    Zombie Apocalypse

It starts out all maple doughnut with maybe a hint of the jelly cream from another doughnut squished up next to it, it's filling oozing out the side. Once it dries, the dark caramel scent takes on the quality of the molasses in Lawn Gnome with a tinge of the Snow White coconut/plastic/musk scent. Unfortunately, I'm not getting any red jelly at all dry.

    Lawn Gnome

Oh man. This seriously smelled a lot like Dia De Los Muertos 2004. I haven't found anything this close. DDLM04 was quite a bit heavier and more complex, but Lawn Gnome seems to channel it a bit. It's really well blended, I smell the currants, vanilla and moss the most. I don't find this terribly foody, although it straddles the category. YUM

    Chaos Theory V: Recursive Self-Similarity v1

CCCLIX (should be 359) I don't want to jinx myself but I really give myself over to the chaos and it has worked both times. The first, and last, chaos theory I did was the 2nd one. I ordered one bottle and got something that was perfect. I didn't bother ordering from the other incarnations and risk breaking that initial chaotic magic. Well, these were different so I ordered this one, and only this one. Strike again! I get a cross between The Blockhead (which I oddly love) and Dorian. It goes on all lemony musky leather and dries down into carnation spicey bubblegum, white musk, lemon tea, and leather. Instant love.

    Motley

This is a strange beast and the strongest of the bunch. It's definitely a concept scent and not one you wear to smell beautiful. I actually quite like it though and could see wearing it out on a normal day. I don't normally like rhubarb. I hate rhubarb pie, but I enjoy the smell nice enough. This smells like rhubarb mushroom pie slathered in champaca. The latter can create a real chalky feeling to a scent and it does it here but the currant and rhubarb are adding a balancing level of sweetness. And there's definitely an earthy fungii scent going on as well. Not quite food, not quite dirt, it simply is incensed shrooms. I don't know why but I like it

    Marotte

The pear is definitely golden, all the way. It starts off heavy on the pear and gradually allows in the mellow fig and metallic wood. This isn't ozoney or aquatic, but it has a lingering memory of those. Mostly it's pear, fig, and something a little non-descript earthy. It also fades really quickly. It's actually a really unique scent and one I can't completely compare to anything else.

    Coxcomb

This initially smelled a lot like the white/red rose pairing with currant and no pine. The musk is a very fuzzy, light kind. More akin to white musk or the musk in Buck Moon than a dark one. It dries down to currants, perfectly ripe (not too sweet or sharp), and musky sage, with just a hint of the frank. It smells wonderful.

    Lovers in a Ricefield

Yummy yummy! It makes me want to eat candy. It's a very creamy plum blossom scent where the nutmeg calms the sharpness down and the sandalwood lends a smooth earthiness. In a way, it smells like strawberries and cream, but it's definitely plum and now strawberry. I don't get tart or sweet from this. Just smooth, subdued and extremely creamy in a not so foody way.

    413 U.S. 15 / Miller Vs. California

I was surprised by this at first. It went on very much like a mellower The Blockhead. It had a bubblegum/leather thing going on. As it dried the berries really started to pop and the cognac made a swirly appearance. Overall it reminds me of a cross between The Blockhead and Perversion, but more subdued than either one.

    Agapē

Fee lovers rejoice! This smells like Fee's floral paternal twin. Instead of candy sweet melon, we get delicate sweet pea. Very creamy carnation, with sweet pea and juicy guava.

    Red Rose

Red rose buds, with amber, clove, tonka, Indian musk, fir, and tobacco. This starts out all sweet pine sap on me. As it dries it really develops. I smell the musk and cloves the most next. After a whole a sweet rose pokes it's head in and wants to dominate. I'm not a big fan of fir but it dissipates quickly and really works here. The amber lends that extra special sexy, come hither attitude. Overall really really good once dry. Combined with White Rose it really is AMAZING!!! White Rose adds that extra bit of sweetness to balance it out perfectly. I have never ever bought a second bottle from the lab but I might with these.

    White Rose

This smells like a milker, more buttery version of Snow White. It dries down a bit drier, like shaved coconut. Combined with Red Rose it really is AMAZING!!! I have never ever bought a second bottle from the lab but I might with these.

