  1. OH WOW this is utterly intoxicating, the first thing that hits me is a blast of boozy sweet pumpkin coated in brown sugar being chased by a whisper of incense. Its the kind of open that you want to draw completely into your lungs, maybe even your soul.

Wet on the skin - The same players are present but less sweet and with more of the incense coming through. Once it's dry the incense really starts to make its presence known and becomes the main body but the pumpkin serves to liven the dry incense. 🎃

  2. In the bottle this is VERY interesting the notes are really hard to parse out as everything is happening all at once and the notes are less distinct from each other as you'd might expect. I think at first I'm getting a fougere cologne but there's also something slightly sweet about it thats not from the cologne, maybe the sweet leaves and then it ends in a dry campfireness not like a burning fire but like one that has just stopped burning. Somewhere there is also a faint moment of leather and moss but like only for a second. I'm not getting LEATHER which is great because I was worried about it. Fresh in the hair this doesn't get any less mysterious. This what I'd imagine an 18 central vampire would smell like as he sneaks up on you right as the last flame turns to burning coal in the bonfire. You can smell his expensive cologne, fine leather trimmings on his clothes and the freshly fallen leaves under his feet. Not yet marred in scent by the sins he's about to commit. After complete dry down it mostly becomes fougere cologne. Overall big cool androgynous spooky energy.

I am hoping to get a five item Halloween swap up this week that would be a small open on or near Halloween swap with all autumn or Halloween items. 🎃 If you would like to co-host, I could use one! I've only co-hosted but have never hosted a circular swap before.

This sounds like so much fun!

  4. This is just as advertised, yummy warm cider with pumpkin pie spices! 🍎 The buttercream is there too to round everything out and soften the spices. This reminds me of a candle you might find during fall but without the artificialness and way more realistic. 🎃

  5. I just received a decant of this and wow! This is so pretty. :luv2: I'm normally not a fan of florals unless they are really soft and fresh and that is exactly what this is.

I totally agree that there is no rose in this or other high pitched florals, thankfully! Its also very well blended and I can't pick out any particular notes.

Overall its like being in a butterfly garden, lots of pretty soft florals, some greenery and some faint wisps of nectar. 🦋🐛

  6. For me this is pretty much as described, I get the guava, cotton candy, and strawberry milk. 🍓🥛 This is a very fun and happy scent. This has low throw for me (has better throw in a scent locket) which is keeping it from being bottle worthy but I will enjoy my imp.

  7. I snagged this off of Etsy on a whim because I was low on bath oil. Based off the scent notes I was worried the berries would translate to cough syrup which can happen for me sometimes but nope this is beautiful! As others have said Ice Princess is surprisingly warm due to the honey and vanilla cream but the berries give it a Yule edge. I'm happy I snagged this. :wub2:

  8.

Sylvia is my favorite Hallowench, and this hair gloss did not disappoint! Plus I'm a sucker for anything with "fur" listed, as generally this makes a very fuzzy/cozy scent.  :werewolf:

Smelling from the bottle I can pick out all the notes, the amber hits you first, than the rice (there is just enough to be interesting but not enough to smell like you've been in a cafeteria food fight) and then the champaca.

Once in the hair everything blends together and gives off a general cozy ambery vibe with a bit more interest to it with the rice and champaca. Very glad I wasn't scared off by the rice and decided to get this. :evol:

  9. I am in heaven...this is ssssoooo nice and cozy.

Sniffing from the bottle I get more of the notes that comprise sweater which I'm having a hard time placing but it is a very clean comforting sophisticated smell. Certainly a freshly washed sweater. Something about this sweater profile reminds me of Wax Cylinders, but a note that is not listed.

Once on the skin the apple cider comes out more and adds warms to the blend. To me neither aspect dominates the other, it just becomes a very gorgeous autumnal blend. I will cherish this!!!!

  10. Totally agree with the sentiments above, this is not as strong of a lavender as TKO. It's super soft and fluffy. I can't really pick up the Bergamot. The pear and sandalwood are very subtle. Doomsday_disco is totally accurate in saying that this comes off as a soft sugared vanila mallow scent. This is great for bedtime!

From the GC, can’t go wrong with No. 93 Engine for a lovely non-floral beeswax 🐝

Adding that to my next order!

