    Gnome

My imp of gnome was a special gift brought to me by Chumwick, so I knew it was ahem a "special" scent. Well, it was indeed dark and earthy, and I dabbed it on expecting it to turn a tad less dark. THE EARTH part that other people mention seemed to amp up on me, and even though I used a tiny drop it was the kind of "spilled an entire bottle on self" darkness feeling. It did remind me of dark rooms and head shops of my youth, but it felt too dark to wear comfortably, so despite being a special gift it has now found a loving home with a forumite who after receiving my imp ordered a bottle. On me it was too patchouli/vetiver for comfy wearing:(
  2. Gingerbread Poppet, Bonfire Night, Antique Lace, Dorian , Centzon T(whatever it is) as well as some other oils from a weirdo etailer in Ohio the vanillas and honey and of course PUmpkin just envelope me in warm snugglies!

    El Dia de los Reyes

This is a very rich chocolate; almost too much (never thoghtI'd say that)but over time it does calm down abit. There is a hint of cinnamon, but overall I am enveloped in warm hot chocolate.I definitely enjoy this, and am glad I have a bottle for slathering-this probably will be a dab instead of a slather-its an almost mocha buttery chocolate but that's just IMHO! very enjoyable-stops licking wrist ADDED Nov. 22: I ditto previous comment-more chocy cocoa goodnessenveloping me in a warm chocolate blanket and a mug o'cocoa(as if that makes sense)!!!It is a new favo0rite for sure!!!!!!!woot-staying power is good-but I keepgetting hungry and smelling wrist

    Gingerbread Poppet

Mine just came today, and it was a messy, sloppy, wet day so to be rescued by GINGERBREAD POPPET yum-I think it might be a tad fruitier than my other bottle (that is now safe for me to stop hoarding)have slathered a couple times since Ive been home and even though it makes me hungry I love it-warm,spicy,purrfect! ADDED Dec. 18: Now that I have the 2007 bottle I can relax and use the last drops of my 2005 bottle;my wrists smell like moist, warm gingerbread, the best cake or cookie ever. The 2005 lasts quite a while on me, almost peppery but in a good way, and with this I am getting hungry

    Pumpkin Queen

Just received it today from my SW via another forumite-a full bottle;immediately smelled luscious nuts and fruity pumpkin.Over time it was not baked goods, but more sublte, less foody, could wear it around others without causing undue harm.Had wrist affixed to nose for good portion of the day.It has faded to a fruitypumpkin; kind of like when you cut the pumpkin open.I have a new love!

    Bonfire Night

reminds me-just got home, and bonfire night is one of my new faves, and would be perfect to fall asleep with(ok,so I have no life-but the smokiness is comfy;I dont even really smell beer though-some almost caramel perhaps? ADDED Jan. 31: I think I bought it because of remembering Guy fawkes night, and some bonfire nights I'd been to in the UK, and this scent is as close to bringing those bonfire nights back as humanly possible. When I first put it on I get smoke, which is how it should be. IN RL I dont like smoke whatsoever, but this is soft smoke, reminds me of worn tweed jackets, sitting around at folk clubs, library books, and autumn leaves. It has a dusty slightly dirty feel, but is warm and inviting at the same time. It is my new beloved, and I am hoarding my bottles> It does have quite a bit of throw, and while it is not something I'd wear if I wanted to feel oh so energetic and sparkly, it is a comforting slightly boozy woodsmoke that is comforting, and is my new favorite scent to wear for going to sleep. ADDED 7/21/09: No carrot smell for me; just luscious woodsmoke, and a bit of beer, and a slightly dirty or dirt scent, maybe whiskey smoke if such a thing exists. This is my go to sleep scent most timesand very evocative of Bonfire Night GUY FAWKES night I spent in Camden town, London about twenty three years ago, as well as everyday burning leaves bonfires in mid afternoon, Maybe this is slightly masculine, definitely not clean feeling, but very luscious and warm

    Centzon Totochtin

This on me is warm, comfy, caramel goodness that stays pretty true on drydown. fell in love with it upon 1st sniff, and am hesitating using it, because I tend to slather and ONLY have the one bottle-thank goodness it is GC!