    Earth Phoenix

This might be as close to Queen of Clubs as I have ever found. It's less present and a more wild, though. This is a rich loamy dirt scent with plum and musky tobacco. I HATE HATE cherry but in here it is wonderful combined with the other sweet notes. And even though the dirt is very much present in the blend, when you smell this is doesn't screem "soil." It's very much a sophisticated perfume. Overall this is very well blended.

    Moon of the Terrible

Oh wow, this is beautiful! Initially, I was hit with a blast of soothing herbal lavender, followed by what I thought of at the time as a sweet lipstick smell, sort of like strawberry (I'm assuming that's the lychee). I smell sweet florals like buttercups, things of that sort. Sweet, demure, unassuming. I also think I smell basil. There isn't much snow from this like some other snow scents. I mostly get a creamy herbal fruity floral. It reminds me of The Oblation without the berry. So very much my type of scent. The lavender is trying to do that aspirin trick it did in gladdener but the sweetness is keeping it at bay for now.

    The Magi

This is yummy...a weird combo, but yummy, especially in the drydown. Wet, this is very much a spicy root beer soda with a heavy dash of grape juice concentrate. It has that same powdery/fizzy quality Hellhound does without the sour note. As it dries this wonderful round note of ambergris (hard to explain but it's wonderful) followed by the vanilla comes out. I'm left with a creamy, resinous, grape-vanilla scent. Amazingly, I smell the color gold. It's not any of the usual suspects, either. It evokes images of the holy grail in Indiana Jones This is really different and extremely wearable. I'm glad I took a chance.

    Tabella

This is strikingly similar to Haloa on me. I didn't originally get the similarity until later, when I could smell my hand wafting in the air. It even has Haloa's cakey element. This is rich and sticky with frank, ginger and sage taking the forefront. The other notes blend together in the background.

    Green Party

This smells a lot like Gap Grass to me! It green, fresh and clean without being soapy or having a huge clover element to it. I mostly get aloe, cucumber, lettuce and green grasses. Very yummy and watery. It smells juicy!

    Day of the Skulls

Initially, I really wanted this one...but then the reviews started to come in and they made it seem mediocre. I got it anyway. I like it. It reminds me of a smokier Mict...name that cannot be spelled. The rose seems more like a sweet tea rose. The more I put on the darker it gets with the frank and tobacco coming out. I can see how someone giving just an initial or cursory sniff would immediately go, "roses!" Just smell one more time and you'll find a lot of depth.

The Wild Men of Jezirat al Tennyn (2006)

This is a very mossy amber with a touch of spice on me. I remember slathering it on one day when I was a bit active and it turned to the most nastiest cat pee smell. There's something in some BPAL blends that do that when combined with my sweat. I gave up a lovely bottle or two because of it. I am determined to keep the Wild Men though. This is such a warm, cozy scent...a touch masculine, but I like it. I'll just wear it on cozt days.

    Hellhound on My Trail

Hmm, I get a lot of sweet clove from this. It's grainy/powdery cola. Like those chalk candies in cola flavor...you know the ones. No booze here. Out of the bottle I got Black Lace meets Antonino. It's less so on but the match does compare somewhat.

Irrelevant and Disturbing Surreal Crawdad Dream

This is awesome! It reminds of Cheshire Moon in feel but the Crawdad is softer, sweeter, less bitter and sharp. I get sweet berries and guava for some reason, green tea, sweet florals and this odd but pleasant herbal note that reminds me of fresh cut basil. That almost licorice scent it has. It compliments the sweet elements well. This is just fun and uplifting.

    Faeu Boulanger

Watery cucumber and soft, candied violet with a bit of sweet mint thrown in for good measure. It's like Faith and Tulzscha had wonderful babies together. It can get a bit sweet and aquatic at times, but it's really nice refreshing.

    Shrunken Heads

Mmm, green leather. It really does smell pulpy without it really ever being in your face. The leather is as close to Dead Man's Hand as I've seen in a while. The green adds just a soft, sweet touch. I quite like it.

Color me sad. I was so looking forward to this. It's a nice smelling blend, but isn't really what I wanted out of it. It starts off as a salty generic resin/musk. As it dries I get whiffs of the myrrh and orange. Only when it's fading do I get any touch of fig. That's when I think it smells lovely.

    Inez

This is all caramel sugar all the time. I pretty much love all the notes in this blend, but for me, the parts are greater the sum. I wish it hadn't gone so gourmand on me. Other who like that sort of thing will love Inez. P.S. It reminds me of Underpants a bit.
