hard to know how to really get into it just because canon's so huge. I loved Kingdom Come. I've read a little of Fables and a little of Y the Last Man and enjoyed them both and will probably continue at some point, just haven't gotten around to it yet. I don't think I need copies of those two, though, I'm pretty sure I can borrow from friends. Other comics I've really liked: Blue Monday, Hopeless Savages, JtHM, Charm School, Global Frequency, The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, Umbrella Academy, Castle Waiting; I liked Promethea for a while but lost track of it, I liked the part of Preacher I read but got bogged down about 2/3 of the way through while following it, and though I own the rest I still haven't read it. I also like manga, though I'm bad at keeping up with that, too -- I loved Here Is Greenwood and Nausicaa of the Valley of Wind, Saiyuki and Inuyasha I own a bunch of and really adore but aren't all the way through yet, I read the first volume of Fruits Basket and enjoyed it (and wouldn't mind more of that), and I've been meaning to get into Black Butler -- I saw some of the anime and now want to see more of that and also read the manga. Bears. My last name means bear in Chinese, so I feel especially close to them, and I appreciate the somewhat complex/contradictory symbolism attached to them -- intuition, strength, protection. I also had a Lilith pendant for awhile that really spoke to me, and I'm fairly fond of the tree of life. Oops! Squick: I LOVE Halloween, but please do not be sending me any fake (or real) spiders. There /will/ be a freakout, and it will not be pretty. Decoration: I tend more towards the cute. Please nothing that makes noise when you pass by. Celebrity crush: Hah, this could take a while. I'm really disappointed I couldn't go to Dragon*Con and get my picture taken with Ben Browder and Michael Shanks (or as I called them, Hot Man Sandwich) or James Marsters. Nathan Fillion is probably the only crush I might have a chance of randomly walking by, as he is from the same city as the husband is from. I've got some girlcrushes too, but am having a hard time tearing myself away from the Hot Men of SciFi so will update later when I'm not being a dirty old lech. Ceramics: An oil warmer would be nice. Mortar/Pestle: I have one, but it's not used frequently. Widescreen/formatted?: Widescreen, but uh.. I'm going to go with no movie DVDs, as the husband has a HUGE collection (the bookcase is approximately 6 feet long and 4ish feet high (4 shelves) and it's completely packed). TV shows like Burn Notice, Leverage, Carnivale, Deadwood, True Blood and the like are less likely to be on the shelf. Smallville I think he has, and possibly Supernatural, too. LOST is definitely there. It's hard to remember! Snack food: I have an awesome recipe for granola with stuff I keep meaning to share here, and I mix my own trail mix with stuff I pick up from the farmers market. I've also been known to eat the dried fruit before it ever gets to the mixing bowl. Bit more ketchup to add to the mix! Would you like icons? Yes. It can be for either a favorite perfume or name-based, or whatever other ideas my future Witch might have. Etsy similarities? Sure. Wishlist is there as a guideline to show you how my tastes run. Certainly not exact. Disney? I still would love a copy of the original Fantasia. And some of the older Disney movies like Sleeping Beauty, Snow White, and .. wait, I have Sword and the Stone already. Amazon wishlist: a work in progress: Wishlist baked goods: Always welcomed in my house although my kids and DH are biggest cookie monster than myself. Just one note and this is on my questionnaire, one of my kids is allergic to peanuts so as much as I love PB cookies, it is a no go. Gifts for the fam: That would be a nice gesture but not necessary. My kids are spoiled enough by grandparents and are too little to really get it. And DH is a picky guy and frankly he doesn't care that much about it. Testers of lots of little stuff vs. "big" items I love samples! Because then if I hate something, it is not alot of product wasted, and if I love it, I can gp buy myself some more! Is there anything you have a phobia of, or that would make you go "squick" if you saw it in a package? um rats, particularly dead ones, vermin in general, big huge spiders. Obvious plastic things are okay but nothing too realistic. When you go to an etsy wishlist, it will tell you what things are sold. If you click on the sold item, sometimes it will give options that are similar to what was sold, but not identical, would you like the similar item or prefer not to get it at all unless it's the same item? How picky are you? Something similar is more than fine. I always think of a wishlist or registry as more of a guideline of my tastes. I had a really hard time explaining this to my guests for my wedding. Similar is okay, the list is just to give you an idea and if you find something completely different and think "She would totally love that!", that's cool too! Do you wear makeup: Yes I do and I'm always willing to experiment with new products. Although I am one of those rare people who can take cigarettes or leave them, my hubby is most definitely not. And he has asthma. So I have banned tobacco products from the house. To answer my own question, I have a deep and