    La Vague

The peach in this is amazing, but the lily and jasmine wreak tag team havoc with my chemistry. Weep weep!

    Lurid

I'm kind of digging this - normally I don't like currant, but this is so rich that it smells almost like chocolate on me. The lavender is very well balanced and the musk and ozone lighten things up.

    April Fool

The lemon balm is prominent at first but nicely tempered by the other fruits, and there is a green tang that I think must be the parsley-like note. They all become supporting notes in the drydown. The dry down is awesome - I definitely smell the nicotiana, which I think makes April Fool something of a summertime Black Lace. Only instead of vanilla and cognac, you get subtle fruit and a ghost of rose. I like to wear Black Lace at night, for a fancy party. April Fool is what I'd wear to brunch the next morning.

    Nocnitsa

Very piney at first with a whiff of dirt, but this dries down into a gorgeous, lightly-sweet scent. Wintry and warm at the same time. Hanging on to my imp!

    Yemaya

Can't make out the grape here, just the melon at first which is lovely and not too sweet. There is some sort of flower in here that I recognize but can't put my finger on - lily? - it's very alkaline and unpleasant on me and ruins the melon. Sad.

    Dove's Heart

Did you ever read The Princess and the Goblin by George MacDonald? In it the little princess discovers she has a magical sort of aunt, who among other things has a beautiful bath full of stars. I was always so entranced by that - I think Dove's Heart smells the way I imagine that bath would have.

    Maenad

Carnation and orange blossom are prominent to begin with, and then the strawberry picks up and gives this a candied flower smell. It is very strong at first, and though it calms down considerably into something pleasantly fruity, overall it's too sweet for me.

    Lucretia

Super soapy on me - I think from the violet.

Best BPAL for gym, workout, sports, exercise?

I would suggest not wearing scent to the gym. When you sweat, it can actually magnify the scent quite a lot, and as you've got a somewhat captive audience, it's not really fair to the people who might be sensitive to smells or just dislike that particular scent. I'm just thinking of one particular gentleman who uses the gym at my parents' place - he wears a cologne that I think is nasty and it just totally saturates the gym even hours after he has come and gone. Granted, that's an extreme case, and I think that BPAL given that it is alcohol free, is less likely to be offensive - but better safe than sorry.

    Two Monsters

I smell the patchouli and the oakmoss, which gives this a lovely, dry sort of air. Then the leather comes up and takes over. Sort of smells like chamomile, too. How odd! Pleasant, but I'm not sure how I feel about this one.

    The Isle of the Dead

This smells like dandelions on me! Wet dandelions. It's a very nostalgia-filled scent, but I'm not loving it on me as a perfume.

    Iambe

I was sure this had jasmine in it, because it seems to hate me and has gone totally sour and icky. Who is the culprit? Gladiola? Idk, but it's off to swaps.

    Eve

Apple blossom + ylang ylang = total grossness on maribouquet! Most unpleasant, sorry to say.

    Viola

    Argh, lily.

    Othello

Lovely, dry sexy musk at first, but dries down into something strangely fruity.

    Earth Rat

The melon and peony are deliciously gorgeous, but my nemesis dragon's blood ends up making Earth Rat sadly unwearable for me.

    Belle Époque

A sort of sweet citrusy floral. A little bit alkaline at first - the lily, I think. Quickly warms up and is very fresh and a little bit tart. I'd like a drink that smells like this. The lily seems to be behaving itself on me, which is rare. Overall too sweet for me, but nice.

    Ophelia

Sweet, wet flowers. Smells like a fruit I can't put my finger on. After about five minutes, something starts smelling like sour hay? Is there lily in this? Now it's going sort of doughy. This really doesn't play well with my skin, so I'll have to swap it.

    Olokun

Wet, this smells fresh and ozoney. Clean aquatic with a cucumbery sort of undertone. Reminds me a little of Ogun...but it eventually goes dryer-sheety on me.

    Wezwanie / Hold

This is all powdery nut 'n' honey on me, and after a long while something a little bitter - I think the myrrh? Nice, and I can see how it would be lovely on others, but it's just okay on me.

Nnngh. I'll be in my bunk. Seriously. This is so amazingly good and hot and from now on every time I fantasize about a man, he will smell just like this.

    Mort de Cesar

Testing out my decant today, and I am surprised by how much I am enjoying this. Really loving what I think is the combo of amber musk and opoponax. The blood accord is very much present and has a wonderful iron-like tang to it. Very complex yet smooth and vital. I may have to track down a bottle if possible.

    Horreur Sympathique

I like the complexity and the banked warmth I get from this, but it is too heavy on the grape and wine to work for me, sadly.

    Sapphics

Ooh, lovely, darkly sophisticated at first, but my skin funks it up. > I blame the lily.

    The Mock Turtle's Lessons

Pretty apple with a slight vodka tang at first. Unfortunately the dry down leaves me with a sort of powdered vodka scent.
