  1. Achievement Unlocked: earned enough to pay for the professional license on my natal chart software.

  2. Watching #Hannibal - Sorbet on @hulu http://t.co/4RPdIvzXBi This show is entrancing.

  3. 4 of 5 stars to Going Postal by Mark Ames http://t.co/ZIHOrEBBQM

  4. 4 of 5 stars to The Exile by Mark Ames http://t.co/T8dF9fQW0H

  5. Birthday wishes were deeply appreciated; thank you, all. I have a stack of books that arrived with unexpected efficiency and timeliness from Amazon, mirabile dictu. And if Camie Schaefer and Erin Rogers were the ones who sent me a shiny pretty from my wishlist then thank you so much! (If it was Clare Moss in a fugue state, she doesn't remember.) Saving the birthday wine for Friday.

  6. These are the most genial movers ever.

  7. As you can see, that app is just an automated flattery machine. I know this because similar programs using real algorithms have already told me I look like Peter Sellers.

  8. Be thou my vision! Had a job interview at an optician's today. Cautiously optimistic, and I learned that apparently some people think it's okay to haggle over frames? Really? They asked what I would say if someone tried to do that and I had to not reply that I would say "Dude, no...no, that's not a thing." (I said something about competitive prices instead.) So like, if it ever occurred to you to say "I'll give you fifty" at an optician's shop, don't do that.

  9. at the Fuller Building downtown trying to time my entry for exactly fifteen minutes early.

  10. I can wait all night, pizza guy, you BRING ME THAT PEPSI I ORDERED OR I WILL DESTROY YOU.

  11. Bad news: jurisprudence test in a few minutes! Good news: it's open-book! Bad news: I forgot the book! #imanidiot

  12. pretending to write something important on my blackberry so that the Class Psycho (it's actually not me!) doesn't engage me in conversation, please disregard...

  13. Thanks for sitting down with me uninvited at the cafeteria and sharing your thoughts about who in the class is a "troublemaker", I definitely wasn't busy reading or eating or anything!

  14. Bros, Romans, countrymen, thank you for the birthday wishes. My 29th birthday (and the Feast of the Presentation of the Virgin) was spent browsing the bookstores and doing nothing in particular. I picked up the Penguin hardcover of Hound of the Baskervilles and Robertson Davies's book of pompous ghost stories.

  15. Best thing about this accounting assignment was the careful attention paid to a law clerk's billable hours on the timesheet. $65/hr, so get my ill-informed opinions and thankless Google scutwork while it's free, guys.

  16. This week I faced my greatest fear twice: I returned phone calls to people I don't know very well. (Okay I do have greater fears than those but THE PHONE the phone is a frightening thing.) And I was rewarded by the phone gods who blessed me by giving me voicemail both times. BALL'S IN YOUR COURT NOW, SUCKERS.

  17.

http://t.co/weGzdd0w My reading of my favourite Gerard Manley Hopkins poem, for C.

  18. Twitchy and nauseated from overcaffeination over the course of an all-nighter. It has made me unreasonably excited about property relationships in parking lots. I want to TELL THE WORLD.

  19. Phil Webster was right, I acknowledge it: Polish vodka is better than Russian. Eases the pain of being stuck at Baseline station for half an hour in the rain waiting for the bus.

  20. This claaaass please kill me. I think it's sucking knowledge OUT of my head rather than the reverse.

  21. Today in Algonquin malapropisms and mistakes: William the Lionheart conquered England in 1066, apparently.

  22. When did I start actually liking these crappy California rolls in the cafeteria? And why am I paying $5.99 for them? #fuguestate

  23. Foggy morning. All the prettiness of rain with none of the mess. http://t.co/ujv4eZfI

  24. Friends, it is raining so hard that we need umbrellas INSIDE THE BUS SHELTER. The roof couldn't handle it. #wtfottawa
