    Womb Furie

I can't even describe what happened when I put this one. This has since been sent to a new home with someone who loves it very much, which makes me feel better. I never thought honey and I did poorly together, but I have never smelled something go so sour so quickly. Sticky, icky, sweaty BO Snake Oil. I will never understand!

    Midnight on the Midway (2006)

I swear I can almost smell bananas on the drydown on this one! You really need to let this one settle in. It is delicious sweet incense in the bottle with a swirl of florals. I thought this was going to nosedive into soap and it was nearly there, but it recovered and has remained delicious. I often like to wear this one to bed because it is a really relaxing, comforting smell.

    Menacing Ionospheric Research Instrument

It's a shock of mint in the imp and a sad lather of soap on the skin. Mint is always such a wonderful touch to a perfume but always leaves only a few minutes in. It doesn't smell bad, but after loving Violet Ray so much, I think I had set myself up for a bit higher expectations.

    Grog

If this doesn't smell amazing on you and turns to play-doh, my heart really goes out to you. This is so rich and lucious and as it dries down I am really craving a big tall frosted mug of this stuff! No wonder everybody wants to be a pirate!

The Malignant Dreams of Cthulhu in Love

ThinkGeek just keep cutting and cutting the price, and my urge to buy an unsniffed bottle was growing and growing. At under $5, I grabbed this. There was no way I could pass it up any longer. It got here pretty fast considering it was UPS ground from New Jersey and I'm all the way in California. It had perfect timing to show up when I had a massive head cold, though. I kept putting it up to my nose and I smelled NOTHING. It was absolute torture. My roommate felt sorry for me and offered to sniff and descripe, but this wasn't really a great idea afterall. She said it was "chocolate ass" and immediately wished she hadn't sniffed it. But! My nose finally began functioning again and it was sniff time! First reaction? WHOA. This blend is chocolatey. But it's weird! Definitely a box of chocolates in the bottle with something strange behind it. I would almost describe this as a box of candy that zombies would give each other. It almost reminds me of Ghoul Hooligan if not for the whiffs of sea salt and greenery and incense. Yum. This has to be my best unsniffed purchase to date and at a mega bargain at that.
  6. Pancake Breakfast is my ultimate foodie scent, and Summer Summoning Spectacular is the perfect alternative for days when you don't want to smell only like sticky syrup (although I am constantly layering Pancake Breakfast because it's fun to flavor my pancakes!). Sweet, with coffee and incense and hot, dry grass. This is going in my top ten. I think there might be some vetiver in here, my usual death note, but this blend just makes it work.

    Paper Kite

I am most amazed that I was able to find a coconut blend that I wasn't dying to own. I got a partial of this which is now being sent off to greener pastures since my body chemistry mutilated this one. Very sad about it, too, as sugars and coconuts and pepper and angelica sounded SO lovely.

    VILF

Vampire smut: patchouli-infused honey, red musk, red sandalwood, red ginger, pink pepper, Peru balsam, dark Eastern florals, Himalayan cedar, smoky vanilla, bitter clove, and leather. I agree with Rinster that in the bottle this TOTALLY reminds me of a leathery Follow Me Boy! On the drydown the leather and bitter clove really make this one unique.

    The Gaoler's Daughter

As much as I love to eat peaches, man do peach blends hate to be on my skin. I really wish this loved me more because it's SO gorgeous in my decant, but it turns more floral freak show than sweet peaches and cream. I think my main problem is that I want it to smell like peaches, and it smells like peach perfume. Which I suppose is better, since it is a perfume oil, but it's just not for me.

    Alien Invasion

Man, my review backlog is so intense. Almost caught up! So, I'll just come out and say it: This is one of the greatest BPALs. I have to hide this one from my roommate who thinks most of my perfume stinks. This is the citrus sister of 51 (another favorite) with some slippery, slimy, FUN goo. Beth is a master in general, but she has really won me over with all of her alien/conspiracy blends. These aliens can abduct me onto their wonderful smelling spaceships anytime.