    Tum

have gone through half a bottle in less than a week-grape soda that is mysterious-i must get more, dont smell honey, more like sunflower and grape with a spicy sweet yum for the tum ADDED April 8: i getgrape soda from tum-or the kind of grape chewing gum I liked whe n I was a little kidlet...never knew I liked grape stuff so much-so if it would only be a bit warmer so I can use my beloved Tum now-umplease !

    Red Lantern

A tribute to the opium den cum bawdyhouses of Shanghai in the 1930s. Golden amber, blonde tobacco, Sudanese black coconut, rich caramel, black currant, white opium and delphinium laced with a sensual blend of Asian spice. it was my first FAVORITE and i had to search to find more.Other peeps have said dirty ashtray, but on me, I think cherry coke! with a little bit of fizz, and caramel on the backburner coming out after an hour.one of the things I like is its mellow cherry coke with caramel!, also its jackets with elbow patches too (to me)

    Miskatonic University

just reading about Misk U makes me drool it is such a warm, comforting, wrap the comforter around you and read good books scent. the caramel is not overpowering to me at least, and the coffee comes through like a rich after dinner coffee after a satifying meal with good company and conversation. ADDED Oct. 22: I had this (and loved it)even before Bonfire Night, and ow I love it-am glad its GC-the coffee smell isterrific-I tend to slather and forget about it,but it definitely has throw-so perhaps I ought to use a little less-its buttery in a good way, and caramel and coffee(not burntwarm and cozy and a good library scent)

    Thirteen (13): July 2007

On July 23rd, let it be known that Madame carwoman believes she has set a new record for going through most of a bottle. This afternoon it arrived in mailbox. SHe quickly squeed, attached the "saver"cap so kindly provided per her request, and proceeded to dab on her wrist before getting into her chariot for her commute to town. She already had applied DRINK ME in the morning... first impressions-sweet chocolate-Hershey bar cocoa with some gingernut goodness creeping in, but an hour later scent was very faint. Maybe this is something similar to when I eat something I shouldnt the pleasure is mighty but fleeting? Later in the day she applied more, because she liked it so much the first dab.Who wouldnt want to smell like a wonderful gingery chocolate confection. Applied more while I was at the movies, watching Wizard of Oz and The Princess Bride(a perfect day , movies and new BPAL) Nobody in the row turned around at my newly applied scent; and it mingled well with my buttered popcorn. Then it was gone again. Bedtime=now-I wanted to apply it again, and looked at bottle; only to realize that I have clearly gone through at least a third of the bottle since this afternoon. so apparently I must be a super slathere.I love the scent; but wish it hung around longer. I just dabbed it on pulse points (really) dont think it leaked, and had no idea had run through this much!!! Stay longer, my little cocoa ginger love! ADDED July 27: goodbye 13-my bottle is gone now after just a few days; the scent just slithered away on me within a half hour, so I kept trying it again and again, and while it smelled good at first, am afraid it had NO throw on me, so I used it all up in hopes something would change(have never gone through full bottle before in less than a month) bye bye 13:(

    Belle Époque

In the vial it is sweet smelling ladyness or something:I imagine walking down a street with a parasol feeling feminine. On me-I even slather, and I'm outside and wondering where it has gone. It seems to have disappeared, so despite the luscious in the bottle scent, it doesnt seem to linger on me enough.Hopefully it will linger on someone else>

I feel frumpy + Need help!

greetings from another frumpette feeling person:))) I have a feeling we are not truly frumpy;my guess is that the truly frumpscious have no idea that they are so; we who are so conscious of it probably are style vixens(in someones eyes. I know that my wardrobe could use updating, and I have become chunkier since last year. Just today I am starting to go through closet and get rid of anything that doesnt make me spiffy. Perhaps we could be on what not to wear!!!!!! As far as haircut,I go to a beauty school, because I really like the enthusiasm and cheap prices of the stylists-Ive found really no difference between the school haircuts(99% of time) and higher priced snotty hair salons. How about going to a beauty school to get a facial and or massage; THEN go into a store you like and try something different on!BTW-a friend of mine always used to get one outfit each year that she had to fight with herself to get(ie something she would not normally wear)and invariably found she got many compliments on it! then again, perhaps I should take my own advice!Anyway, dont worry-your hubby loves you-and I think Ive seen pics of you-you non frumpy person!!!!!!!!!
