    Obatala

In the vial this has a delightfully, fresh, cool and creamy coconut scent that conjures up images of tropical locals. It changes somewhat on my skin, becoming a touch warmer as the shea butter mingles with the milk and coconut, pushing the cool water to the background of the scent. After a few hours this leaves a soft, creamy sweetness with a touch of coconut on my skin. Lovely!

    Ochosi

In the vial this is a very green and woodsy scent, with a lovely sweet background note behind the greenness. On my skin, the smooth, creamy and sweet presence of shea makes itself felt and the green scents gently fold into its loveliness. After a few hours a very soft and sweet scent of shea rounds out the green herbs, in a smooth mixture of scents.

    Gennivre, L’Artiste du Diable

Hyson tea leaf, pale mint, sugar cane, orange blossom, lemongrass, and honey. In the bottle, this is an interesting scent, with warmth and coolness mixed together with a touch fruity, but it is rather hard to describe. On my skin, however, this is a cool, light, sweet minty orange scent mingled against a warm backing of honey and tea - it's deliciously lovely - and when I sniff my wrist I can smell the minty edge to the scent, but otherwise I can smell the warm, comforting sweet honey wafting up to my nose. After a few hours, this fades to a sweet, soft honey and although the fruity mint tea has faded, it is quite lovely.

    Oya

In the vial, this smells of a high and cool floral and plum combination; it is quite nice. On my skin, this scent takes on a dry edge behind the plum-floral, the dryness perhaps coming from wood scents - this unusual scent combination certainly emphasises love, with the sweetness of the fruit and flowers, and war, with the dry and somewhat astringent wood scent! After a few hours, this has become a soft floral scent mixed with something dry, like sandalwood, but it is now quite mellow.
  5. In the bottle, this smells of boozy rum balls, nutmeg, allspice and gingerbread dough prior to cooking; it makes me think of people mixing up Christmas sweets (plum pudding, rum balls and gingerbread) a week or two prior to Christmas - it's amazing! After putting it on my skin, it changes and softens somehow, turning into boozy, previously baked gingerbread with all of the usual Christmas spices in the background. After a few hours it smells like a soft gingerbread, somewhere off in the distance - the musk is making itself felt by its rounding and softening of the gingerbread scent, which has become sweet, soft and rather subtle... yet still delicious - and I smell like Christmas goodies! As a workmate walked past, a short time after putting it on, she commented that it "smells like ginger!"

    Juke Joint

This smells of a dark, somewhat astringent sugar and amber combination in the vial; the astringency perhaps being a mix of the bourbon and mint which are sharp on the nose, floating over a dark sugar - not a sweet sugary scent, but something smelling more like brown sugar. On my skin, this morphs into a mark darker scent as the sharp edge disappears and becomes more manly, and turns into a smell which could almost be called savoury rather than boozy, yet it retains the same backing of brown sugar beneath it all. After a few hours it smells of a soft and slightly sweet amber, with a hint of its former masculineness.

    Dragon's Reverie

In the vial, this is a pungently ferocious scent of dragon's blood resin underscored by ylang ylang, and presumably the scent of poppy. It mellows on my skin, with the florals coming out from behind the pungent aroma, softening it until it becomes almost - but not quite - tame; it is a very interesting aroma, with a slightly sweet edge rounding out the powerful resin. After a few hours, it is the scent of amber which remains, tinged slightly with a vague hint of dragon's blood resin.

    Yemaya

In the vial, this smells of lovely, juicy, cool, refreshing honeydew melon, or a summer bowl full of melon salad - yum! On my skin the melon scent becomes warmer, and becomes entwined with a deeper scent, like melon pieces being covered in warm Midori; although it is the scent of the grapes coming through the melon - it is still delightfully summery, and the grapes add a lovely boozy depth to the scent. After a few hours this settles to a soft, sweet scent, without the strong melon flavour to it, yet it is still delightfully delicious and perhaps a touch floral. It is a wonderful scent!

    Bien Loin D'Ici

In the vial, this smells like a lovely mixture of musk and Morocco, over a layer of sweetness. It is only on my skin that the caramel and honey come out to play over the top of the musk, blending with the Moroccan unguents - it's delightfully gorgeous, the benzoin giving a slight vanilla-like touch to the scent! After a short time, however, it becomes a very smoky scent; it is still sweet, but the Morocco scent is practically overwhelmed by the smoke scent, although a touch of the musky-Morocco is hinted at beneath it all. After a few hours the other scents fade, and a soft musk is left which retains a touch of sweet-smokiness within it.

    Elegba

In the vial, this is very reminscent of Red Lantern - a sweet, dark, deep and sugary caramel with a hint of coconut! Yum! On my skin, it becomes a touch smoky with tobacco, yet retains its sweetness undearneath - it is still sweet with sugared rum and coconut, smothered in deep, rich caramel. With its smoky darkness, it could quite easily be worn by a man - it's certainly not a girly sweetness. After a few hours, it becomes a soft sugared sweetness on my skin, and whilst other scents fade, a delicious plain caramel remains. Just lovely! This is exactly how I wished Red Lantern had been!!

    Paris

In the vial, this is a very sweet, high and cold lavender scent; the coolness of this scent makes me think of winter. Yet there is a dramatic change as soon as it hits my skin - sweet bubblegum starts to waft up to my nose! I put it on just before bording a tram, and during the journey I kept smelling fresh, juicy bubblegum; it was me! It is only when I sniff my wrist that I can smell a spice-ladened lavender which overwhelms the lotus - which is quite odd, since I can distinctly smell a pure bubblegum-like lotus scent when not sniffling my wrist. I'm not sure how it does it, but it's a great paradox! After a few hours, all that remains is the lovely, soft and cool, yet now almost plastic-like, bubblegum sweetness of the lotus.

