    Yggdrasil

Alas, all I can smell out of this is a very sharp kind of wood varnish? Or maybe polish? It's chemical and not at all nature-y like the other reviews, and strong enough to cover up any herb. This performs way better in an oil diffuser than on my skin, where it's the comfy, dry, light woodsy herbal blend that other people talk about.

    The Red Queen

I had to double check a couple of times to make sure that Beth hasn't changed her formula or anything, because I got something completely different than any of the reviews here. When I first opened my frimp, the blast of bitter cyanide that hit me in the face was so strong it almost knocked me off my feet. On my skin, thankfully, the wood is much more forward. It is indeed deep, and rich, and velvety. I can definitely see why people say that it almost resembles a dark chocolate note, with an undercurrent of cyanide running under it. Don't get me wrong, I love this. It's so incredibly evocative, so fitting with the name. And it's really just a sinister little trickle of nutty, bitter, almondy cyanide in a pool of thick dark chocolate.

    Black Lily

It is amazing just how incredibly accurate Beth's floral perfumes are! There's no perfumey quality to this at all. It smells exactly like burying your face in a fresh, dew-covered lily and taking a big huff. Very beautiful. This would honestly work quite well as a lily single note, I think.

    Eshe, A Vision of Life-In-Death (2016)

Whatever BPAL's embalming herbs are, I'm not sure they work on me. Alas, this smells very astringent and soapy on me. I don't get any of the notes described--I just smell toilet bowl cleaner. EDIT: Okay, I'm glad that I decided to let this sit a while and not scrub it off. Because when I make it past the first hour of stringent cleaner smell, this actually blossoms into something absolutely delicious--it's very light, airy, ephemeral florals, very fitting with the spectres on the bottles art. I can definitely see this becoming a wonderful locket scent!

    Santa Doesn’t Need Your Help

Oooh, this is absolutely delicious. It's fluffy sugary plums, with the herbalness of lavender cutting down on what would be toothaching sweetness. I ordered this because I am absolutely in love with my sugar plum hair gloss, and this scent does not disappoint. I'm sincerely considering a second bottle.

    Intrigue

I'm wondering if I got the same perfume as everyone else--something about how the wood mixes with the fig in this makes it smell like alcohol to me! Specifically, cognac or brandy, or perhaps umeshu. Some kind of fruit-based liquor, with a drizzle of bittersweet chocolate liqueur. It is deep and rich and absolutely delicious. This is one of few frimps that have made me vocally go "Wow!" as soon as I opened it.

    Death Cap

The first thing I thought when I first put this on is, "This smells like a raw, dirt-covered potato." As time goes on, wafts of sweet incense joins the notes, but the raw, starchy, dirt-covered potato remains the main note. I'm super intrigued by a potato scent. It's definitely its own niche. But I'm not sure what would be the appropriate occasion to wear this.

    Witches’ Kitchen

When I first opened the bottle, there was an immediate blast of MINT before it vanishes just as quickly as it came on. Aside from that couple of seconds of mint, this is a very spicy scent. I meant that literally, hot spicy. It's almost nose-burning. It reminds me quite a lot of Forge of Vulcan.

    Nuclear Winter

Both in the bottle and wet, this smells amazing. It's cold and frosty. Not really identifiably minty at all. With a floral note in it, that makes this smell like frost flowers. But as time goes on and it dries, a toothpaste notes starts to creep out. After a couple of hours, toothpaste is all I can smell.

    Envy

I have to concur with the previous viewer--for the first ten minutes or so that it hits my skin, it's a lovely light green, sparkly spring scent. Very basil-y, very minty. And then it immediately takes a head dive into bug spray territory, and now just smells like generic lemon-lime that cleaning chemical companies use.

    Silver Lace

This is what the name suggests---a whiter, cooler, higher-pitched version of Antique Lace. I don't get citrus, but I definitely get those cognac and juniper notes. Given that I mostly adore Antique Lace for its warm sweetness, I definitely still prefer the original to this.

    Versailles

I'm starting to think that jasmine just doesn't work for me--this smells strongly like playdough the second it hits my skin. I can get a little bit of rose now and then, and a little hint of citrus occasionally, and for one or two seconds, I can see how beautiful this scent could've been. If it weren't for the near constant plastic playdough scent smothering everything else.