Seconding No. 93 Engine, thirding V'al Ha Nissim, and adding The Writing on the Slate from 2017 Yules:  beeswax candles, chalk, and dust. And I can't wait to try Endless Corridors!  I'm assuming you've tried The Lights of Men's Lives and it reads as honey? If not, it's one of my very favorite GCs and certainly worth adding an imp to your next lab order to see if it works on you: The wax and smoke of millions upon millions of candles illuminating the walls of Death’s shadowy cave: some tall, straight, and strong, blazing with the fire of life, others dim and guttering.

For some reason I thought the Lights of Men's Lives was limited, I will add it to my need to try list too! An imp is worth it! Thank you everyone! :wub2:

It's new but I'm very excited about Endless Corridors, the new LE from the halloween collection: A flicker of beeswax and candle smoke casting distorted shadows on a blackened panel of vetiver. No official reviews yet but someone posted a good impression in the Weenies thread!

Eusapia is a very pretty scent. On me it was mostly white musk and lilac, but I bet the beeswax comes out over time.

I'm also interested in Endless Corridors but am waiting for reviews. I like vetiver and beeswax and for some reason am getting into smoky scents lately.

I ordered a decant of that one and can't wait to try it! 🕯️:squee:

V'al Hanissim from last year's Yules is really beautiful. It's a beeswax and amber scent.

This scent created my love of beeswax and my perpetual hunt for more beeswax scents.

I googled this recently after you mentioned it in the yule thread and it sounds amazing but stupid me forgot to added it to my wishlist!

    Utter Sophistication from Fatherhood 2019!

This also sound good but I'm weary of popcorn as mouse circus got plasticky on me. Maybe I will chase down a decant!

Eusapia features lilac, white tea, and beeswax. It's a reoccuring Yule.  The Gambols of Ghosts was a 2016 Halloweenie. (Rivulets of beeswax and amber flame illuminating a pale blue midnight, eddying with phantom violets, olive blossom, and moss)

The florals aren't prominent in Gambols, but if you can't do lilac, skip Eusapia.

    I'll second V'al Hanissim.

I can't say I've tried many violet blends so It might be time to make the leap, I've been wondering about Gambols for awhile.

  14. Hello!,

I am humbly looking for some advice. :beg: I am newer to BPAL (2017) and have only recently discovered that beeswax is my favorite scent note, however I cant do honey on my skin. I AMP honey and it usually becomes too sweet and cloying. I am looking to add any kind of BPAL beeswax product to my collection, be it perfume, Hair Gloss, Bath Oil, ect! Unfortunately, to further complicate things, most floral notes and almond are death notes on me.  :skull: I already own Wax Cylinders and At Midnight With A Pumpkin Light, any advice is much appreciated! :wub2:

  15. This thread has been so interesting to read, my bedtime favorites are both LE so eventually i'm going to run into a problem. My combo is Sweet Sleep hair gloss and Incolumitas perfume, I really need to explore some GC offerings. I also need to do some testing on oils that can help with nightmares, I've had them since I was a kid. Little me was so disappointed to find out there is no such thing as nightmare away medicine. :(

  16. So I followed instructions and promptly gave my second one to a friend and boy do I regret it, this became my bedtime scent and one imp went so fast.

I cannot agree more with kscha2017 , this totally reminds me of the smell of taking a bath, between the lavender epsom salt and the vanilla candle I burn it is a dead ringer.

Such a beautiful blend that is very comforting to the soul, I am desperately hoping this gets released in some capacity one day.  :violin:

  17. First off this is identical in texture to old school Villainess Soap, very buttery with great suds! :wub3: The bar has a earthy green color with subtle variations in tone and a pretty swirl of bonfire ash on top. This scent is surprisingly very green and clean. There is a bit of spice to but to my nose the bitter clove is very prominent and contributes to the overall green feel, you could definitely get away with using this scent in warmer climates. The bar is decently fragrant in the shower and lightly lingers afterwords.

  18. I purchased this straight from the website and I am so glad I did! I opted for the strawberries and champagne one because sadly my skin and cardamom do not get along. I agree that the texture is very much like old school Villainess Smooch scrubs, very emollient and buttery on the skin. I really like the addition of the strawberry fruit powder for an extra boost of strawberry scent and additional scrubbies. The scent is borderline edible and to my nose it smells like fresh strawberries candied with a splash of champagne, its a great gourmand that isn't too heavy. I really hope bpal and B.Perry create more scrubs, i'm already looking for more! 🍓🍾
