    Autumn Sun I

Sometimes I will look at the notes for a decant and struggle to understand why I picked it, while lovely sounding this is the sort of scent that doesn't usually work on me. However this scent is more about the tea and amber, with a light lovely backing of woods and a tiny bit of earth. The amber is pale, lightly sweet. With the tea it reminds me of weak autumn sun, so absolutely perfect for evoking the inspiration. It's earthy and somewhat in that dead leaves space without being intense.
  2. Oooh this is delicious! A gorgeous spicy chocolate scent, but not very foodie somehow despite being all food notes! The chocolate is on the drier, more cocoa-y side. The spice from the cinnamon and chipotle (despite being chipotle honey) keep it from being very sweet. The chipotle adds a bit of smoke as well. Cozy but not too cute!

Fir Needle, Peony, and Indigo Musk

Beautiful fir and a deep, fresh blue musk. Makes me think of stargazing in a forest. I catch a whiff of peony in the imp, but struggle to find it on my skin until a ways into the dry down. Even then it flutters gently around the fir needles.

    Lady Amalthea

From the reboot. A chilly, creamy floral. Ethereal, but grounded somewhat by the white chocolate. Absolutely gorgeous!

    The Harpy Celaeno

From the reboot. I was not expecting to like this so much! I get a super smooth myrrh roughed up a bit with a slightly gnarly patch in the imp. Just a touch of a grassy vetiver. On my skin it is more about the myrrh, and a little bit about the vetiver but it is behaving very nicely on my skin. The clove creeps out a bit as it dries, and I catch hints of a deep green that I think are the balsam and maybe the horseradish? It's a dark, earthy scent, but not as raucous and harsh as I anticipated (particularly with how vetiver tends to go on my skin).

    Molly Grue

This is from the reboot. The base of this scent for me is the rice flower. A wispy, creamy floral. The sesame and hazelnut meld in, and a bit of dried fig peaks out. The spices are very light on me. This is a cozy, creamy scent. Very homey and comforting.

    Captain Cully

Reboot version. This one starts out very fresh-musky in the imp and wet. I want to say it's a blue musk, there's a freshness that makes me think of a sea breeze but without coming across as salty. A bit of soft leather hangs in the back but doesn't bloom until it hits my skin. As it dries it is much more about the soft, warm leather. Some woods and I think I catch a toasty grain note that's the porter but I couldn't say for certain. A beautiful cozy leather scent!

    Arachne of Lydia

This is the reboot version. In the imp this is all clove, but dusky and low. It doesn't come off as baking spice or Christmas decoration. Just a sultry, dark spice. On my skin the clove stays strong, but now with a fruity undertone. It smooths it a bit, and adds a touch of sweetness. I really love this, it is a mysterious and murky scent, a with a bit of a bite.

    Bobbing for Smut

In the imp I get a very sugary apple, and a smidge of musk. On my skin the apple is a bit fresher, juicier. It stills has a sugary coating, like biting into a candied apple with lots of musk swirling around.

    Fleece Skeleton Onesie

This one stays pretty much the same on me from the imp to skin. There's a fuzzy, musky, vanillic cotton as the base, with some fruity tones. It doesn't read as a 'clean laundry cotton' to me (and I love those) as the fruity note(s) come off as dark to me, though I can sort of see how it reads laundry to others, but it's just soft and fuzzy to me. There's something deeply familiar about the blend, but I can't quite put my finger on it. I think it is that eyeliner/makeup scent others are referencing. Really fun!

Dead Leaves, Praline, and Sheer Vanilla

In the imp I get a soft dead leaves enveloped by a gauzy, lacy vanilla. On my skin the dead leaves go weird for a little bit, thought this was going to be a dud for me but after 10-15 minutes it settled out beautiful. A soft true dead leaves, warmed and sweetened by nutty praline and gauzy vanilla. They are beautifully in balance, and each time I come back to sniff my wrist one of the components shuffles up to the front. One sniff is a slightly more vanilla forward, the next is slightly more dead leaves, etc.

    Sheut

In the bottle this is very green and camphorous. Almost fizzy. On my skin I get a bunch of herbal notes pretty sure I get lemon grass or lemon verbena or something of the sort, and maybe fennel or something else anisey. Mint?? It's very bracing, a sharp green and sort of citrussy. As it dries I get a bit of resin underneath, I think frankincense. I could definitely see myself wearing this in the summer. ETA: papyrus?? I think I might be getting the papyrus note in the dry down as well?

