How to make a paypal order.

quick question, because it's been a while since I sent a paypal payment to the lab and I can't remember now - should I get a response from the lab saying that they received the order or not?

    Glowing Vulva at Ryogoku Bridge

Sexy. That's the first word that comes to mind when I sniff this one. It's a creamy, slightly musky blend that lingers on my skin. Every so often, I get a whiff of it, and it's just amazing. The amber, cream, and lotus blossom are just a beautiful combination that's ever-so-slightly deepened by the teak. I get the comparisons between the teak and sandalwood, but to my nose, the teak's not quite as woodsy or spicy. Can we buy this one by the gallons?

    The Presence of Love

In the bottle: JASMINE! Maybe a touch of something citrusy- almost a hint of lemon, but I'm guessing that's the grapefruit Wet on skin: JASMINE! plus the tiniest bit of amber Dry on skin: gorgeous jasmine/rose blend with the very faintest citrus note. Love, love, love! Very traditional floral perfume. I can't stop sniffing myself now

    Love's Philosophy

So, MB: Underpants is at the top of my list for all time favs, and I was expecting this one to be similar. Actually, I was working under the impression that if Underpants is the slightly sinful older sister who wears leather and kisses (and more) all the boys at the bar, that Love's Philosophy would be the more innocent younger sister who flirts with the high school quarterback but doesn't do more than that - I was really hoping for that same vanilla/saffron combo, only without the edge of the sandalwood and rum. Instead, I got 2 hours of hospital sanitizer hiding under a thin veneer of spearmint before the vanilla came out to play, and it was a very florally vanilla. Very very similar to Antique Lace to my nose, once the spearmint/sanitzer combo disappeared. No hint of the saffron at all. I was really hopeful for this one, but it's not for me.
  6. My fav smutty perfumes are Snake Oil, Mme. Moriarty, and MB: Underpants - I had a guy describe Snake Oil as being "fuck-me vanilla" - what more could you ask for if you're looking for a sexy scent?

    Libra 2007

In the bottle: ugh, cough syrup (warning - I've got a hideous cough and I've been taking lots of cough syrup - maybe that medicinal smell is me rather than the perfume, but I doubt it) Wet on skin: I'm going to gag. Sickeningly sweet sweat - with extra rose and a splash of deodorant. Like someone who hasn't bathed and is trying to cover it up. Dry on skin: Is this the same perfume from above? Wow. I get predominantly a blend of carnation, plum, and rose. A touch of honeyed cherry is lurking underneath the rose. Libra is gorgeous! Overall: I this blend. I'm a Libra, and I was a bit reluctant due to the rose and honey - two notes I usually amp. Libra is a lovely blend - that's right, a blend - not a honey/rose duo like I was expecting. Very feminine and clean. Maybe I should have got more than one bottle. D'oh!

Oils to relax, calm, soothe, restore your sanity...

I need help picking an oil to wear to work. I've been so unhappy there for so long, and I've tried things like Aunt Caroline's Joy Mojo, but I haven't had much luck that way. I can't leave there, however, not yet - I'm stuck until November at the very earliest. I finally realized this weekend that the problem isn't me - it's just one coworker that makes most of us there miserable. I'm happy to be there, and so very productive when I start my day - until about 5 minutes after she arrives. That's about the point she starts talking and spreading negative energy to all of us. Life improves again when she takes her 2 hour lunch break, but everything goes bad again when she returns. I need some sort of liquid prozac to either (1) help me block her out, (2) be happy anyhow, or (3) keep her from being like she is. Any suggestions? I've got a pretty large collection, so feel free to name various BPALs or TALs.

    Owl Baby Night Scents

One drop of TKO on the pillow really helps my 3 1/2 year old on tough nights. Only problem is when I tuck him in I am tempted to stay in there, it's so cozy. Sorry to have to ask ... but what is TKO? I can't find it using the forum's search engine (that three-letter word thing?) and searches for "vanilla" and "lavender" on the Lab's Web pages didn't turn up a likely candidate. I've been using a "No Bad Dreams" spray with my DD as part of her bedtime ritual. It's a cinnamon hydrosol/lavender EO blend in a pretty cobalt blue bottle. I think a vanilla-lavender combo would be even nicer. It's one of the Panacea blends - Elixir IX: TKO

    Victoria

I'm not normally a rose lover, seeing how rose normally tries attacking me by poisoning my sinuses, but I love this scent. The rose stays nice and light, and is nicely balanced by the lily. I can just barely pick up the vanilla musk. This is the light floral perfume I've been looking for. Very feminine.

