    The Perilous Parlor

OMG I love this!! Let's just make that clear!! This is an amazingly beautiful, haunting, addictive vanilla pear blend. I expected this to be really fruity, but the pear is soft, creeping, and lovely. The vanilla/creamy quality to this blend reminds me very much of the one in Antique Lace. In fact, this smells very much like Antique Lace with a creamy pear overtone and a smattering of creepiness. This is so exquisitely lovey, I am blown away by how much I love this one, I am totally hooked!! Gorgeous, wonderful, a definite new favorite for me!!

    Pumpkin II (2007)

This is very different from any of the 10 other PP scents. This is soft, seductive, feminine, and lovely. The pumpkin note provides a warm, rich undertone to a beautifully soft, fragrant floral overtone. I love tonka always, and combining it with pumpkin was a very good idea. The carnation note is nice, it's not too strong, which is usually a turn off for me. The longer I wear this, the more th rich, warm buttery quality of this blend comes out. This is really very lovely. I don't think Beth cold create a PP scent I wouldn't love!

    Pumpkin I (2007)

When I tried this one on earlier today, I didn't know what the ingredients were, and I immediately thought: pumpkin with a strong wine note. This smelled very sharply of wine on me, with very little sweetness at all. It faded down a few hours later to a subtle pumpkin note by itself. Now, I've just reapplied, and it smells quite good on me. There is still a certain sharpness to the grape note, but not to the extreme it was earlier. I can detect the pear, and it combines with the grape to create a very crisp, fruity edge to the pumpkin. There is a soft, barely there, jasmine undertone. The sharpness of the grape note wears off quickly, and it settles into a warm pumkiny blend with a hint of fresh fruit underneath. When I first tried this I did not like it, thank goodness I gave it a second chance!! Very unique, and yummy!

    Scorpio 2007

This is soft, subtle, muted yet has a slight kick. This smells the most like wormwood and dragon's blood; although there is a hazey, resinous base that floats underneath. I can detect a hint of the "watery" essence in this blend. It really is quite contrary! This strikes me as somewhat masculne, but not too masculine for a woman. It's not typically a scent I would go for, but it certainly intrigues me for some reason. Scorpio doesn't have a lot of throw, it clings very close to the skin. Definitely a fascinating scent!

    Vampire Tears

This is SWEET, sweet sweet!! My actual first thought is bubble gum! The grapefruit in this is covered in sugar; and it's smooth and sweet and a little tart all at the same time. The honeysuckle is the second strongest note, with a yummy base of neroli and tonka. (god I love tonka!) This is sooo girly, it's almost ridiculous! A very pink, bubbly bouncy litle scent; certainly not what I expected for Vampire Tears! This is very unique and interesting, I'm not sure if it's for me, but I do like the strength and lasting power of this blend.

    Beaver Moon 2007

Was there ever any doubt that this would be divine?? NO!! Fabulous and glorious, just what I was searching for! This is best described as an innocent, sweet pink sugar scent. Sort of like fresh strawberries atop a mountain of fluffy white cake. Ahhh, just glorious! This is sweet, but not overly sweet like the original Beaver Moon. I think people that were put off but the cavity inducing level of the original will be pleasantly surprised by this one. It's such an addictive scent; I cannot stop sniffing my wrist!! It's actually making me crave white cake with pink strawberry frosting!! Yum!! This will probably be one of my all time favorites, just like the original Beaver Moon. Absolutely fabulous, you can try to pry this from my cold dead hands!!

    The Phoenix

Whoa, this is a seriously STRONG scent!! This is an in your face, sea salty aquatic blend; and a heavily masculine one at that. The lime, sea air, gunpowder, and salt crusted wood are all spot on; I can pick each one of those out. As for the dribble of blood and the snake oil, they are not apparent on my skin at all. I don't know how Beth did it, but she made a blend that smells like gunpowder, amazing!! It doesn't get anymore piratey than The Phoenix; this is a pirate lover's dream scent. This is one of the strongest and most long lasting scents I've ever sniffed. For those of you in search of something for the all night long scene, check this one out, it'll stay with you! This is certainly not for me, though, since it screams Capt. Jack Sparrow (ahhhhh...Johnny, what a wonderful image to conjour ). I"m sure the hubbie will dig it!!

    Swan Maiden

A very sweet, feminine, lovely white floral. This is honestly one of those florals that is so meticulously blended that it is sort of hard to pick out individual notes. I think on my skin it smells primarily of magnolia and orchid. As soon as I sniffed the bottle, I thought, "yum, this is gorgeous." Honestly I thought I smelled honeysuckle in there, but obviously my nose decieved me. I really do like these lady-like white florals, they just do not last on my skin. This one has started to fade after only about a half hour, boo hoo. This is very beautiful, and if you are in to very girly scents, this is definitely for you.

    Pirate Moon

Hmmmm, definitely some salty sea brine and a couple of sexy pirates in this bottle!! The top note is probably the ambergris, but it's really nicely blended with a distinct seaside note and some powdery florals. It reminds me a bit of a sophisticated aftershave, but with an aged, piratey, salty kick to it. I think this would be nice on women too, in spite of it smelling rather masculine to me. This is rather long lasting. This dries down to a powdery ambergris blend, not quite my thing. I think the hubbie will like it too, and I'm sure on the right person this is just lovely.