profound addiction to lip balm, as I fight a near-constant battle against chapped lips, especially in winter. I tend to like balms more than glosses (and by "gloss," I'm specifically talking about the kind that come in a tube with a little stick inside and applicator on the end), because I find the latter tend to feel sticky to me. I love the flavored kind. Do you like guessing who your witch is, or would you prefer to know? Do you mind knowing? I never manage to guess correctly. I'm perfectly fine with not knowing until the end (tho I like a reveal so I can say thank you), but don't mind knowing before either. The Hardness Scale by Joyce Peseroff Diamonds are forever so I gave you quartz which is #7 on the hardness scale and it's hard enough to get to know anybody these days if only to scratch the surface and quartz will scratch six other mineral surfaces: it will scratch glass it will scratch gold it will even scratch your eyes out one morning -- you can't be too careful. Diamonds are industrial so I bought a ring of topaz which is #8 on the hardness scale I wear it on my right hand, the way it was supposed to be, right? No tears and fewer regrets for reasons as smooth and clear as glass. Topaz will scratch glass, it will scratch your quartz, and all your radio crystals. You'll have to be silent the rest of your days not to mention your nights. Not to mention the night you ran away very drunk very very drunk and you tried to cross the border but couldn't make it across the lake. Stirring up geysers with the oars you drove the red canoe in circles, tried to pole it out but your left hand didn't know what the right hand was doing. You fell asleep and let everyone know it when you woke up. In a gin-soaked morning (hair of the dog) you went hunting for geese, shot three lake trout in violation of the game laws, told me to clean them and that my eyes were bright as sapphires which is #9 on the hardness scale. A sapphire will cut a pearl it will cut stainless steel it will cut vinyl and mylar and will probably cut a record this fall to be released on an obscure label known only to aficionados. I will buy a copy. I may buy you a copy depending on how your tastes have changed. I will buy copies for my friends we'll get a new needle, a diamond needle, which is #10 on the hardness scale and will cut anything. It will cut wood and mortar, plaster and iron, it will cut the sapphires in my eyes and I will bleed blind as 4 a.m. in the subways when even degenerates are dreaming, blind as the time you shot up the room with a new hunting rifle blind drunk as you were. You were #11 on the hardness scale later that night apologetic as you worked your way up slowly from the knees and you worked your way down from the open-throated blouse. i got witched! i've known who my witch is for about a week, we've had some nice notes back and forth. she sent me her big packeage of goodies last week, then sent me on a treasure hunt to find her identity... yewberry! thank you so much for making my first switch with round so fun! anyway, she told me she had one more little thing to send along and it should be here around this weekend. and it was. a bottle of the snow storm, a decant of l'autunno & a sample of happy housewife's revel. i love the snow storm, love it. i was down to my last bottle and a little bummed that it did not return for this yule season. but now, thanks to you, i have another whole bottle to tide me over. and i've always wanted to try l'autunno, i do love the apple scents. and i'm always curious to try other companies scents and see what i think. thank you so much once again for spoiling me way more than i could have ever expected.

i just got a fun nacho witch package from sheyona! with the flurry of fun & sweetness crowding my inbox alongside the encouragement to "watch the mail" i decided to dash down to the unibox after the mailman had left. it probably took longer than it should have because i ended up taking photos of leaves and puddles and all sorts of other autumn things. but when i arrived, there was only one thing for me, a box! i skipped back home and decided to open it on the kitchen floor. (i don't know why, i think it was the proximity to the scissors needed to cut the tape.) there was a nice little note from sheyona telling me that two of the "kitschy gifts" were form the original saturday market (the candles i'm guessing?) and the other was done by her. it's kinda hard to tell from the photo but the candles are beverages. one is a coke-glass filled with a "cola" candle (complete with ice cube) and the other is a mug of hot cocoa. then there is an awesome handmade tarot card of the hermit (my favorite card). and two tea samples for my sipping pleasure. this is so awesome for so many reasons: just this morning i was re-arranging my candle cluster in the bedroom and deciding i should probably refresh my candle supply. these fabulously kitschy items will be a welcome addition! they are just so wonderfully odd, they'll fit right in with all my other strange candle stuff. the hermit is destined to become my special bookmark. just because it's so darn awesome. and the tea... well, it's already halfway consumed. it's nice and cold today and perfect for hot tea. to my witch and my nacho witch: thank you both so much for giving my something so fun to smile about!