    Monster Bait: Tokyo Stomp

In the bottle: mint. I get no vanilla, just mint. Well, maybe a tiny drop of white chocolate. Really, I'd be happy even if it stayed just like this. Wet: White cake with a peppermint icing. That's a good thing. Dry: First thing, it's very cool - not with regards to smell, I mean it makes my skin feel about 10 degrees cooler where it's dabbed on. I like this part very much. Smell - it alternates between the white cake with peppermints, mint Aeros (which I'm starting to crave), and... um... a darker vanilla mint? Hard to explain what I mean. It's almost an evil vanilla that's robbing the poor peppermint at gunpoint. Overall: I love. My mom makes this amazing birthday cake with a white cake base and then a whipped cream/crushed peppermint filling and icing. It's so tasty, and Tokyo Stomp smells just like it. Perfect for the summer for me. Nostalgic and sweet and cooling and oh so nice.

BPAL Patchouli - there's nothing else like it

For the most part, I don't even like patchouli, but I adore Sin and Mme. Moriarty - those are the two that are most likely to convert me into being a patchouli lover. I'd definitely include those two, as well as Tez. I think the cocoa in Tez makes it really unique.

    Treat #2

A fine confection for discriminating trick or treaters: a fig meat, coconut, and buttercream bonbon rolled in orange rind, mint leaf, cardamom, clove and ginger, dipped in milk chocolate. In the decant: mmm, chocolate and orange Wet on skin: orange-scented cream with a sprinkling of cocoa powder. Dry on skin: It starts as a orange creamsicle that's been rolled in shredded coconut and cocoa, but starts morphing into a chocolate-covered orange candy. Finally settles into an orange-y coconut cream. Overall impressions: When it's in that chocolate orange candy stage, I get so very nostalgic. My grandfather used to send me boxes of orange jelly sticks coated in chocolate when I was in college, and the scent is very reminiscent of opening up one of those boxes. When it reaches the orange coconut cream stage, the coconut/cream part is identical to Obatala to my nose. It's orange-scented Obatala. While I never get the spice, mint, or the fig, I don't care. Treat #2 is utterly gorgeous, and further convinces me that I should order everything that even thought about having coconut in it. Definitely a 15 out of 10.

    Mr. Nancy

In the decant: caramel topped with fresh lime zest Wet on skin: spiced limeade Dry on skin: Mr. Nancy becomes Mr. Morpher on my skin. 1. At first, he was sweet sugar cookies with a drizzle of a light lime icing. 2. Then, we went through the "Huh. Why am I smelling Indian food?" phase - very much like the scent that permeates my local Indian buffet with a twist of lime. That's the point where my arms reacted violently with Mr. Nancy. I still have a 2in wide welt on both arms where I'd put a drop of Mr. Nancy in the crook of my elbow. Has anyone else had this problem? 3. I think Mr. Nancy and I have finally settled into a long term relationship - the scent hasn't morphed yet since it became a spiced caramel lime cookie. Overall: I love the caramel, spice cookie, and lime aspects. I'm really not in love with the massive welts and burning sensation. I'm thinking this will be the scent that finally pushes me into getting a scent locket. I Mr. Nancy.

    Zarita, the Doll Girl (2006)

Amazing. Gorgeous. An orange blossom creme sprinked with tiny sugared floral bits. Sweet and soft. I'm going to have to get a bottle of this one. So far, tied for first on my list of favorite CD scents.

    The Estee Lauder similarities thread

I didn't see another post on this, so if I missed it, I'm so sorry. I just tried Estee Lauder's new "Beautiful Love", and I adore the scent. However, after a year of BPALing, I don't adore all the list of chemicals and alcohols I can't pronounce. To me, it's a very feminine floral - which I didn't really expect. Top Notes: Pomelo zest, Cantaloupe, Mango, Magnolia, Marigold Middle Notes: Tiare, Tuberose Absolute, Jasmine Absolute, Jasmine Sambac, Rose, Osmanthus, Carnation, Black Violet Base Notes: White Orris, Vetiver, Heliotrope, Tonka Bean, Whipped Cream, Sandalwood, White Moss, Patchouli The notes I notice the most are the magnolia (wow!) and then a touch of the mango. When I searched for magnolia scents, the one that looked like the best match was La Belle Au Bois Dormant (because of the rose, tuberose, and magnolia) - but when I tried that one, it was straight pear on me. So, any suggestions?

    Dolce Stil Nuovo

I'm absolutely in love with this scent. I can't pick out a single note, it just all blends together into an incredibly smooth, feminine, clean floral. If I had to pick out notes, I'd say it was mostly lavender/vanilla/rose. Honestly, it's blown my mind so much that I'm having difficulty explaining exactly why I love it so much. It's not dominated by any one note, so if you're worried about the rose, jasmine, or amber, don't be. I was worried that the rose would beat the other notes into submission, but that's not the case. I must hoard bottle after bottle of this one.

