    Queen of Sheba

Yummy spiced almond cookies. A dry sexy scent. I want more.

What BPAL would this fictional character wear?

Anyone got any ideas for the characters of the show Hannibal? I've already decided that Freddie Lounds would smell like War, but what about Frederick Chilton? Dr. Lecter? Alana Bloom? Will Graham?

    Elf

My nose is not yet sophisticated enough to pull out specific notes, so all I can say is that it smells like a sparkly forest. That's not a bad thing at all, I love this scent.

    Jailbait

Bubblegum and cherry lollipops. I get cinnamon from this, somehow, maybe it's Big Red gum. Yummy sugary goodness. But when it dries, it's a very unsettling scent for some reason. Underneath all the sweetness, there's something just off about it. It really reminds me of something Ellen Page's character in Hard Candy would wear. Very fitting. I love this. It's also really great layered with Eat Me.

    Dorian

Mmmmmm. Sexy vanilla tea dry and wet on my skin. I need more.

    Cheshire Cat

Pretty kitty! I bought a blind bottle of this partly because I like all of these notes and but mainly because the Cheshire Cat is one my favorite characters of all time. In the bottle: Dark, murky grapefruit. I can smell some musk in there. Wet: Pink grapefruit with deep red (bordering on purple) currant stripes, just like in the Disney cartoon. Bright and cheery, low throw. Dry: This is so fascinating. It dries very close to the skin, with a lavender-spiked musk taking the center stage. However, the grapefruit/currant scent lazily rolls in and out in waves, as if he keeps vanishing and reappearing. "You may not have noticed, but I'm not really all there myself." Verdict: I want to roll around in sheets soaked in this scent. It's so comforting and snuggly. And my own kitty loves it!

They Shall Eate the Residue of that which is Escaped

In the bottle: Vanilla minty goodness. Wet on skin: Still yummy vanilla mint, like a dry dessert. Dry on skin, 15 min. later: Now, there's the rosewood I know and love with a nice sandalwood twist and a hit of sage. 10/10, would buy a backup bottle.

    El Dorado

Shame El Dorado doesn't get much love, because I adore it! It was frimped in my first ever order from BPAL, and I need a bottle ASAP. Rich, golden copal. My nose isn't sophisticated enough to pick out anything else, but I love this! Smells like a good, rich cologne, leaning toward the masculine side a bit, but I like that. A powerful scent. Give me all the bottles.

What BPAL would this fictional character wear?

I feel like Matt would be Anathema (black opium, vetiver, honeysuckle) with a dribble of Blood. Harley Quinn (yay, my favorite character of anything ever!) would definitely smell like Mouse Circus, and wears Jailbait on date nights with Mistah J

    A Grievous Swarm

I agree with Anne's review above! It's a dark, almost chewy tobacco scent, with lots of vetiver and pepper buzzing about. Very smoky, almost hazy. Might need a backup bottle of this, if not simply to reply "the plague of flies" whenever someone asks what perfume I'm wearing.

Scent Recs based on your PERSONALITY!

Thank you for all you suggestions, everyone! Now I've added Jazz Funeral, New Orleans, Venice, and The Chicken-Legged Hut to my list (I already have an imp of Poisoned Apple and I love it.) Thanks again everyone.

If your top 5 scents are... Then try these!

Looks like you like amber in your scents and aren't afraid of vanilla, if you can do honey you should try "O" which is amber and honey with vanilla. Also, maybe Tamora and The Lion which are lovely amber based scents. Also, check out the notes/reviews for Verdandi, The Fox sisters, Desire, and Beauty the Aggrieved. Thank you so much! Tamora and Verdandi are now on my list! I really appreciate your suggestions!

Scent Recs based on your PERSONALITY!

I'm new to BPAL, but I'll give this a shot (I'm really bad at describing myself): I'm 16 and I live in the American South in a small town, but I want to go to college in a big city. I love city living and traveling to new places; in fact, I'm taking a trip to Italy for my spring break! I love learning about history. I'm pretty quiet. I used to be really shy, but I've gotten over a lot of my shyness and become more outgoing. I have a deep fascination with the macabre. Maybe it's because my dad owns a funeral home, but I've always loved mythology, the supernatural and gothic horror, especially the Southern Gothic genre. I love to write my own stories, and I love doing research for the backgrounds of those stories, like researching poisons the murderer would use. Hannibal is my favorite tv show of all time. On a lighter note, I also love Marvel and DC Comics. I want to someday work as a screenwriter for superhero films. I hope this was enough info!

If your top 5 scents are... Then try these!

I'm new to BPAL, but can I have a shot? So far, these are my favorites: Le Serpent Qui Danse/Snake Oil (the best vanilla scents ever) Queen of Sheba El Dorado Brisingamen Pele Honorable mentions for Poisoned Apple, Belladonna, and Mary Shelley Any recommendations for me?

    Le Serpent Qui Danse

My first review, so please be nice! I took a whiff out of the vial, and I was instantly in love. Lots of spicy gardenia, with just enough vanilla to keep it from literally burning my nostrils. Stayed the same wet on my wrists, no problem there whatsoever. Drying, violets start to creep out and cover the gardenina scent some. The vanilla stays creamy the entire time, never fading. One of my first BPALS, and I need a 5ml right now. This is GORGEOUS.