    Beaver Moon 2005

Beaver'versary - OOF. I really love cake and frosting and cheesecake and I love foody blends but this had a sour note that I really wasn't expecting. Maybe I haven't baked vanilla goodies in such a long time that I don't know what it smells like anymore? But this is a cake I'd ever want to eat. What's wrong with me? Off to a new foody loving home!

    Fascinum

The best part of frimps is getting blends you'd otherwise never order. This was such a different smelling perfume. I love the amber and the musk and the saffron, OH MY GOD the saffron, with what appears to be lemon. The cedar really threw this blend off for me, I think, and made it more of a cleaning product. Oh how I wanted to love this one!

    Prunella

Well weren't you just a totally bizarre crazy little fruit scent! Really juicy plum notes with sweet flowers and sweet, delicious cream. I was expecting something MUCH different (read: not as good as this turned out to be!) so I am pleasantly surprised. Wow. Everything really works together here. Florals that I would normally amp like crazy stay mellow, the plum doesn't become cloyingly sweet, and this cream never sours.

    Boomslang

I don't smell as much of the chocolate in the Snake Oil as I was hoping, I think it's almost TOO perfect a compliment as the Snake Oil really swallows it.

    Follow Me Boy

WOW, this stuff does not mess around for the first hour. It's all woman: curvy, loud, bite your head off sassy almost in an overpowering way. But man does this thing sweeten up into a mature, seductive, kissable vanilla with a breeze of soft flowers. Was not expecting that!

    Grand Guignol

Not as boozy as I like, but a sweet candied apricot that has a decent wear length. No real throw to speak of. One of those lab blends that makes you go "hmmmm...do I like this?" but you never quite figure it out!

    Sleipnir

Such a nutty blend! Not in the wacky way, but in the actual nom nom nut way. Hay and berries and creamy hazelnuts. This is a really fun blend and I'm glad I got to give it a little test, but it's time to set this one free!

    Aremata-Popoa

This turns out to be one of the Luau blends that I would rather drink than wear. Mysteriously vanishing blackberry note mixed with booze and anise. Sweet and delicious, but not wearable for me. Which is strange, because I love to wear some of the weirdest!

    Blue Fire

Whoa, boozy blueberries! This is amazing, I really love it. I agree with Whisperstilled that this has the same fizzy, juicy kick that Polynesian Pop has, it's just blueberries instead! Overall I prefer the long wear of PP since the blueberry disappears pretty quickly with this blend.

    Snow Bunny

Any "snowy" smell makes me happy (I'm so excited for this years Yules!) and Snow Bunny is one of my favorites. I love the chill and the sweet perfume and this one wears in a delicious, subtle way for a long time.

    Marquise de Merteuil

Peach...amber...and vetiver? Oh thank you for the peaches and the amber. I can't believe my nose is actually smelling a complement to vetiver! This is a sweet, sophisticated perfume and I'm beyond impressed with it.

    Violet Ray

Oh this gorgeous perfume! Purple, minty, and sweet violet, I don't think you could ask for much more out of Violet Ray. As if I needed another bottle of perfume, Violet Ray had to come and sweep me off of my feet.

Recs for Role-Playing Games (RPG), LARP and Cosplay

Are you fond of milk smells? The Sea Foam's Milk is so lovely and delicate. Bayou has the salty swampy feel, but is more floral and I just sniffed it and could totally see this as a mermaid style scent.

    Destroying Angel Claw Polish

My usual nail polish staple (when I feel like wearing it, anyway) is either a nice rich red or a basic black. Now I finally have a third color to add to my collection of colors! BROWN! Rich, chocolate brown. I love this color and the polish goes on easily and smoothly. As if my BPAL addiction wasn't bad enough, now I'm getting addicted to the BPTP too.

    The Asylum

Thank you thank you thank you Puddin' for putting this in with my goblin squirt/claw polish order. WOW, I can't believe how this smells! I had a collection of unscented pillows lined up to test all of my sprays, and this by far is the favorite of the house and I've had a hard time pulling away to test the other ones I ordered. It's so incredible, minty, and haunting. It's that walking into the waiting room and through the lobby smell of sweetness and healing, and the sick smell of experiments behind the doors. Perfect. Just perfect.