    Crypt Queen

This blend definitely has that "creeping" quality that Beth is so masterful at creating. The top notes are the pomegranate or raspberry, the rose musk is in the middle, with that eerie, creepy, aged, gravestone undertone. The patchouli and pepper are subtle, but they give the initial scent a deep, woodsy feel as well. On the dry down, the rose comes out to play a bit more, and the pepper thankfully disappears. After about an hour, this dries down to something I enjoy much more than the intial harshness. When I read the components in this, I thought this would be my perfect scent, but there is something throwing this blend slightly "off" for me. I suspect it's the pepper and the rose musk, it ends up smelling a little bit old lady on my skin. All in all, though, this is a lovely scent, and I might just hold onto it in spite of it not being my favorite. The nicest thing about Crypt Queen is that she is very long lasting, and I can smell her for hours on end.

    Midnight Kiss

This is divine!! FIrst impressions: Wine, sweet grapey fruity wine, with a cocoa undertone and a beautiful red musk backdrop. I expected the wine note in this to be over the top and rather boozy, but it is so deliciously sweet and fruity!! I can certainly smell the cocoa, but it takes a back seat to the fruitiness. Amber and red musk are two of my favorite notes, and they certainly don't let me down in Midnight Kiss. The undertones are so utterly sexy and mysterious; like a soft, seductive yet evil woman. The combination of the red musk with the grape note is outstanding. This dries down to a purple grape with hints of chocolate and soft amber blowing behind. I just LOVE this!! It's musky and sexy without being incensey or overly strong. This lasts a few hours on my wrists, but by then I'm craving more and I re-apply. FABULOUS!!

Pumpkin Soap (by Silk Road Trading Company)

Oh this is just gorgeous, quite possibly my favorite BPAL soap yet!! I love the pumpkin label, and underneath the soap is smooth and deep orange, like the color of pumpkin pie. This smells like the lab's lovely pumpkin note, like the one in Jack. It is nicely complimented by gorgeous, spicy, cinnamony undertones, like something fresh out of the bakery. This is very much like Pumpkin Queen in soap form. In the shower, the smell is strong and lovely. This is a very, very silky smooth bar; it has an amazing texture. This seems to be a little bit of a harder bar than some of the others, and it seems to last a little longer. I love this! I should go order 3 more bars before they run out!!

    TP'd Trees

A special thanks to Puddin' for hooking me up with this scent! First sniff: Wow, strong, deep, sexy woodsy scent. Like a fresh autumn forest at the peak of its beauty. I expected this to be a really in your face tree scent, but there's really a lovely softer side to the blend. The undertone is soft, unbelievably sensual warmness; it reminds me a bit of amber. This is exactly what I would want my husband to smell like, hell yeah! This is a very long lasting and has quite a bit of throw. I'm sure the hubbie will swiftly confiscate this bottle; he's so freakin spoiled!

    Marshmallow Poof

This is just excellent; better than words can describe!!! This is definitely my favorite treat by far. I've never really smelled anything that smelled like this before, but the closest thing I can think of is a pink sugar scent. But it's so much.....purer than your typcal pink sugar; there is so much more fluffiness to the marshmellowy goodness. This is just, simply put: An angelic cloud of pure white sugar seduction. Possibly one of my favorite BPAL scents of all time, this is exactly the scent I have been waiting for. THANK GOD I got a bottle of this!! **clutches her bottle in sweaty, feverish palms...**

    Spiked Punch

An EXTRA special thanks to Puddin' for hooking me up with this one! First impressions: YUM! Fruity overload with an intoxicating splash of alcoholic beverage. This isn't boozy in the way I thought it would be, it's really a pleasant booze note, much like the one in Swank. In fact, this reminds me very much of Swank, but with more of a bouquet of luscious fruits, instead of just straight pomegranate. The alcohol is definitely there, but it's more refreshing and complimentary than anything. Sort of the way a REALLY well poured cocktail doesn't exactly TASTE lke alcohol, but by the third one you are hammered Beth has masterfully incorporated this into a scent. Does the genius ever end?? I really like this a lot, I find it really refreshing in a unique way. It is also very strong when first applied, and lasts on my skin about 3 hours. LOVED IT!!

    Sugar-Slathered Candied Apple

Yay! I was sooo hoping to get a chance to try this yummy treat! First Impessions: Apple, apple apple!! Yes, a big shiny red apple drenched in a layer of sugary sweet decadence. This is definitely quite a bit different than Creepy. This one is more of a sugar based scent, and the apple note is completely different. The sugar notes actually remind me a bit of the same ones in Marshmellow Poof. When I first put this on, it was very strong and had quite a bit of throw. But, on the drydown, it fades very quickly to almost nothing. I wish it had more throw, but that's ok; it's lovely enough to reapply frequently. Yum!!