    October 32

In the bottle this smells like a lighter October without the chilly breeze. Leafy. On my skin the wool comes out, followed by amber and cream which really smooth out the blend. I can't pick out tea specifically but I find it to not stand out on my skin very well. This is a very wearable dead leaves scent on me, they are very much in the background once dry. A lovely autumnal blend.

    Bobbing for Snake Oil

Rich spicy Snake Oil and crisp red apple! Absolutely delicious and has the perfect balance between the two on my skin.

    Sesen

In the bottle I get a smooth, slightly musky resinous sort of scent, with a fresh (green or maybe floral?) facet. On my skin it's more distinctly floral, slightly waxy like a lily. It reminds me slightly of Black Lily. The floral note is backed softly by the warm, resinous scent. Really pretty!

    The Love Potion

In the bottle this was very much neroli with a sappy greeness to it. On my skin it's more incensey and perfumery, in particular I get the rose musk. The wood comes out a bit more as it dries (pretty sure I get sandalwood too). It's *almost* dusty. Makes me think of a gorgeous wood-panelled study with lots of incense sitting around, and little bottles of fine oils about.

    Heksenbijeenkomst

Gorgeous! A deep, purple-blue plummy incense. The opium gives that deep but bottomless/sheer effect. Dark but not heavy. It is dirtied up slightly by the tobacco on the skin.

    Pella

It started off smooth and almost buttery, on my skin it went sharp initially and smoothed back out. I want to say I'm getting resins and a bitter almond sort of note, and there's a floral of some kind (I think white) that went a bit too heady and funky for a moment before settling. Rather pretty!

    Scene with Witches

In the bottle I get cotton with a light, clean edge to it but quickly dirtied it up by soft sweet incense. It reminds me of the incense blend in All Souls. Ambergris drapes around all of this with a musky, salty fog. On my skin it smells quite the same as in the bottle, but a bit warmer and it has more depth. Less clean. I want to say there's a light wood note, but I can't really pin it. Maybe it's the herbs? I agree with the above, it's definitely a sheer and cool scent, giving the effect of gray silk.

If your top 5 scents are... Then try these!

@myoubi I haven't tried most of your list but I wonder if you might like Strange Is Thy Pallor! Strange Thy Dress! Looks a bit chillier than La Fee Verte but has that absinthe thing going on. @blackcatmrow If you have a need for hair gloss I recommend trying Crack of Thunder, I find it pairs so well with Drider Crossing Guard!

    Wrapped in Sable Garments

In the bottle I get a chewy patch with a lightly smoked dark chocolate. On my skin the cacao fades back a bit, and it's more mahogany and patch, with that vanilla-cherry-hay situation of tonka. Earthy, rich, with a sleekness from the mahogany and touch of smoke. As it dries the cacao comes back, doing less of a solo and more blended with the choir. It reminds me a bit of The Antikythera Mechanism, but this works on my skin!

    Precious Beauty

I went a similar direction as frizzlechicken, thinking 'fancy Lucky Charms'. It's oaty, sugared, with lots of vanilla. On my skin the almond comes out (stays nutty, not cherryish!) And just a tiny bit of fig comes out, gives a bit of chewy sweetness. A really delightful gourmand-ish. It's elegant and homey at the same time.

Through The Gloom The Sisters Rose

A beautiful deep pomegranate note (smells just like Black Pomegranate SN to me), it's dark and syrupy with the wine and brown sugar notes. I can detect the tobacco, and it comes out more as it dries, but the scent is definitely about the pom.

    The Robeky Venus

Really creamy vanilla and roses in the bottle, with a touch of fruitiness. On my skin it's a little muskier with the ambergris coming out, and that beautiful vanilla gets a little more pronounced as well. The rose is soft and creamy, smells like white rose to me. The fruitiness hangs in the background still. This feels like a champagne-less cousin to The Waltz to me. Like an afternoon tea vs a ball.

    Flaming June

Big beautiful neroli! It's heady and a bit dark, and reminds me of the one in Orange Blossom & Driftwood, without the saltiness of course. On my skin it's gets just lightly tinged with the blood orange (more the zest than juice), and a soft warm base of amber. I can't pick out the musk, but I think it's adding to the sheerness. It's does a wonderful job of translating the artwork, it has a glowing quality about it.