huzzah! i was witched! an interesting thing to note: this is the second time my witch has had something mailed to me and both times my package has arrived the same day as a bpal order... interesting... i think my witch and her helpers have a spooky power... anyway... my postal carrier had both of my packages scanned and waiting for me by the time i had walked down the hill to the mailboxes. i spent the whole mad dash back up to my apartment trying to feel through the wrapping to guess what was inside. okay, i'll confess. i squeed a little when i saw the pouch. i have this wonderful weakness for pouches and treasures hidden inside pouches. and dots? it never even occurred to me to check and see if they were vegan. in my brief checking so far, they appear to be! they are almost too cute to eat, little ghost dots. anyway, i had to see what was in the pouch. i'd been patient for, what, five minutes? agapē! one of my favorites! and full! i took a good, long sniff and sighed with happiness... thank you so much! but then i wondered: my witch must have had someone send this to me. but there was no note... so i went back to the package and sure enough, there was a business card with a note on the back. seems that schackjj was my witch's helper this time! so i'm off to huff agapē some more and ponder who my witch could be...

oh wow! i got witched! my witch must have heard the crazed squeeing, the frantic sprint i did back to my house, the shrieks of delight... but, as this is my very first igi post, i want to do the thing properly, so this will be as detailed as i can make it. so let me set the scene: i was waiting for the post since i knew that both my bpal order and my bindi would be here today. so i was keeping an extra-vigilant outlook. suddenly, there he was. so i skipped down to the mailbox to get my packages. i told him i had two and he quickly produced two packages with the bpal orange tape. i was so confused, but said: "well there should be one more, kinda small." yep, he retrieved my bindi and while i was turning to walk back, it hit me: i'd been witched! now normally i would have been tearing into my bpal order at the speed of light but no, i had to know what was in this mystery box so cleverly disguised as a bpal order! my hands were shaking with so much excitement i confess it took far longer than it should have to get the tape off. yes, i was that giddy. kids at christmas have nothing on me. so the very first thing i spotted was this: my heart was instantly warm. a note and some autumny leaves made me feel so warm and loved. i did not immediately read it, i had to arrange everything contained in the box: wow. vintage mystery books? like the ones i read when i was little? oh my god witch, you are awesome, you have no idea how much i love these kinds of books. cute pencils? another fave i forgot to even mention on my questionnaire! and imps/decants galore. some are imps of my favoritest gc scents, others are ones i've not yet tried like pickled imp (can't wait to try this one) and PUMPKIN QUEEN! so i finally opened the note, though with some difficulty because, well, i was still pretty excited and i also have a cat who decided to "help": the note indicated that the books were from tartchef and the imps/decants were from my witch. but who i ask, who were the pencils from? witch (and tartchef), you made my day. no week. this was totally surprising and so uplifting. this day started out a bit meh, but now... i can't remember the last time i've had such a sudden positive change of mood! thankyouthankyouthankyouthankyouthankyou!

I am extremely picky about musicals, and would say that in general, I'm not a big fan. However, there are some I dearly love. Love Sweeney Todd, for example. I just saw Repo! The Genetic opera, and am completely in love with it. Got it on Blu-ray from Netflix and the hubby and I have watched it four times in the past week. I'd love to have my own copy. I would also like to see Wicked (which I think is a musical? not sure, but I enjoyed the book). Do you mind receiving partials, imps, full bottles, sniffies of oils from BPAL and other companies? Um.... no. I definitely do not mind that. Not one teeny, tiny little bit. What styles of jewelry do you like? Bold and funky? Delicate and dainty? Short necklaces, long ones, chokers? Bracelets or anklets? For necklaces, I like more delicate and dainty things, or something cool on a cord, like those pretty glass pieces with the glittery swirls and such. I like chokers and short things (around 16 inches or so). I would kind of like to try mixing it up with some long necklaces of the pretty, dainty variety. I'm not crazy about sort of mid-length necklaces, though. I have gauged ears (00g), as well as regular ear piercings, and like plugs in natural materials like polished wood, stones, bone, etc. I do like bracelets and anklets, of varying kinds. I currently have a leather cuff with a Celtic knotwork design that a wear a lot, and I love it. Wouldn't mind having more similar things. Have you read anything by China Mieville, Neil Gaiman or Charles de Lint? If so, what? Like/dislike...?? other than books/cds/dvds are there any "things" that you collect or symbols which you have an affinity for? If you were buying or making a witch gift for yourself, what would YOU buy/make? Book stuff: I love love love love love Neil Gaiman, and anything Gaiman related. I have Sandman posters, action figures, watches, a set of postcards and a clock. I have a cute little Neil Rat resin figure by Lisa Snellings, and two Gaiman lockets, and am gradually working my way through trying all the BPAL Gaiman scents.
