  1. ... Tamamo-no-Mae's scent is soft skin musk, brushed by white tea leaf, rice flower, black locust flower, white sandalwood kodo smoke, dry ginger, benzoin gum, and Amacha.

Yup... one of my favorite scents EVER (Hungry Ghost Moon)'s little brother has come out to play! :P

There is something in HGM that is not in this one... it is like HGM was harvested before it "matured". LOL. It is delicious! Missing the sharp grapefruit note, maybe? Very creamy-tea... with ginger.

I love this! must find a backup bottle to hoard :D

  2. Ok, I was scared of this one... but got it in a swap, thinking "well, I must try everything, right?" Jasmine and I are at war typically... I like the smell, but my skin tends to amp it up.

So... with caution I opened the vial... Yup. Jasmine! but not as harsh as, say, Ligeia. I put it on my skin... same. Jasmine! but not harsh...

After a few minutes, though? This has the most beautiful dry down stage! The jasmine is there, sure... but it is soft and beautiful. I can't believe this is the first jasmine blend that may be wearable for me! hooray! :P

  3. Hmmm... well, from the bottle this smells really good. A light floral. Very spring-y and lovely. On my skin, though? Yikes. It goes wonky... Sweet Pea takes over and goes even a little sour... makes it smell artificial on me, and even reminds me maybe of how a cheap dollar store Sweet Pea lotion might smell. Which isn't the fault of the oil, but of my skin chemistry.

*sniffs it a few more times so it leaves me with loving thoughts*

  4. I got to try this scent last night for the first time... I have to agree with WikkidRaven when comparing it to Knave of Hearts. Which, for me, means it turns to mostly spice on my skin. :P There is a bit of the yum fruity berry in the background, but my skin always amps up the spicy notes... What a shame!

All in all, though, it works *better* than the Knave... but still disappoints due to my skin reactions. Boo! :D

  5. well, I was part of a decant circle for all 6 Inquisition scents (run by my Enabler, the wonderful HennaFairy), so I will review them all!

Heartache: I was very curious as to how this one would smell. The notes are unique, and some are things I love, some are things that don't work... But in the decant? Delicious! Fruity with patchouli. Berry, really... Unfortunately, although this smells good when I *first* put it on my skin, it goes all wonky after a few minutes... sort of turns sour. So sad!! :P

Loss: Ok, well this is the one with the EVIL Lavendar. And, yes... on first sniff that is ALL I get. And lavendar is the one thing I absolutely abhor (sp?)... so, umm... I have to admit that I did not test it on my skin :P But my Enabler loved this one, so I swapped it back to her. hehe.

Longing: I'm a fan of the notes in this one, but I guess it doesn't really smell "special". If that makes sense. It was rosey with other flowers... on my skin, the same. Turned bland on my skin after a minute or so. boo :P not TOO sad, though, as I dont' have to track a bottle down, and that is always good. hehe.

Passion: Ok... I can see why this is a fan favorite... and also can tell even from a sniff that it won't work on me. Boohoo! Of course I still tried it (LOL)... In the imp... musky with a hint of sweet & vanilla. On me? rubber musk. :P What a shame!!

  9. I used my Oof bomb a few nights ago... I was having a major sinus headache... and, well, my headache bomb is backordered. hehe... so I put this one in! I can't handle "saving" things, right? Anyway, I'm glad I did it! The strong menthol/eucalyptus type scent worked well (even just sniffing) to clear up my head... in the water, it fizzed quite a lot!

The only thing I wasn't exactly loving was the "slick" feeling I felt on my skin as I was in the bath. Don't get me wrong... my skin felt nice later! I just have paranoia issues, and was then worrying if I would slip and fall (or worrying if it would make the bathtub all slimy after I got out). WHich, neither things happened... so, this is just a personal issue I have. LOL. I couldn't relax as much as I wanted to.

    I am a spazz :P

  10. At first I wasn't sure on this one... although I had the same experience with Beth's Black Moon. DD is very similar to Black Moon, so I slathered it on... and proceeded to become semi-obsessed with the scent! It is DARK flowers... but has something... I don't know. metallic? But I love it! I have worn it almost a week straight now!

