    Almond Blossoms

This smells exactly the way you expect it to when looking at the notes, and it’s a lovely blend of all almond all the time. (None of that cherry scent I sometimes get from almond, either.) It’s creamy more so than nutty. I wish it lasted longer on the skin, and I’m gonna try it in a scent locket next.

    Honey Babka

Surprisingly light given the description, but that might be my own weirdness: I am completely nose-blind to this when sniffing from the decant. On my skin, it’s a light honey blend. No real staying power.

    Syrnyk

I’ve only tried this on my skin so far, and it quickly turns to that salty peanut note I so often get from cream-like scents. BUT I HAVE MY FINGERS CROSSED that this will stay true in a scent locket, because the scent itself is the beautifully creamy lemon vanilla dessert scent I have been searching for.

    Chasing Fireflies

I got a lot of plum at first sniff, but then this turned into a pinkish aquatic. I like it, but a decant is enough.

    Phallus Acrobatics

Wet on my skin, I can smell every note and this is glorious and lord I want it all. But then it starts to dry, and it’s only dusty vanilla. It broke my heart.

    Triumphant Vulva

I was worried about amber—because, like… AMBER—but this is really well-grounded. Chewy lotus, a hint of rose when I really look for it, but otherwise a warm skin scent that manages to read as an all-weather mix. Beautifully blended. Might need a whole bottle.

    The Secret Meaning Behind Flowers

Except for a hit of wet coconut when I apply, I’m completely nose-blind to this one. There’s a whiff of mint (WTF MINT?!) on my skin for a moment afterward, then nothing.
  8. I’ve been on a mission for “lemon meringue” scented stuff for years. Waaaaaaay back in the day, B&BW carried a line called Tutti Dolci and on a whim I bought a moisturizing cream body wash in their Lemon Meringue scent. As these things often happen, I fell in love, and then the line was unceremoniously discontinued. I found it on eBay several years back and gladly handed over all my doubloons for it. But where are all the modern lemon pie scents?! Amor… kinda comes close. It sits close to my skin so it takes a good slather, but I do get that dessert-y kind of lemon. The hint of flowers here is nice, too, so I don’t just SMELL LIKE PIE OMG ASDKFGURG. I will likely upgrade my decant to a bottle. Or two.

    A Humorous Jest

Wet, I get that blueberry, but as soon as this dries on my skin it’s hellOOOOooo gardenia. Nice, because I do love gardenia, but not all I wanted. Then strangely, a few hours in, the gardenia settles and blueberry comes back! And it brings coconut and a slight note of bitter citrus with it. Brava!

    The Seesaw

Strawberry and patchouli root with pink pepper, white rum absolute, and benzoin. In the imp, this is juicy strawberry with a hint of earthiness and booze. I got super excited when I opened the decant. Then it hits my skin, and immediately the patchouli takes over and that's all there is, folks. I'll try it in a scent locket, but as of now I'm bummed. ETA: About 10 minutes into wear time, there's a hint of rooty strawberry that has reemerged, and that's nice, but overall this stays too head shop-like for my usual tastes.

Strawberries, Red Musk, and May Rose

I am in love with this. At first it is very much WHOA STRAWBERRIES, not in a candy way but like warm, fresh berries from the field. I get a hint of floral and green, I think? Which in my mind comes from strawberry vine and bloom but in reality could be the rose. Usually I amp rose (and I love it) but this does NOT smell like “a rose blend” to me at all. And of course there in the back is that awesome red musk. I’ve just recently discovered how much I love it, and in this ménage I can say with confidence it is the same type of red musk as in Eldritch Dark. While this does not smell “like” ED (sorry to break hearts) they are clearly kissing cousins with similar components, almost like the Lab took the “red” elements out of ED and put them here. Glad I blind-bottles this one. ♥️

    Sugar Cookie Peacock Queen

So delightfully weird. My brain knows that these two scents really shouldn’t go together, but oh man, do they ever! It’s the same cookie dough-type scent I get from Sugar Cookie Snake Oil, more brown sugar vanillic than white or crystal sugar, and it lies right next to those beautiful red buds with a hint of green from the Peacock Queen herself. The cookie note lasts longer than the rose, as expected. As a side note, sometimes PQ makes me super sneezy. None of that noticed here!

    Sugar Cookie Snake Oil

This isn’t a sugar cookie made with white sugar and those sparkly sugar crystals on top. It’s a brown sugar note, with vanilla extract. The SO needs to age, I think, because I only get a little around the edges, but even so this lasts FOREVER on my skin, even if I’ve used just a dab. Luckily, I don’t get clove or ginger or cinnamon like others above. In fact, I’d say this is a bit like chocolate chip cookie dough but without the chocolate, not quite “sugar cookie,” if that makes sense.