    Pumpkin Cheesecake

Oh glorious Pumpkin Chessecake!! My dream scent! My first thought was Jack, with a creamy cheesecake base. There is a wonderful, pumpkiny, carroty undertone, and the cream cheese overtones are subtle but delicious. The cheesecake note in this is not as "in your face" as the one that is in Beaver Moon; this one is a bit softer and more sugary rather than sharp. This dries down to gorgeous mess of pumpkiny sweet delight reminescent of Pumpkin Queen. I LOVE IT!!! Yay!

Sugar Skull Soap (by Silk Road Trading Company)

Yum! My all time favorite BPAL LE in soap form, I am in heaven. I bought 3 bars unsniffed! Fresh out of the wrappper: Yum, this smells very much like Sugar SKull '05; it's on the fruitier end of the spectrem, rather than overly brown sugary. It has little bits of scrubbies everywhere that look like coffee bits. In the shower: The scent isn't super strong, but I can smell it lightly on my skin. The scrubbies are actually pretty hard core, so don't use this unless you are up for some serious exfoliation! It has a nice lather, and leaves my skin very soft. Great!! I LOVE BPAL soaps!! I wish this was not a limited edition

    Khandita

First impressions: Spicy, bold, strong, herbal, dark musk. This is a very ballsy scent; it makes me wanna kick ass! The black musk note is divine; smooth, delicious, yet with a temper. There is a hint of soft rose, warmed over with rosemary that has an almost wooded feel to it. The spices are somewhat cinnamony on me. This is a little too hotly spicy to be one of my favorites, but it's a very sexy scent. This would be perfect for a night on the town. Very lovely!

    Vipralabda

After reading the first few reviews, I was actually expecting this to be more bitter than it is. It does have a certain herbal sharpness to it, but there is also a soft, floral quality. There are overtones of sage, fresh, garden herbs (still green), and undertones of soft, comforting chamomile. There is a breezy, airy, spring like quality to this blend that makes it unlike other herbal blends. This conjours images of the inside of an open walled temple in the middle of the forest. This is strong, but not overpowering. It's got just enough kick to stay with you most of the day. This is very complex, and actually "smells" like a very high quality, expensive blend.

    Hunter Moon 2007

First impressions: Musky, soft, brown, sweet, sexy. This is very pretty, and it smells completely different from the original Hunter Moon. This is much, much softer than I imagined it would be. The musks are deep, sweet and intoxicating; almost to the point where they go a little powdery on me. (but in a good way) There is a hint of spice and autumn toned breezes in the background. This actually reminds me very much of Buck Moon, one of my hubbie's all time favorites. This sounds very manly from the description, but actually it smells like this would be a perfect unisex scent. Very pretty!!

    Aeaea

First impressions: Soft, aquatic, powdery floral, island breeze. This is indeed an aquatic/ozone smelling scent, but there is a lovely, compelling sweetness of florals slathered over the top. The snowdrop note is very pretty, and quite a bit stronger than I would have imagined. There is a dark, evil smelling aspect to this blend as well, which makes it quite contradictory. I can pick out the aloe, as well as what must be the poisoned berry note. The berries are decidedly.....evil After reading the description of this, I would not have thought that I would like it. But actually, this smells very nice on me. It's definitely a light scent, with not much throw, but that's pretty much par for the course for my skin and floral/ozones. Try this, you'll like it!! (Oh yeah, I LOVE the label!! Cute piggy!!)

    Libra 2007

This is mainly a rose blend on me as well. It's very sweet, refreshing, and feminine. The rose note is definitely on top. It's a strong, pink, first date type rose note. There is the barest hint of carnation in there as well. There is a soft, honeyed undertone as well. I absolutely love the lab's honey note; it never disappoints me. On the dry down, this pretty much becomes a straight up pink rose. This is very pretty, and I do like it. This review is short and sweet, just like Libra!

    Lughnasadh

I have been trying for years to get my hands on some of this, and I finally scored a decant on ebay. Now I see what all this fuss is about!! This is **glorious**!! Why, oh why, has this never been re - released!? First impressions: Cherry!! gloriously red, ripe cherry. Mouth watering and fruity licious!! There is a gorgoeus, musky, deep, dark undertone, and it's slightly spicy and drop dead sexy. I can see the comparisons to Black Phoenix, but this is infinitely more fruity. This is sexy, but fun and flirty at the same time. God, I love cherry blends, I would kill for a bottle of this. Just beautiful, I absolutely love this.

    Hunter Moon 2004

I'm so glad I finally got my hands on the original version; this one has been very hard to track down!! The first thing I thought when i sniffed this was "Animalistic," and that was before I read the description! So yes, this is very much an animalistic blend, Beth nailed that one right on the head. The strongest notes in this are the smoky, bonfire notes, and dry autumn air. There is a spicy, musky undertone; this must be the mulled wine. It is sharp but pleasantly berry like. The bonfire note in this reminds me very much of the one in Hexxannacht, one of my faves. This seems like a masculine scent to me, and is somewhat strong smelling for a lunacy blend. This is very haunting, unique, and lovely. I can't wait to try the newer version!