  11. wow. seriously... can I just say WOW???

In the bottle, I smell something sweet... but creamy. grapefruit and cherry! On my skin? I wish I could explain this better... but it seems sweet and creamy... but DIFFERENT. So original! I have never smelled a BPAL oil like this one, and quite honestly I think it may be the BEST ONE EVER. :D On my skin, it stays true to the smell I get from the bottle... fruity, creamy, and there is *something*. I think it may be the cherry? something that makes this stand out from the crowd.

    AMAZZZZZING!! :P

  12. Not sure how I feel about this one... usually pear is something I LOVEEEE...And I do LIKE this... but the pear blended with the floral gives off just a tinge of something "sour" on my skin... I'll have to try this one again to be sure :P

  13. Lurid, licentious, and lucrative: pomegranate, tobacco leaf, patchouli, wild berries, pine pitch, oak-aged vanilla, and pink pepper.

Oh wow. I don't normally like patchouli scents... but my friend got this one, so I tested it anyway. And, WOW!! This is
amazing, really! Spicy and sweet at the same time... and the patchouli? It is blended in so well! I put this on my arm and immediately
wanted to eat it. LOL. and somehow I just lucked out and will be getting myself a partial bottle! I can't wait!!

  14. yikes. I knew going into this testing that I don't "do" vetiver, but I always give the scents a fair trial

anyway, right? This one is PURE vetiver... sour and spicy on me... and the scent STAYS. Forever. hehe. I wish some of the scents

I LOVE had this sort of staying power! Ah well, this one is just not for me...

  15. Creepy... apples and caramel. I love this in the bottle... and on my skin at FIRST... but over time it sort of warps

to something a little overwhelming... the apple fades a bit, and the buttery part becomes overpowering. I still like it, but

not as much as when it is "fresh" on my skin.

  16. Wow. Ok, so I have a little grudge against our lady PQ... but her scent just about makes up for her delayed

shipment! This is a rich pumpkin, but with spicy cinnamon twist... but with something sweet, too! Sort of like a pumpkin

cookie. Delicious! To me, this has a little bit of a similarity even to my beloved Trick 2... that same spicy/sweet that makes

me want to eat it. :P

  17. I have sent a few emails myself this past week... but knew about the email issues, so it was also suggested to me that I PM Sara here at the board... Just in case. Well, I still haven't gotten a reply to my emails... but I see that my PM was read, just not replied to...

Unfortunately, that suggests to me that the same is happening to my emails... :P

What should I do? Should I email/PM again? it is getting a bit frustrating. I need an answer :D I wish they had a CS phone number to call!

  18. The Plane of Joy, eternal reward for a lifetime of valor and glory. A place of eternal youth and beauty, strength and honor, music and revelry. The warmth of amber, the puissance of white ginger and the clarity of verbena, with fresh green grass, lush sage and cleansing droplets of summer rain.

I looked around, and didn't see this one up yet... which is scary! This is my first time starting a review thread, so be gentle :D

Ok, I got Mag Mell on a whim from someone that listed it on Ebay... I had had it on my wishlist since the update, but hadn't ordered it yet. And I am SO glad I did!!

This is a very bright "golden" scent. It really is very very close to Litha (which I love), but Litha has something in it that is a little... off? or sour sometimes? And Mag Mell is Litha MINUS that! Which means it is perfect!

On me, I smell the amber with something sweet... again, "golden" is really how I kept thinking of this.

So, basically, if you loved Litha (or liked it, but it was a little too strong for you), Mag Mell will be your new favorite! I know it is mine (for now, anyway! hehe) :P

  19. Cockaigne was the new GC I was most excited about, and I felt so lucky to catch one on Ebay for Lab price "buy it now"... and I got it in 2 days!

Unfortunately... damn my skin! I was so excited to enjoy a sweet cake-y scent, but all I got from Cockaigne was a very strong spicey scent. No cake. No honey. Just sort of like Gingerbread Poppet (which I LOVE), minus the sweetness. Just a harsh spice. So not me, unfortunately... :P