    Santa Eularia Des Riu

In the vial this is a clear, light and delicately orange scented perfume, tempered by soft lavender. On my skin, the lavender comes through more sharply, though there is a definate mixture with the orange, which is backed by something green. After a reasonably short time, the orange fades to the sweetness of jasmine, and the lavender loses its sharpness, leaving the scent as a soft, sweet, floral.

    Osun

Ooh, this smells of a lovely, sweet, juicy, fruity combination of scents in the vial! On my skin it morphs into a strong but sweet honey with a background of something very complex - it's herby, floral and fruity - yet utterly divine! After a few hours this becomes a lovely, creamy sweet floral with just a hint of honey in the background which is quite utterly delicious!

    Olokun

In the vial this is a piercing smell of something like a tropical cocktail, although I can't specify which type - something cool and fruity... maybe a melon punch with Midori and ice. On my skin, a little saltiness of the sea starts to amp behind the melon sweetness; it's like a cocktail on the beach as you catch the scent of the ocean whilst you drink, then turn away to breath in the salty air. After a few hours this becomes a soft and faintly sweet scent, fading away gently and quietly on my skin. To me, this scent best reflects a melon-flavoured cocktail drank at the beach whilst under a tropical sun!

    Neo-Tokyo

In the vial this is an unusual scent of bamboo and the sharpness of ozone. It settles on my skin, calming the sharpness down, while the cherry blossoms and orchids begin to emerge over a slight sweetness from fruits in the background, and a vague tinge of metal beneath it all - it is both lovely and unusual! After a few hours, everything has melded and it becomes very soft and faint; there is really only a slight smell of the lovely cherry blossoms left on my skin, almost gone...

    Anubis

In the vial this is an unusual combination of smells that form a slightly herbal, deep and floral-sweet scent. On my skin, it starts to smell of incense and sweet, green herbs - unusual but quite lovely. After a few hours the herbs fade and it becomes a soft and slightly sweet incense scent. It is, all in all, quite a nice scent.

    Lust

This is an interesting scent in the vial - it's musky and floral, with the sweet ylang ylang being tempered by the earthiness of the patchouli and bitter myrrh. On my skin, it is a floral musk with an earthiness behind it; rounded and gentle rather than uncontrollable or insatiable! If it is lust, it is of a gently simmering sort, quiet and kept in check and awaiting the opportune moment. After a few hours this becomes a soft musky scent, sweetened a touch with florals, although the ylang ylang itself has faded.

    Lilith

In the vial this is a dark and juicy floral scent; it really is a deep and mysterious scent. On my skin, it changes to a slightly lighter scent, though it is only light by comparison to the scent coming from the vial - it is a juicy, musky rose coming from a soft background of dark booziness with just a hint of myrrh. After a few hours it has become a lovely, dark floral musk that retains the mystery of the scent.

    Dracul

In the vial this is a lovely orange musk dusted with spice, reminding me somewhat of Christmas - probably due to the orange and cloves. On my skin, however, an almost bitter sharpness of the spices and tobacco cuts through and then blends the background of the orange musk. After a few hours the spices and orange fades and it smells of a 'fuzzy' musk; on me, fir tends to have a scent that is, well, 'fuzzy' and hard to describe, but it is soft and swirled in amongst a rounded musk. It is quite lovely, really, and may work well as a character scent for my Ordo Dracul Ventrue vampire in the Requiem game.

    Rapture

This is a high, cool and clear floral in the vial with lots of lovely jasmine throughout the scent - it's just gorgeous. On my skin, it changes greatly, becoming more like a warm, dark rose soap with hints of mandarin and bergamot behind the rose. After an hour or so, it changes again to become a lovely, sweet musky floral.

    Nefertiti

In the vial, a herb scent floats above a rounded, smooth mixed base scent of which is too difficult to pick any specific notes. On my skin, floral notes appear in the scent, over a base with hints of sandalwood. After a few hours this becomes a very soft, sweet, powdery sandalwood scent, which is quite nice. My boyfriend commented that I smell nice while wearing this perfume - high praise, as he rarely makes these comments about scents!

    Bloodlust

In the vial this is a slightly sweet and heavy scent with piercing notes of patchouli and vertiver. On my skin, the scent starts to round out and a hint of the cinnamon spiciness comes through as the patchouli and vertiver mix in with the other scents in this complex creation, and the musk starts to make its presence known. After a couple of hours it is a warm, smooth and thick scent of musk, yet with a sweetness behind it, presumably from the dragon's blood. A very interesting combination!

    Shanghai

In the vial, this is an interesting mix of sweetness and a lemony scent, the smell being a lot deeper than I was expecting from the description. On my skin it softens the darnkess, lightening it up and becoming much more refreshing - like a lemony sweetness with maybe a hint of green tea hiding behind them both, but it is very soft and fades very quickly. As it has very little throw, all that is left after a few hours is a very soft and very slight sweetness on my skin; lovely but hard to detect...

    Hellcat

Woah, in the vial this is a sweet, sweet almond scent, very reminiscent of marzipan! On my skin, it deepens and a boozy hazelnut scent starts to appear, quite dark and different from the sweet scent in the vial, yet it still has a sweetness behind the stronger, deeper scent. After a few hours it settles to a creamy sweetness and honey. Very lovely!

    Kuang Shi

In the vial, this is an orange and sandalwood combination, with a hint of mango underneath; although it is a fruity scent, it seems to be a masculine scent, thanks to the sandalwood. My skin, however, changes the scent completely to a heavy, musky and sweet flavour - it both hides the sandalwood and mixes the orange and mango to a dark fruity sweetness. After a few hours this becomes a soft and sweet scent on my skin, the sweetness of the fruits joined with the lasting musk making it soft and lovely.