    Grief

This is a very high-pitched, soapy scent on me. As it dries, a get a little bit of the aquatic, watery element that other people talk about coming through, but alas, it never stops being a rather sharp, soapy mess.

    Satyr

Super strong clove-y musk. I put on my normal amount of imp swipe, and it was strong enough to induce a headache. Something is very sweet in this too, as well as...I want to say minty? Or well, rather, there is the greenness of mint, without any of the coolness of mint. I agree with people's opinion that this is very similar to a sweetened up Czernobog, though, with how strong and forefront the musk is.

    Highest Quality Vagina

A dry, incense-y, almost powder-y nut scent. Almond and incense really dominant in this, surprisingly, as someone who really tends to amp the hell out of vanilla. I was expecting a "sexy" scent, but perhaps because of the strong incense reminding me of a Buddhist temple, this is much more of an ancient and sacred scent to me. If I didn't know the name, I would guess it was from BPAL's Egyptian Gods collection or something.

    Gentle Hands

I am a very picky eater when it comes to mangoes. The reason I hardly ever buy it unless I'm in a mango-producing country is that I will only eat the best of mangoes. Gentle Hands smell like mangoes, undoubtedly, but it smells like a cheap, low-quality mango. The kind that's very fibrous, filled with hard strands and not much meat. The kind that's become a touch overripe without ever actually sweetening up and ripening. Or maybe this is just a mango that's been cut open and left on the counter for too long and oxidized. The kind of mango that's got a thick, rubbery, green peel. In other words, this smells exactly like the kind of mangoes that can be bought in Walmarts. The amber warms the scent up, and gives the impression of a mango sticky rice dessert that the restaurant cheaped out on and bought the clearance mangoes for.

    Bien Loin D'Ici

This is a resinous benzoin that is just a touch sweet and just a touch spice-y and just a touch musky. Honestly, it's a pretty generic BPAL-y scent and I don't see myself reaching for it that often.

    Schrodinger's Cat

This is so fizzy and bubbly that the first thought that came to my head as soon as I sniffed the imp is, "Champagne!" But no, this is definitely ginger ale mixed with lemon-lime soda. I have no idea how "fizz" has a smell, but that is definitely the dominant note--fizziness. Gosh, this is so fun, I definitely need more!

    Nocturne

This is a very soft and ephemeral floral that nonetheless has a lot of staying power. I agree with what people have said about it being a quiet, reflective, feminine scent. Remind me of when I used to go on walks around the neighbourhood at 3am, when all is quiet and silent and bathed in silvery moonlight.

    Cathode

I was hoping for moss, but aside from a very lovely cool greeness in the first 30 seconds of putting it on, I don't get any at all. At first, the sweetness of the ambergris and the mint combine to smell like an after-dinner mint you get from a restaurant. With a little bit of mustiness, I suppose from the moss. Then, as time goes on, this becomes more and more like toothpaste, until I decided to go and scrub it off.

    Voodoo

A very earth, sweet incense. It's a pretty delicious scent, but I think in the incense category, my favourite will always be Gaueko. This is basically a "higher", "thinner" version of Gaueko, if you know what I mean.

    Arachnina, The Spider Girl (2016)

This is a lot of musk, a lot of tobacco, and a lot of patchouli. It's dirty, smoky, and got a lot of power. A little dab goes a long way. We'll see how long it lasts.

    Black Forest

This smells like...playdough. Or maybe pencil eraser. Either way, a plasticy, artificial scent. And it's very weak too. In less than 15 minutes, it had completely vanished. I'm very confused--never had any problems with any of these notes in other scents. I have no idea what happened. Perhaps I will let my imp rest a bit and try again?

    Les Fleurs du Mal

A mild, soft, but very generic floral. I can identify the rose, because I'm very much a rose-aholic, but it's not very forward--like the description says, this is very much a background rose. It's not unpleasant, but it's not really something I'm crazy for either.

    Endymion

What a perfectly lovely, ripe, juicy, crisp pear! This is an absolutely delicious scent. It's one of the first GC big bottles I ever bought, and I love it just as much today as back in 2015. Just beautiful.