    Jack of Hearts

WHOA HONEY. STICKY, TOOTHSOME HONEY. Many years ago Lush made a one-off shower gel (not HIWTK, this was something else*) and it smelled like honey so thick you could chew it or wear it or build a home from it. Like, it's honey so thick it's jelly, it's jam, it's gravy... That’s what this smells like to me. It’s a good memory, and a nice scent, but not quite what I wanted.

    Cruor

I’ve been all about red musk in the last few years so I was excited about this fruity iteration, but in the end, it isn’t fruity OR musky enough to really make an impression. There’s also something that pulls a little sour, maybe that mango is a little overripe?
  16. I wish I could cut off the first half of the scent description and just have that, because all I get is the kind of eucalyptus that literally makes my teeth hurt when I sniff too hard. I’m really heartbroken about this one.

Chibi Skull With Last Will and Testament

I get something spicy like cinnamon, on top of something like brown suede. *squints at scent description*

    Pumpkin Scented Sticky Bat

I don’t get any pumpkin, to the point that I’ve wondered if my decant was 1) mislabeled or 2) not properly rolled/shaken/whatever before decanting.

The Elephant is Slow to Mate

As this ages—and as I wear it more often due to cooler weather—I notice more and more similarity to Blood Countess.

This is a Perfume About My Dog Eating Peaches

I am really surprised to say that this is my favorite of this year’s peach offerings because it is the least PEACH!!!!!!1!! and rather actually the most complex peachy blend on my skin. (I’m glad to be having a different experience than other reviewers in that way, but I also feel badly about that because the experience I get from this scent is A. MAZ. ING.) The peach is ripe and fresh, not like I sliced it but like I plucked it, sun-warmed, from a tree and used my fingernails to crack it open; the smell is the juice on my skin as it dribbles down my arms. I don’t get the usual marshmallow note, which usually helps a blend seem childlike and ephemeral; it must be grounded in that vanilla bean, which smells freshly scraped along the side of a blade. As for that toasted cream, I’m pretty sure that’s the most emotionally evocative part for me: I smell a hint of something slightly nutty and slightly fuzzy, almost if there are scents of Matilda herself in this blend because there is something here that smells like my cat’s summer-sweaty Frito feet. Gods I need more..

    Vanilla Cream and Pear

Yep, it’s creamy and beautiful vanilla pear. Sometimes cream smells salty to me, but not here; coupled with that ripe, juicy pear it is smooth. And not spicy pear, either, thank goodness. At one point I got a very sharp scent of something unexpected—my brain went, Whoa. Sarsaparilla? Licorice?? But by the time I was trying to label that note, it was gone.

    Vanilla Wafers and Peach Cream

I’m finding this peach to be way overripe, and I’m hoping it settles down over time. eta update - This has been a total non-starter on my skin. I can slather it but POOF. Gone. Luckily the peach settled down and it’s not that past-its-freshness smell I got at first, and when I tried this in a scent locket the initial scent burst was that same divine crusty sugar I get from my beloved Gollettes, but even in a locket it didn’t last. I’m wondering if I am somehow noseblind (or brainblind?) to this blend, so my next step is to make others start smelling me… How awkward…

    Elderberry Flower & Sandhill Plum

Full disclosure: I have never smelled elderberry flower. Also, when I looked into Sandhill plum, I found info about the fruit itself but also about how the entire blossoms are edible. Intriguing, right?? Then: This duet being for a good cause, I thought why not give it a go. I’m so glad I did! I definitely get floral blossoms from this, no fruity or jammy notes, but also I can’t say that it smells “like flowers.”(Helpful, right? LOL) Some florals tend to screech on me but this one whispers, not too soapy or fresh but not like a bouquet either. It’s more like if one were to *imagine* the scent of these two notes rather than *actually* smell them. And damn I wish I could describe this better, hype it up a little, because this blend is GOOD.
  24. Promotes vigor in undeath, and relieves the discomforts and complaints so common to incorporeal spirits! The learned and eminent scholar Alessandro Cagliostro once remarked, “Long experience has taught me to prize Doctor Constantine’s Compounds above all others!” Crushed violets, red currant, patchouli root, and Spanish moss. A rooty, earthy scent, this is not your typical light, sugary violet. It is dark and seductive. The patchouli root acts as an herbal base note, and I'm not sure my nose likes it. I will have to wear this a while and report back.

Vaginal Tales of the Nocturnal Palace

I initially screened out this scent for testing because amber is so fickle on my skin, and lotus can lean heavily aquatic. But I kept checking reviews and finally decided to splurge, and man, I’m glad I did. This is mostly creamy mallow on my skin, and it’s the perfect combination of subtle and long-lasting. So! Good!