    Moxie (fizzyBOOM)

I have one the uncolored Moxie fizzyBOOMs, but I can easily see why you'd want a yellow or orange scent to go with this one. Scent: weak to medium. Used a third of the bomb, and that was enough to lightly scent the water but not my skin. Best description would probably be like a powdered orange soft drink. Very nice, could see how this would be invigorating. Bathing: LOTS o' bubbles. Water was very silky, all in all a luxurious bathing experience. Effect on skin: I'm so freakin' baby soft and silky now. My skin would adore me if I bathed in one of these bombs every day. Overall? LOVE I may go bankrupt from ordering so many fizzyBOOMS after this, but it's going to be worth it.

    Velvet

In the imp: Sandalwood with a thin coat of chocolate candy coating Wet on skin: Like sniffing a stick of sandalwood that had been used to blend vanilla into a cup of hot chocolate. Nice smooth blend of all three. Dry on skin: Ok, what? Why am I getting a strong mint smell now? The scent is waffling between thin mints and mint toothpaste. Occasionally, I get a whiff of vanilla-ed sandalwood. I'm just a tad bit baffled. Overall: Still baffled by the mint. I cannot figure out where that's coming from, but I feel a bit better since other people smell mint too. At first I thought I'd drunk so much mint tea lately that it was coming out of my pores, but I'm guessing that's not the case. As much as I like smelling like thin mints, that's what Spooky is for. Here's hoping that next time I wear it, I get that sandalwood, vanilla, and hot cocoa mix again.

    Mme. Moriarty, Misfortune Teller (2006)

In the decant: Musk. Sharp spiced musk. If it smells like this on, I’m going to smell like some sort of animal that rolled around in bucket of spices. Hmm, is that a bad thing or not? I'm not sure. Wet on skin: Ye gad, it’s spiced patchouli. I strongly dislike patchouli most of the time – it usually amps to the point that it’s the only thing that can be smelled. However, this is slightly different than the patchouli in Sin or Depraved. This might just be wearable. Dry on skin: After about 15 minutes, the patchouli starts to disappear and a cloud of spiced musky pomegranate and plum begins to waft up from my wrist. Oooh, this is nice! Normally, the plum scents are ultra-fruity on me, but the plum’s behaving in this blend. After about an hour, the vanilla starts to kick in. It’s a deep sexy spiced plum vanilla. Wow. Overall: I just have a decant, because I wasn’t sure about how the blend would behave on my skin. I must have a bottle now. I still haven’t tried Snake Oil, so I don’t know how it compares. This is by far one of the sexiest scents I’ve ever tried, and the throw is light enough to be inviting – someone else can get a faint whiff, but would have to get close to get a good sniff. The patchouli and musk give it a deep spiced sexiness, while the vanilla and plum give it a creaminess that makes it wearable and the pomegranate makes for a refreshing top note. At times, my nose gets confused and I could swear I smell a touch of apricot. I cannot stop sniffing my wrist, it’s so intoxicating. Mme. Moriarty is absolutely amazing on me!

I like Jolly Roger for a nice salty ocean-y smell. Maybe that would help?

    Glitter

In the bottle: pear Wet on skin: citrus! Where did the citrus come from? Is it an unlisted note? Very bubbly and sweet - it's reminding me of soda. A particularly bubbly and citrusy soda (not Sprite or 7-up, maybe closer to Mello Yello). Dry on skin: The citrus notes keeps coming and going. At times, it's all I can smell. Then it will fade away, revealing this soft sweet pear/heliotrope combination. Overall: It's like Glitter has 2 personalities. There's the bubbly Lemon Pledge and Mello Yello combination, and then there's the soft pear and heliotrope. I adore both, but I wish it was all pear and heliotrope all the time. I never get an alcohol scent from it. Overall, very nice.

    Purple Phoenix

In the bottle: purple! Grapes, mostly. It just screams "I'm purple, love me!" Wet on skin: grape and plum. Dry on skin: Oddly enough, this smells different on me depending on where it is. Wrists - it's the fantabulous plum softened with iris and violet. Very sweet and mellow. Elbow - myrrh and plums dipped in wine. More resinous than sweet. Overall: 15/10. I love this scent! I adore plums anyhow, and this is just superb. However, I think I'll stick with just dabbing on my wrists rather than wrists and elbows - I like that sweet plumminess best. Doh, should have bought more than one bottle.
